Revive - A Special Look at a Special Game!

- Looking for signs of life in new euro designs? Look no further than Revive, from Aporta Games. It has a little deck-building. It has exploration, and a sort of "re-building" of a civilization. It has intricate network of tracks--unlocking and activating variable powers for your unique tribe. Best yet, it seems to bring all of this together just beautifully.
Is this already in the running for one of the best games of 2022? We think it might be, but look for our full review coming from Jeremy Howard in the not too distant future!

30 seconds into the overview and I WANT! :D
I would love to hear more about the lore and how the mechanics tie into the theme. Where did these different factions come from? Why are we exploring? Why are we hibernating? Who are these characters on the cards? Where and what is this machine that is our player mat?
Thanks for the review!
I'm thinking that some of that lore might be revealed within the campaign narrative. We'll see.
I don't know which I want most...
To hear you guys talk about games, or play games with you guys. You're awesome! Thanks for totally hyping me on what could be a game of the year, without trying to sell it to me!
The good news is you can do both! If you ever come to one of our convention meetups we love to game with the community.
Ahh, I wonder when the playthrough is scheduled, please.
Cheers and good gaming.
Jeremy Howard is spending more time with the game for his review, but then maybe we can get it back in studio for a Round One. Fingers crossed.
It’s really fun. I’ve only played one game so far post essen and I am excited to see what the campaign will bring. Even without the campaign aspect though, it’s a really solid game.
Don't expect much of a "campaign" experience, but more like a 4-5 session build-up to what the game ultimately does. I've played it a few times more just in the last week or so, and I'm still loving it.
@@meeple Good to know, thanks!
How would you both rank the Essen-release games you’ve tried so far (e.g., Woodcraft, Tiletum, Revive, Beer and Bread)? Wondering which of these has the legs of a great game, if any, like an Ark Nova.
I think Revive is my top Essen release so far, for sure.
There’s a lot of interesting things going on in this game. I just hope it isn’t a case of the whole being less than the sum of its parts.
It's very much a beautiful combination of the parts (as you say). Of course we've only played a couple times, but everything is pointing toward this being one of our favorites between now and the end of the year.
Thanks a lot for this special look to this game that seems quite interesting. Is there a target date for EU market?
It’s an Essen release so it should be soon
This looks like great fun! So it will be awhile before it is available in the U.S.?
We're not 100% sure, but we'll try to get an answer for you.
Ordered as I could not get to Essen.
If it sounds interesting to you at all, I can't imagine you not really enjoying it. It's just continued to be a gem for us.
Looks so fun!
looks like a great game, but the visual are so... "overcharged ?" :/
wondering if the solo is any good
Great game :)
Indeed it is.
Wow - this has certainly changed since I tried a prototype last year. Great to see a more involved game from Aporta, can’t wait to get my hands on the final copy!
Whatever they changed, it works!
Basically want all the games that’s showing the covers behind you…
Ha! Yeah, it is a fortunate collection of upcoming releases. We're very lucky.
OMG
Your comment is quite fitting for this game.
How does this play at 2?
Plays great at 2! With very little downtime
I’ve only played at two and it’s fantastic. With two players there are a couple less artifacts to collect so the end game triggers at a normal time like a 3 or 4 player game.
