I'd say that I could hear a mix of both Cash's and Cohen's voices in Frank's singing.
When I was 19 I would often listen to this song on the bus on my way to visit my dad in the hospital when he was going through treatment for leukemia. Thanks for the beautiful cover.

My grandmother passed 2 days ago and this appeared on my recommended, I don’t think I’ve cried this hard in my life, this cover is beautiful and shows how people from older generations can appreciate music today and put their own gorgeous spin on the song, I know she would have loved this and wouldn’t have believed this to be “new music” I just wish I could show her this and enjoy it together, I love you so much grandma rose, I miss you too much❤️

Good songwriting is good songwriting. You can take the song and change it to any instruments while still sounding special, it's a well written song. Damon Albarn is an amazing songwriter, and it's definitely not just limited to young people!

I also think this is great. It seems like if you put the capo up one or two frets your voice would be more comfortable. Seems like your right on the edge of your range on those low notes. Awesome cover all the same.

You have turned an already emotional, beautiful song into something more and its incredible. Your voice reminds me of my own grandfather who I unfortunately cannot see, as he used to sing songs when I slept over at his house when I was young. Nostalgic...
I don't want to say much, but life has been overwhelming recently as I begin to prep for college. To cope, I've started to explore new song genres, and a revisit of Gorillaz (I used to listen to some of their popular songs growing up) was apart of that. On Melancholy Hill helps calm me down in times of dire stress.

I remember plastic beach being the first CD I ever bought and I instantly fell in love with Melancholy Hill. I remember when I was making my first drive to move to another state for school, I blasted this song almost none stop since bluetooth/Aux cords were still a new thing and my car didnt have it. This melody off and on became somewhat of a background song for most my early adult years. I still go back to it from time to time for a bit of nostalgia and comfort. Hearing someone play it in such a somber way, almost vocalizing the way this song makes me feel inside is such a good feeling. Thank you for doing this cover, I really enjoyed it.
