Can you point to a list of the install commands? I have an R710 plus proxmox, want to spin up some nodes and would make my day if I could just c&p commands....
I'm running 4 Cumulus nodes. Added two recently since Flux was so cheap. It's not a great return right due to the halving earlier this year and the low Flux price but still the costs of power is like 7 watts per day per node. I wish the 10TB option was more accessible. Also worth noting the fees relating to exchanging PA Flux to Flux is really high and really hits its earnings
Basic question do you use QOS to make sure you have dedicated internet bandwith guaranted going to those VMs? in case you open stream or p2p services which could suck it up the bandwidth!!!!
Good vid...one quick suggestion. If on the 'Guided Storage Configuration' page you uncheck the 'Set up this disk as an LVM group' you can avoid messing around with all the stuff on that File System Summary page. It will just use the whole drive you created and be done with it. LVM is good if you need to resize volumes and such after the fact, but in this case it's not really needed.
Nice job on the video. I should have made this video a long time ago... pretty much the story of my channel. LOL. Couple of things of note that I have run into: Make sure to limit the drive speed of each VM in Proxmox. I have run into many times when the drive didn't meet benchmark because multiple nodes benchmarked at the same time. This happens many more times than the upload speed being an issue in my experience.
Thanks Max. I know how it goes. The competing priorities of getting stuff done for your own sake + the extra time it would take to make a video on it. I was silently hanging out in your livestream last night. 3090 FOMO. Thanks for the comment buddy.
Hey Mike, thanks for the intel... q: what would the operating cost vs node revenue? I can only assume the electrical use might outweigh your profits. It would be interesting to see how a virtual host compares to paying the hydro.
Thanks Mike! I need to disable all my manual port forwarding to run multiple at home, but still tempted... almost to a stratus in mined flux though. maybe just waiting for that and running one. :/
Congratulations for your videos. I have a question regarding Flux nodes: I have had a Cumulus node at home for some time. The rewards are directly credited to my Zelcore wallet. But unless I'm mistaken, I see that the parallel assets generated by the node are not automatically credited. It looks like I have to claim them. I can't find the info. Do you know how to proceed? Thanks in advance
Thanks buddy. Youre right you do have to claim them. In ZelCore go to Apps>Fusion and then on the top right enter the menu and you'll see the ability to claim parallel mining rewards.
Where do you have your proxmox booted to ? usd stick ? i bought a server and want to start 2 flux node but i didnt feel the trays with ssds only 2 of them. so if i install proxmox on on ssd i can only have one node at the time right ? so is better running proxmox on a usb stick ? im knew to this sorry for so much questions
Prox is on its own SSD. You essentially then give proxmox the other SSD as a resource. When you create virtual machines you can split how much of the other SSD to to give each VM. Get a big enough 2nd SSD to be able to split it to run each node.
@@RedFoxCrypto i have a dell poweredge r620 with 2 800Gb ssd , now the issues is that my screen will go black and wont change when proxmox comes up. losing my mind was up all night hahaha

@RedFoxCrypto. I hope you are doing well. Thanks for the video on how to get a node set up. I have had a FluxNode up and running for over a week. It's been in a "Flux is working correctly" the entire time. How long does it take to pay the node rewards?
So my computer blew up, got a new one got logged back into elkhor and I'm in the flux node area where the bottom shows "My Flux Nodes" however it's empty. Pretty sure I lost at all now but I'm hoping for any advice if any. I'm pretty sure I saved a file to my hard drive that was my backup file, which I no longer have..
Are you running any Flux Nodes? Which ones? I really wish I could run a Fractus Node at home...
I ran 3 Proxmox servers (3x7 cumulus nodes) ran great until my Zelcore wallet was hacked and i had 21000 flux stolen,,, NEVER Zelcore again !
I would like to run Stratus nodes at home, but with the VPN and the hardware that is required it is not so easy 😢

Hello, 👋 am self hosting 2 nodes currently on two physical micro computers, a dell and an Hp… just adding as I can, can’t wait to get to 8!

Awesome video, Red Fox!!
This is Fluxing Amazing !!!
Where are the commands you paste in to terminal? Can't find them in the description :(

Best bet is to use the 2 setup guides I link in the description. You can also clone the first node to make setup faster on the other ones.
Thank you for your work and video 😊

Depends on the type of node. Lower tier nodes will get paid out less often.
@@RedFoxCrypto Thanks so much for the reply.
How much MB download per month each cumulus node?

Hey Red Fox!! More vids please 😀
Working on it! Going for 1 a week right now. Have the next one almost ready to go.

This video took so long. Watching myself just get more and more tired as the night rolled on...
You're a perfectionist, can't ask for anything more.
What are you using as your server? Rack mounted or tower style
Are the payouts every time you're at the front of the queue or can it be changed say to monthly or quarterly?
Dell R710 rack mount @@gnvbnd13
@@gnvbnd13 Payouts are at the front of the queue.
I'm running 8 cumulus. Have more flux for more nodes but am limited to 8 :////
Why are you limited to 8?
I could handle 87$/day off the big one.
Might not be a bad idea while flux is cheap
nah staking is for suckers and flux is a centralized as development group with shady intentions
