Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

Congrats Nathan, and although it is very generous of Greenmart and John Deere, there's a reason they reached out to you. You're very analytical, you're a science guy and a teacher and your input is undoubtably valuable. You earned this, no worries!
very DETAIL ORENTATED AND techy enuf to apprecieate the tech!!! too... and was able to talk about it on video::) was a smoooth marketing ploy!! :) we will be seeing that drone footage in mommmadeer's adz now??? LOL
Good to see a new Deere combine in the hands of an influencer. CaseIH had their AF machines with other influencers earlier this harvest season. Your excitement got me excited! IMO, best video on the X9 since it was introduced. Thank you! Good luck and stay safe the rest of this harvest season!
Glad to see these companies have recognize you and your channel,
Probably the best youtuber to have this combine for a day! 👍

The smile on your dad's face said everything about how awesome this machine is.
Awesome video . Thanks Xmark and Mother Deere .
This is one people will watch over and over…you are so excited!!!
Great channel for this demo
I laughed when you said one of the dealers guy was driving truck, that is proof they go above and beyond to make things as smooth as possible
Dads smile made me smile

I hope everyone watching this shares it and definitely gives it a thumbs up.
Awesome video!!!
That was great! Thank you all for the demo!
Great video, Nathan. We could see that the smile never left your face. Must be the Jonesville location is the ones who brought it out. Good for them.
The joy in your eyes Nathan ❤
RIGHT ON NATHAN!
Glade John Deere let you use that combine to see all the new techinolgy on the newer machines👍
I agree, Phil did a great job. I was concerned if that process could keep up. Phil busted it all day for sure.
That machine is insane!!! what a beast....unreal....
That was a pretty cool day!
Thanks Nathan! And Your Family and Service You were Really Excited!
What a corn eating machine!!! Very happy you could start at the top size machine and work down. Thanks to all the crew that made this possible.
Waited very patiently for this video!
He says he isn’t in the market but his excitement says different lol!!
Thanks to Alex , Greenmart and John Deere for this great opportunity! How many acres do you have to run for it to make financial sense? JD would love to sell the satellite tech as an upgrade for older machines to many farmers. Does it work in overcast weather? Nathan, I'm pleased that it opened you to new possibilities in your operation. It was a great demo video, a rush in more ways than one. Looking forward to tomorrows relaxing pace!
Glad you got the opportunity to try this machine and show us. with your current bin setup would be curious what a 12 row head would be like.
John Deere promotion at it best!! Wow!!!
Congratulations Nathan. Really happy for you and dad!!
Great video Nathan. If it works out let's talk to your dad some more. Shame your mom couldn't have came out and rode with your dad. AGAIN GREAT VIDEO NATHAN.
TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE !!!
Been with you from the beginning, so happy 2 c your Chanel is getting the reaction from dealers
Great video. Love the demo thank you John Deere. The 8 row head is going to feel small tomorrow.
Love the drone footage!! Thanks for letting me ride along!!😊
So huge so Cool great video thanks again.8 row will be smai later today 😂😂😂
You had a big Combine until Today !! 😁😁😁 Always look forward to your Channel love the Content !! But you really need to farm up and at least get a 12 row … I really think your farm can adjust to it !!
This was an awesome video, your excitement was priceless 😂😂
Came for the video, stayed for the comment section
That was awesome!
Wow, looked like you were speeding through that corn! Awesome video today Nathan!
Awesome video awesome machine loved the video
Good morning, Yep, it was an exciting day for the farm.
You’ll love the x-9. We run those with the 16 row corn head
Awesome, think of a new word
Great video. Congratulations on the demo of that beast. Great job of explaining everything like always.
Could be the longest duration viral farm video on the Internet 😂... X9 will surely get some extra clicks.
Well deserved demo for yall. Thanks GreenMart! Enjoyed watching this beast work!!!! Sure would cause changes in farm operation to keep up!
"its time for a major rebuild on our 8 row head" NOOOOOOO lets trade it on a 12 row hehehehe
Oh yeah Nathan just changed his mind after all these years lol
Your Dad is right, still go 4mph to do a good job!
Unbelievable how much stalk goes thru the combine on a head with hydraulic deck plates. Crazy.
Get a Drago...😅
Thanks for video!
Will the S series also have this automation next year? Awesome job of showing off the equipment!
Yes the new S7 series will have the same technology
how do you only have 31k subs?
No drama llamas characters for clicks is my guess. Just high quality life on the farm.
Best channel by far
We run 2 of them and love them.
Excellent video! Awesome combine and opportunity to run that X9-1100.
Thanks for the video
Great video. Quite the time saver.
Congratulations! You know you want one bad now. 😮 I'll bet you're already working on the justification
You talk about a "once in a lifetime experience" for you, imagine what it was for your dad and uncle? I'll bet mom got tired of hearing about it by bedtime, lol. What I observed, and it concerns me, the days of being able to work on your own equipment will be long gone. I'm not sure what that bodes for the future of farming. FFA Indy!!
I think you’re gunna learn you can keep up with a 12 row head. That 8 row is gunna feel tiny tomorrow! Love the videos man keep them coming!
🤦♂️😂. C-16F😂. Ouch 16 row on 24row planter😢 take half passes to let BROCK CATCH UP. Thanks NATHAN !
Great video good to see y'all
If you have 3 Hopper Bottoms and Most Farms are LESS than 8-10 Miles, and have 2 Drivers with a Grain Cart Operator, you will be fine with a 12 Row Head, as long as you Grain Facility can handle it.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, in Harvest there are SO Many Factors that need to be in Place to Reduce the Harvest Bottlenecks. Do you have Enough Trucks, do you have a Big Enough Grain Cart, do you have a Full Time Crew for Trucks & Grain Cart, do you have a Big Enough Drag/Pit & Bucket Elevator, do you have a Big Enough Wet Storage Tank, do you have a Big Enough Dryer, do you have Enough Dry Corn Storage. SO Many Different Factors that have to come into play.
O’Neils are running a 16 Row on a S770 Combine, if they can do it in Nebraska Hills I would think your S780 should handle it just Fine.
I would like to see you run Claas 8700 with a 16 Row Head, Claas 8800 with a 18 Row Head or the BEAST Claas 8900 with a 24 Row Head…those are REAL Twin Rotor Corn Eating Machines!
I'm watching it on R F D tv
68,000 kids and guest.
I'm same as you FFA did a lot for me . I help judge state awards for 15 years .
I was a pretty lucky kid to be in FFA and be around Howard's operations. Later to work for him for almost 4 years.
Definitely gave me the bug for agriculture . Hobby farmed for 20 years. It was all great till my back took a shit. Oh well still get to see it every day though
Boarder View and other RUclips
Good morning from Siesta Key Florida
Oh My That Belt would Break My Cheek Book!
Great job of the video
Your welcome.
Better than the row of shame
Hahaha you’re going to need a fleet of trucks to keep up with that corn eating monster!!
Very Cool!
Great machine.
Yesterday I came very close to saying I’d enjoy more 45 minute - 60 minute videos.
This one was fantastic.
Longer videos!! 😎🇺🇸
Awesome video!!
Awesome!
We just demoed that exact same combine last week in northern Indiana through greenmark. We ran a cr 11 yesterday and it put the x9 to shame.
Maybe but I don't know how you could possibly be disappointed with what that combine can do
@BorderViewFarms oh I was very impressed we all were. We weren't expecting the cr 11 to be able to do what it did though. We were steadily running 8,500-9,000 bushel an hour with it. And about 7,000 with the x9. Both are absolutely amazing machines. We currently run a s780 and ideal 9 and both were out doing what our 2 machines can do.
@@adrenalinecoastersoutdoorsthe CR11 will beat a Deere hands down. Engines don't blow up either
New holland makes plenty of unreliable shit@@nigelgribble8736
Great video Nathan, really enjoy how you explain everything. Think I’ll stick with my s670 😉
Good morning
That was one "short" happy hour video! Wow!
Well I don't know about all at BVF's but I've got a huge smile on my face.
Lets gooo!
Good on Deere for once as of lately. 1196 and those trailers are a perfect match. Triples are where a 1300 is key. As for 12row we are a lot more efficient in breaking through with the long auger. It was a lot of jacking around picking over to make a new land and even with 1/2 mile rows we’d have to pick over with the 8 row and the big top. No pits but the 2 trucks are keeping up with the combine pretty well. All the point rows you have will make a huge difference.
If your boys decide to go into farming, just imagine what the equipment will look like when they reach the age you're at now. They'll probably take it the field and operate it from their truck or back at the office.
Excellent video! Excellent review of the X9 1100. I can only give you one 👍 up on tv so I’ll give you nine more 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 to get you to 10 for 10.
What a great video
A Million bucks and you can have one too Nathan
Add more than that, would need a bigger grain cart and probably a bigger tractor to pull it, hahaha!
Laura Farms is running a 16 row head on their 870 this year.
SWEET !
Great video Nathan i loved every minute 💪💪💪👍😎😎
Heck ya!
Very impressive
Nathan the combine pimp.
That was ausome video of the demo of that x9 thanks to greenmart for doing that and all the people that was there i would have liked to seen it running in person looks like a very impressive machine thank you bvf for the great video
You must wanted to wash that combine real bad lol, great machine
Cool video!!
It’s nice Deere got rid of the chains for the unloading auger. The chains and clutch on our s series is not great.
Laura of Laura Farms is running a 16 row head on their S780. Don't think it's a folding head and yes they are running quite a bit slower than the X9. 👍👍👍
Watching this in the hotel in Indy 👍
Gona need some more truck drivers now 😅
