I came up with a mod that I haven't seen anyone else do yet. I took a shot 20 ton bottle jack apart and removed the center cylinder with the manual screw shaft. I then cut off the crooked press shaft harbor freight had mounted, and welded the guts from the old shaft in its place. Now I can make fine adjustment to the length of the press shaft without having to fight the springs and screw shaft on the top of my pneumatic jack.

Very professional mods! I am interested in how you made the foot pedal.

Sir: Nice press! Does your crank and boat gliders raise the plate/ base table evenly? Some (most) harbor freight presses have slop in the base table in relation to the frame. When you added your grade eight hardware, did you address the fit and did you do any other modifications to reduce the slop? My assumption is that slop and the design of the rigging for the winch system could induce uneven lifting of the base table (side or top mount lifting…dual cables, one each side…. Or single pulley vs double pulley solutions). v/r wh

It raises the table evenly because the winch is actually mounted to the table on one end and the cable goes to the other table end. I am not sure what you mean by "slope"?
