And (whatever the hell WAR and WAR+ are) Garcia's only a .250 hitter stuck behind a logjam of better players (Seeya! Don't let the door hit ya in the ass!). If he hadn't been booted those two times he wouldn't have gotten the kick in the ass that got him moving.
The cardinals still have 7 outfielder. Carlson, oniel, donovan, nootbaar, edman (they are floating him as the starting centerfielder), then burlison ,(a first basemen that is only getting playtime in the outfield) and jordan walker (a 3b that they only play in right field)
as a twins fan, gotta disagree with the rating of the Gray deal as "lopsided". yes, Gray was an elite performer in '23 but that was an outlier of a season for him, and it was obviously seen as a salary dump for the Reds. overall, that was a fairly standard baseball trade. the Twins/Reds trade that should qualify as a fleecing should be the Tyler Mahle trade, where the Reds successfully pawned off a broken arm for two near-MLB-ready infielders. look at the contributions Spencer Steer and CES had in 2023, versus the quarter season Mahle netted the Twins before hitting the 60-day and then free agency (without any comp picks attached, btw) and tell me the Twins weren't robbed in broad daylight.
While it's still a situation that's evolving, it's not likely to end badly for NY. NY sent Joey Gallo to the Dodgers in return for Clayton Beeder who seems to be a pretty decent RHP who may advance from the AAA level up to the Bronx late in 2024 or be a legit starter in 25.
And the Rangers got no-hit by no other than Kluber in their down year in 2021, I remembered seeing the score that day and I cringed so hard, like we would have got a elite closer to close down games in this postseason😂
I don't think this one is all that bad - Gurriel was just 1 year and Varsho is an elite defensive outfielder. Sure giving up Moreno is tough but Toronto has Kirk already.
Austin Hedges does great interviews. That has to count for something. 😂 Cardinal fans have to be pissed. They could have had Garcia and Randy Arozareno at the corner outfield slots.
Meh. Mariners got rid of 17M of Marco Gonzalez & Evan Whites bad contracts and lost out on Kelenics potential. But Kelenic has only had 2 good months in a three year career so far. The deal might be bad, but its far from assured.
Betts to Dodgers. The Red Sox have only Wong for a future HOF who came in 2nd NL MVP in 2023. Verdugo was traded to the Yankees. Downs is still bouncing around.
I considered it but the trade itself was for only one season of Mookie before the extension was signed. With that context I couldn’t add it but definitely considered 👍🏾
Mookie and Verdugo put up identical stats for two seasons and one got paid $10 million less. Verdugo did have a rough last season though. One of the prospects didn’t work out, the other did. Not a bad trade at all.
Garcia was also cut in 2021 by the Rangers so they could sign Mike Foltynewicz. They only brought Garcia back because R. Guzman got hurt. 😂
And the rest is history.

Dumb luck at it's finest basically LMFAO. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again! HAHAHA
Great video just subscribed

The Arenado trade was awful. It makes you numb as a Rockies fan. When you say the Rockies are stupid, you echo the sentiment of every Rockies fan.

Yeah I get it, you just wish they would’ve gotten one good starting pitcher for them! Worked with Bader at least!
And how many of those guys were All Stars this year, won ALCS MVP and hit 40 dingers?
The Reds got the Twins back in the Tyler Mahle trade where they only got 9 starts and gave up some really good players
Yeah that’s one I missed, thanks for the input!
Jonah Heim (Hime)
lol there was a lot of tough names in this video. I did a pronunciation thing for some but am going to be more thorough going forward 🫡
Him, Hym, yadda yadda, it all works haha.
@@PaintTheBlackBaseball Don't worry! We jokingly call Jonah Heim, Jonah Him! Because he is him! He is that guy! He has the DAWG in him!

Valid points were made and thanks for this analysis!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Mookie trade
Sean Murphy will be for 2023. Oh, and as part of the three-way. Milwaukee got William Contreras
Depends if Esteury Ruiz can hit enough to be a regular because you can’t teach his speed

U can add the Sean Murphy trade too lol. Although the Brewers did good

😂
Jays Diamondbacks Varsho - Gurriel jr and Moreno
I considered that one so good thinking!
Jays gave up one of the most talented young catchers in the game and quality hitter for a dude to hit .220 lol

Mannnn did I think Patino and Mejia were gonna be superstars. Maybe Patino will find something as a RP

Yeah that and the Sandy trade they have some head scratchers
mets trades in 2022. Mets got Vogelbach for Colin Holderman. And the mets traded with the giants giving up JD Davis + 3 others for darin ruf
I considered JD Davis but he kind of cooled off to the point I couldn’t
This about to happen with Braves & Kelenic
Yeah idk what the Mariners were thinking lol

How is the gray trade on here but the actual lopsided deal between the reds and twins (Mahle for Encarnacion-Strand, Hajjar, and Steer) isnt
1:14 thank you cardinals
What about the Mookie Betts deal
It was only for one season of Mookie in context. Can’t add extension years when that wasn’t parameters of the deal
everyone talks about the Chris Archer pirates trade
It was beyond 5 years or I would’ve!
Betts to Dodgers. The Red Sox have only Wong for a future HOF who came in 2nd NL MVP in 2023. Verdugo was traded to the Yankees. Downs is still bouncing around.
Um I don’t believe Cronenworth is slated to be the every day second basemen due to Ha-seong Kim with boegarts at SS and machado at 3B
What about Marcell Ozuna for Sandy Alcantara and Zac Gallen
Happened over five years ago but I was definitely wanting too lol
What about mookie betts tatis and yordan Alvarez
The cubs trading darvish was a salary dump
Still, he had a lot left in the tank so it was the wrong decision
Waldron is a Knuckleballer. He’ll be in the league until he’s 45
We need more knuckleballers! I miss Tim Wakefield!
No Mookie Betts trade?
If some one gets traded from my cardinals they instantly become a god
😂😂😂
Al Avila
He’s horrible lol
Worse trade was the one never made by the Angels Artie being Artie shitting the bed
New subscriber. Definitely gonna support one of mine talking about baseball 😎
✊🏾
Where’s the mets trade of JD David for Darren Ruff? That trade was awful
It was bad, but JD Davis isn’t enough of a game changer for me to make the list
And now Chapman on braves lol
Adolis is so much better than his brother Adonis
You ain’t lying there lol
Isaac Paredes and Austin Meadows trade
The As are a joke the owner should be forced to sale
Agreed!
Mookie Betts trade?

Ur pronouncing Jonah Heim wrong
