You miss your childhood don't you? Your not the only one but I guess you have a memory that can help you if your not in the mood sometimes our memories can be the best person to make us happy and god
This reminds me of the old days of RUclips when I watched DanTDM, PopularMMOs, Aphmau, and so many more. They raised me to be who I am today and I'm so happy for that
I have a very distinct memory of me and my friends skipping class one afternoon. We hid behind the church, which had a wide view of the open fields. For a few hours, we goofed around, compared MP3 players and music libraries, complained about homework. It's the first time I've actually had a proper "golden hour" experience; everything looked so picturesque, surrounded by gold fields and laughing friends. Moved into the city for college, and somewhere along that, we all lost contact with each other. A couple got left behind, one left for abroad, and I barely saw the other friend that also went to college until our connection eventually fell off as we got more serious into our careers. I'm now doing graduate school and that one afternoon from years ago is still such a vivid memory. This song perfectly captured that feeling of growing older and looking back at childhood memories and connections that shaped who we are today regardless of how life had turned out. Ed is such a fantastic songwriter.
You are blessed. I was born in 1953. Grew up hiding under our desks, fulling expecting an atom bomb dropping on our heads. Fear was instilled in us. We didn’t know to question govt or media. Then when I was a teenager I experienced 10 years of Vietnam. Saw friends go away and never come back. My husband was drafted. We were 19. Got engaged when he left. He was killed in VM. HE was 20 years old. Be happy you aren’t living during a war. Many of us will never forget that.
No one will see this but this song reminds me of how I feel returning home after I moved, 3 solid years I haven’t seen my friends, lost them all, I still remember the mountains and beautiful stuff, it’s more of a city place but still, beautiful
When I hear this song, I think of the people who helped me grow into the person I am today. The tv shows, the characters I could relate to the lessons I’ve learned. This song makes me thank them. Also I first was exposed to this song during the Httyd 3 trailer. Just watched in it again. And started crying.
Everytime I hear this, I remember all the good times I had with my friends, smiling together, crying together, playing together..this brings tears to my eyes
I first heard this song in a trailer for How to Train your Dragon: Hidden World and now it will always remind me of that movie and that franchise. It also makes me cry of both nostalgia and bittersweetness cause this is one of the franchises i grew up on and i'm only 15

This song has always makes me remember the times me and my friends/family rolled down the grassy hills, watched the sunset on the beach together...I miss those days when there was so much joy and love. But there is still so much of it around in this world, you'll just have to look for it real hard. And find the right person that brings you joy☺️
@StarFirePlays it's sad seeing how new generations are less caring about most things than back in the early 2010,s. Back in those days, people had no issues. But with how tik tok and other things are. The more and more new generations come. My Generations from 2003 through 2021 were the last generation that understood things.
3:30 the way the music changed to slow and sad broke me. It reminded me of the time my dog ran away and i had 2 or 3 dreams about him returning, but it was the last one that made me wake up nearly bawling. I was outside walking around in my dream and i saw him running over to me. I fell to my knees and hugged him and told him about how i missed him so much and i dont ever want him to leave again, then i said, "I really hope this isnt a dream..." And i swear my dog looked at me with the saddest eyes like he was saying im so sorry... I the woke up...cold and alone... "Im on my way, i still remembe these old country lanes..."
This brings so much memorys that i started crying when i fully listened to it a few times which i never cry that easy about something like that. I love this so its so nostalgic
When I was six years old I broke my leg I was running from my brother and his friends And tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass I rolled down I was younger then Take me back to when I found my heart and broke it here Made friends and lost them through the years And I’ve not seen the roaring fields in so long I know I’ve grown But I can’t wait to go home I’m on my way Driving at 90 down those country lanes Singing to “Tiny Dancer” And I miss the way You make me feel And it’s real When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill Fifteen years old and smoking hand-rolled cigarettes Running from the law through the backfields and getting drunk with my friends Had my first kiss on a Friday night I don’t reckon that I did it right I was younger then, Take me back to when We found weekend jobs, when we got paid We’d buy cheap spirits and drink them straight Me and my friends have not thrown up in so long Oh, how we’ve grown But I can’t wait to go home I’m on my way Driving at 90 down those country lanes Singing to “Tiny Dancer” And I miss the way You make me feel And it’s real When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill Over the castle on the hill Over the castle on the hill One friend left to sell clothes One works down by the coast One had two kids but lives alone One’s brother overdosed One’s already on his second wife One’s just barely getting by But these people raised me And I can’t wait to go home And I’m on my way I still remember these old country lanes When we did not know the answers And I miss the way You make me feel And it’s real When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill Over the castle on the hill Over the castle on the hill

I relate to this song. Where I grew up (Launceston Cornwall) I used to sit in the fields watching the sunset over the castle on the hill. It was beautiful, all the lyrics I can relate to.
This song just reminds me of my own childhood do me a favour and blow this comment up with some joy to take em back to when I listneded to this cause now I’m on my way❤❤❤
"Take me back when ..." This song hit me the day before I accomplished a life goal: getting my heart back. We go through so many disappointments that we put a shield up around the scattered pieces of ourselves. This song is about finally bringing those shields down because our hearts are full again. The things that our childhood wonders turned into energy come back into focus. Things are different now. Much older but when we have our full selves back the roads no matter the storm aren't as intimidating as they uaed to be.

When I was six years old I broke my leg
I was running from my brother and his friends
And tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass I rolled down
I was younger then
Take me back to when
I found my heart and broke it here
Made friends and lost them through the years
And I’ve not seen the roaring fields in so long
I know I’ve grown
But I can’t wait to go home
I’m on my way
Driving at 90 down those country lanes
Singing to “Tiny Dancer”
And I miss the way
You make me feel
And it’s real
When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill
Fifteen years old and smoking hand-rolled cigarettes
Running from the law through the backfields and getting drunk with my friends
Had my first kiss on a Friday night
I don’t reckon that I did it right
I was younger then,
Take me back to when
We found weekend jobs, when we got paid
We’d buy cheap spirits and drink them straight
Me and my friends have not thrown up in so long
Oh, how we’ve grown
But I can’t wait to go home
I’m on my way
Driving at 90 down those country lanes
Singing to “Tiny Dancer”
And I miss the way
You make me feel
And it’s real
When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill
Over the castle on the hill
Over the castle on the hill
One friend left to sell clothes
One works down by the coast
One had two kids but lives alone
One’s brother overdosed
One’s already on his second wife
One’s just barely getting by
But these people raised me
And I can’t wait to go home
And I’m on my way
I still remember these old country lanes
When we did not know the answers
And I miss the way
You make me feel
And it’s real
When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill
Over the castle on the hill

In my opinion this song just brings back memories bro :,)
I relate to this song. Where I grew up (Launceston Cornwall) I used to sit in the fields watching the sunset over the castle on the hill. It was beautiful, all the lyrics I can relate to.
You ran from the law when you where 15?

"Take me back when ..." This song hit me the day before I accomplished a life goal: getting my heart back. We go through so many disappointments that we put a shield up around the scattered pieces of ourselves. This song is about finally bringing those shields down because our hearts are full again. The things that our childhood wonders turned into energy come back into focus. Things are different now. Much older but when we have our full selves back the roads no matter the storm aren't as intimidating as they uaed to be.
I love this song ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
