What kind of parallel universe was that? Suppressed 500 magnum, sub sonic rounds, no watermelon time and a clean still standing table!! Well At least he’s still riding the world of furbies 🤣
A 99.98% of revolers made will always have blow by, unless it is a gascheck revolver like the Mosin Nagant 7.62 gas check revolver. So you could make one with a tiny cylinder gap, but be very sensitive to grit, fouling, and cylinder wear. A good example of how quiet a pistol caliber carbine efficiency could be is a Delile carbine. A 45 Acp. Pistol round carbine based on P 14 rifles with barrels , ported with an integrated suppressor, at Fireing it was supposedly very quiet no one could not hear it from 20 feet Way. The bolt cycling made more noise than the actual firing of the round.
That gun is sick! I’m a lil disappointed that you didn’t shoot a full power round through the suppressed gun so we could hear the difference, and a subsonic through the raging bull would have been sweet too! Still a great vid as always sir ✊🏼
I'm guessing that it would need an unreasonable sized can to suppress a full load cartridge. You may have to wait for an episode of "when suppressors go boom" for that one. I do think he should have shot a sub sonic through the unsuppressed revolver, though.
To be fair 500 magnum makes sense as subsonic. You can use a very heavy bullet and still have plenty of room for enough powder to keep it as close to the sound barrier as possible. It's the sort of round to get the maximum possible foot pounds whilst still being subsonic.
As another said, I'd love to have seen the full 500 load in the suppressed revolver compared with the standard full load in the non-suppressed revolver. This was kind of like comparing a suppressed 50 caliber muzzle loader to a unsuppressed 50 BMG. Loved the intro thought!
Unfortunately even without the supressor the sound difference would be massive shooting super sonic and sub sonic ammo, to truly see the difference the supressor makes he should fire subs thru both guns one suppressed, one not.😊
Very informative and entertaining. I was curious myself regarding velocity drop so I looked up S&W .500 magnum, and tried to get as close to equal as I could. Both Horandy .350g flat nose. Subsonic was 1,425 and supersonic 1,725. It looks like it recoils and sounds like a .22lr. I never knew companies were producing single action army clones in .500 mag! You guys and Brandon Herrera have filled the fun and knowledge void for me left after FPS Russia disappeared.

Cool! It would have been interesting to see the full power 600gr shot from the suppressed one, though. I think that subsonic round was severely neutered to the point where it doesn't even deserve to be called "magnum" anymore 😂 And I wonder if it was shooting low because it was baffle striking
@@fhe3220 Definitely possible. I assumed with his knowledge/skills with shooting he would take that into account, but maybe he's not used to shooting a revolver with a red dot so he forgot lol
Put a suppressor on anything and you need to sight in and adjust for any weird play. My Taurus tx22 shot about 1in right after putting my suppressor on but was dead on when it was off. Some of my other guns like my ppks only shot about 1/2 in down/right. If he were to change ammo it would help a bit but still be off and possibly a different direction.
If youre gonna keep posting comments on every video on the internet, you'll soon turn into the new... What was the guy's name again? Completely forgot his name. But he made 100s of comments a day.
It is just amazing the difference in visible recoil between the two guns with their respective ammo. The Taurus really jumps in Scott's hand in the the slow-mo to the point where it almost looks ready to jump out of the palm, the Magnum Research barely moves in comparison.
ITS DRAAGOOONNFRUit time… Scott’s humour just absolutely buckles me I love it, been watching for years and you never fail to make me laugh. Keep it up Scott 🤙🏻🤙🏻
The sound difference between the two was way more than i expected. However, the power loss with the suppressed was also more than expected. With the zombie torso it still has the stopping power needed, and might not wake the neigghbors. :)
the power loss was due to him using subsonic ammo, suppressors actually marginally increase muzzle velocity (I do mean marginally, IIRC 1-2% increase, completely negligible)
holy cow, what ive always wanted in terms of firearms. a revolver, preferably small, with a thick as hell supressor and idc if it actually suppresses at all lol but thats the only attatchment

So..... 2 tables? Video presented out of order? You decide.

As a war historian, Firearm nerd and Gunsmith in training, there are a few revolvers that can be suppressed. Most notable being the Nagant revolver as it fixes the chamber problem by modifying the cylinder to move forward after spinning and kiss the barrel inlet and the rounds it fired designed to seal inside so that all the gass went into barrel allowing for full usage and later during WW2 adding a suppressor to it.
Didn't they have one in Vietnam for tunnel rats? I think it was a s&w 17 38spl or similar. Except for the smithing part, I'm a ballistics guy and war nerd too
@@disturbedlife5691 well hello fellow war nerd. Aye they did for dealing with tunnel rats. It was a modified model 10 and model 17. They used 44 and 38 but the main difference were the piston rounds developed by AAI at the time combined with the suppressor combined with the piston round firing steel disks. So the revolvers became tiny revolver shotguns. They said it was only useful to about 20-25ft to my knowledge.

I like all your videos because you given a 100'% on the destruction dramatics with out holding back for a minute well done we love your posts second to none 👍💚
That wasn’t a .500 Magnum. It was a .500 Vaginitis. Seriously, just because you load a .500 magnum bullet in a .500 Magnum case, doesn’t mean you’re shooting .500 Magnum. I can make 10mm feel like .22LR by only loading 5 grains of powder instead of 13. But when my 155gr bullet is only moving at 700fps instead of 1400fps, is it really still 10mm? I would say no.
Two standouts from this video: The 500 Magnum featured is absolutely gorgeous. Can't believe they were able to close the cylinder gap so well. And second; the slo-mo footage, yet again, is completely amazing. We keep getting treated with so many great captures in a single video~! Thanks, Scott~!
It would’ve been good to get a decibel meter to measure the difference in loudness between the two, that would’ve given the actual difference, and you could’ve quoted the difference in distance it would’ve been heard from (no wind scenario), which would’ve been an interesting thing to know. Great video as always 👍
Decibel meters that can measure gun shots are VERY expensive. Talking x,xxx-xx,xxx prices. You can’t use a standard meter because a gunshots impulse is so short and loud that the mics and electronics can’t respond fast enough and the numbers it picks up are all over the place.
Just the difference between sub and super sonic makes a pretty big difference. You can SEE how much more gas is coming out of the Raging Hunter, and all that expanding gas makes noise.
That suppressed Magnum is obviously a good choice for concealed carry. Get a good holster and no one will be able to tell you have anything on you. I'm sure that suppressor wont be much impediment to a quickdraw either. 😉 On a side note, you should have fired subsonics from the other revolver to make a true comparison. I'm no expert but the powder loads should be different for that variation in ammunition no?
I'm not sure how long I've been watching Kentucky ballistics but I remember the videos when I started watching Scott was just doing comparison videos of different ammo manufacturers and shooting at ballistic gel. Now he's his own sponsor. 👍
You know, I'm less concerned about the "oh the cylinder gap makes revolvers difficult to suppress" And more concerned about the "You managed to find a big enough suppressor for that thing?!"
On camera the suppressed one sounds like it's somewhere between .22LR and 5.56. Edit: The best part about point-blanking the Furby is that the muzzle blast makes them look like they're going "OH SHI-" just before the bullet hits 🤣

@@scottydoesntno Why? It makes for an awful trigger pull, would need special ammo to even function correctly (nagant ammo has a long bizzare looking case to cover the remaining gap) for what exactly? Looks fun. For some reason, I didn't think you even can suppress revolvers, but in retrospect, I'm not sure why I even thought that makes sense. Have you ever considered getting one of those decibel measuring thingies? Would be interesting to see how that kind of suppression works out in hard numbers.
👍👍Great video as always, Scott! That is a VERY impressive custom revolver setup! I'd wager Magnum Research could sell that as a BFRUP (Biggest *Finest* Revolver Ultimate Precision - or - "Beefer-Up" as a slang name) in their model lineup. I'm sure in person, the difference was even more profound than it was on video, as the camera doesn't pick up a lot of sonic detail or the true intensity of a .500Magnum round firing - especially from a ported barrel. The first-round "pop", as-always, was still evident with the suppressed gun, but, not as bad as I expected. I would have liked to have seen what kind of cylinder gap gas ejection occurred on it with a regular (supersonic) loaded round. A side-by-side noise comparison between supers in suppressed vs. non-suppressed guns would've also been interesting. I'd bet that the suppressed gun firing supers would have a very cool supersonic crack-boom, rather than a massive thumping boom like the ported Taurus, or any typical .500Mag. What kind of parallel universe was that? Suppressed 500 magnum, sub sonic rounds, no watermelon time and a clean still standing table!! Well At least he’s still riding the world of furbies 🤣
I think we are accidentally bearing witness to a video that was uploaded by a different Scott out there in the Multiverse.
Remember...he got in trouble with M.A.T.T. lol
He probably likes eggplants in this parallel universe as well.
"At least he’s still riding the world of furbies" - Where is he riding the world to?
Still a great vid as always sir ✊🏼
bunch of PR bull wouldn't show us the speed either a 9mm would do more damage than that suppressed "500 Magnum"
@@clintmiller88yeah the subsonic load seemed very anemic.
yea, I'm with you .....I honestly don't get why he didn't.
I'm guessing that it would need an unreasonable sized can to suppress a full load cartridge. You may have to wait for an episode of "when suppressors go boom" for that one. I do think he should have shot a sub sonic through the unsuppressed revolver, though.
He definitely should have done the sound comparison with the same subsonic ammo. Rather redundant not to
To be fair 500 magnum makes sense as subsonic. You can use a very heavy bullet and still have plenty of room for enough powder to keep it as close to the sound barrier as possible. It's the sort of round to get the maximum possible foot pounds whilst still being subsonic.
Where have you gone, used to watch your channel a lot?
Would have loved to see some min maxing with some custom loads 😂
@@burnsie82821😮😅🎉
.500 Mag in SA? Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Pict rail looks suprisly good. Wow that's impressive suppression sir!
As another said, I'd love to have seen the full 500 load in the suppressed revolver compared with the standard full load in the non-suppressed revolver. This was kind of like comparing a suppressed 50 caliber muzzle loader to a unsuppressed 50 BMG.
Loved the intro thought!
Yeah why in the hell didn't he do that. I don't understand
Wow I'm quite impressed with how quiet that 500 was compared to the unsuppressed.
Unfortunately even without the supressor the sound difference would be massive shooting super sonic and sub sonic ammo, to truly see the difference the supressor makes he should fire subs thru both guns one suppressed, one not.😊
12:38 You can't just not love Scott with those reactions
That revolver is beautiful. I appreciate all its technical details, but it also just looks awesome.
Looks like a oversized Colt SAA tbh
Very informative and entertaining. I was curious myself regarding velocity drop so I looked up S&W .500 magnum, and tried to get as close to equal as I could. Both Horandy .350g flat nose. Subsonic was 1,425 and supersonic 1,725.
It looks like it recoils and sounds like a .22lr.
I never knew companies were producing single action army clones in .500 mag!
You guys and Brandon Herrera have filled the fun and knowledge void for me left after FPS Russia disappeared.
@@SimuLord Very interesting and insightful, I never thought to articulate it like that until you worded it like that. I could always see that though. I still watch Ian to this day.
That sure is one powerful cleaning cloth you have there Scott. It managed to repair the numerous holes you blasted in the table-top as well as cleaning up all that glue! Most impressive!
Keep it up, fellow Kentuckian. You represent us well!
Scott your intros never disappoint, and the content itself is perfect.
Cool! It would have been interesting to see the full power 600gr shot from the suppressed one, though. I think that subsonic round was severely neutered to the point where it doesn't even deserve to be called "magnum" anymore 😂
And I wonder if it was shooting low because it was baffle striking
It was shooting low, because the site was so high above the barrel for as close as he was.
@@fhe3220 Definitely possible. I assumed with his knowledge/skills with shooting he would take that into account, but maybe he's not used to shooting a revolver with a red dot so he forgot lol
I was thinking the same... or run the subs through the Taurus
Put a suppressor on anything and you need to sight in and adjust for any weird play. My Taurus tx22 shot about 1in right after putting my suppressor on but was dead on when it was off. Some of my other guns like my ppks only shot about 1/2 in down/right. If he were to change ammo it would help a bit but still be off and possibly a different direction.
so .50 special?
You can always rely on Scott to provide quality intro skits with great banter

Honestly the most aesthetically pleasing aspect of that gun is the fact its almost all matte black it looks AMAZING!
Literally knocked furbie out of his eyes 😂 He went flying backwards as his eyes stayed in the same place 😂
Just like a cartoon
Can't get enough of his sounds of pure joy after each shot :D
unsupressed: HOHOHOHOHO, suppressed: HAHAHAHAHA 😂
The first time I've ever seen Scott let a table live. I've gotten so used to "Oh my God, they killed Table, you bastards"
Those bottles of glue have to be some of the most interesting slow motion targets I have ever seen, crazy how it reacts in the air
holy cow, what ive always wanted in terms of firearms. a revolver, preferably small, with a thick as hell supressor and idc if it actually suppresses at all lol but thats the only attatchment
I really appreciate the respect for that table. Some poor soul had to assemble it and they appreciate it too.
You weren't paying attention.
At 7:20 and 10:12 you can clearly see at least 4 holes in the table---as well as in the table he is washing off, though they are harder to spot, but at the end AND when he breaks out the t-rex, you don't see any.
So..... 2 tables? Video presented out of order? You decide.

Hey Scott! I was recently on a trip to Southern Ohio, and we stopped by Kentucky to see what it was like. Gotta say it was a beautiful state, wonderful forests, and not gonna lie, I was keeping an eye out for a particular Dinosaur in the woods while on the road! LMAO love the vids!
You, Brandon, And Donut don't have to try to be cool. You just are. Don't stop being you, brother.
Scott has way too much fun making these videos! Keep it up! Love watching them!
Is no one gonna talk about how he spared a table from getting deleted from existence?
The cameraman even seemed surprised.
My step daughter was not impressed, she said and I quote "he missed the table, that's not good 😡" 😅
right....😂
That tables worth millions on EBAY as the one that got away.
A crime has been committed. That table laughs at Scott and will now grow more tables to torment him in future videos.
Hey Scott I'm new to the channel my nephew got me watching and I like it. I love how you and your dad gets along so good. Keep up the awesome work. Glad you made a great recovery from the accident
on the times from 7:46-8:11 I like the sound of the targets in slow motion when they get shot. keep up the good work man.
The suppression has gone to his head...he let a table survive and no watermelon (though the dragon fruit was quite reactive)!!! I think we need an intervention. 🤣 Great video as always, thanks Scott! 😜
8:08 that is such a trippy sound, the slow mo impact of the bullets on the targets, it almost sounds like a tripod from war of the worlds or something its so odd
i can't believe how much quieter it sounds. that's awesome.
I like all your videos because you given a 100'% on the destruction dramatics with out holding back for a minute well done we love your posts second to none 👍💚

Is not a 500 mag is a 357 or sometging else
That wasn’t a .500 Magnum. It was a .500 Vaginitis. Seriously, just because you load a .500 magnum bullet in a .500 Magnum case, doesn’t mean you’re shooting .500 Magnum. I can make 10mm feel like .22LR by only loading 5 grains of powder instead of 13. But when my 155gr bullet is only moving at 700fps instead of 1400fps, is it really still 10mm? I would say no.
To think one could probably make a 1000 grain load subsonic... AWESOME.
5:23 Scott your such a goober! Love it!😂
11:24 A subsonic 500 Magnum will make a hole in the orbeez; a full power 500 Magnum will blow the orbeez out of the bottle!

Yeah it was a weird comparison. Took me a minute to even catch it.
honestly, I would love a glass or ceramic version of the rex, or like a tiny version to have on my desk as a little trouble maker
That suppressed Magnum is obviously a good choice for concealed carry. Get a good holster and no one will be able to tell you have anything on you.
I'm sure that suppressor wont be much impediment to a quickdraw either. 😉
On a side note, you should have fired subsonics from the other revolver to make a true comparison. I'm no expert but the powder loads should be different for that variation in ammunition no?
A suppressed 500 magnum makes me forget about my troubles and brings me hope. I love this channel\
Who thinks it would be awesome if Scott collaborated with Chiapa and make a 500 magnum Rhino that shoots out of the bottom cylinder
As a rhino owner myself, I would love to see that come to life
Call it the "Under Dog"
I'm not sure how long I've been watching Kentucky ballistics but I remember the videos when I started watching Scott was just doing comparison videos of different ammo manufacturers and shooting at ballistic gel. Now he's his own sponsor. 👍
You know, I'm less concerned about the
"oh the cylinder gap makes revolvers difficult to suppress"
And more concerned about the
"You managed to find a big enough suppressor for that thing?!"
Go Watch Demo Ranch, 50 bmg suppressed, half an inch suppressors are a thing
You can get a suppressor for your 12 gauge if you want. 👍
The difference in recoil is amazing.
On camera the suppressed one sounds like it's somewhere between .22LR and 5.56.
Edit: The best part about point-blanking the Furby is that the muzzle blast makes them look like they're going "OH SHI-" just before the bullet hits 🤣

He put in so much effort to perfectly clean the table, then drive this truck at it, and then leaves it standing in the field. Holy cow, perfect comedic genius
I think what I am most impressed by is the fact that a folding table managed to survive an entire episode.
Toom scott a while to get a folding table sponsor and it is because ge probably burns through these units. Hes got like 8x the muscles ive got. That moment passed in 1895.
@@0angelcxkes came to the comments to see if anyone else knew about the nagant I’m kinda disappointed this revolver doesn’t copy the nagant action
@@scottydoesntno Why? It makes for an awful trigger pull, would need special ammo to even function correctly (nagant ammo has a long bizzare looking case to cover the remaining gap) for what exactly? Also this gun has been around for decades in a bunch of huge cartridges, the "built" is referring to the finish/supressor/sight so it's not something they could have done. Sorry to be a buzzkill.
the Russians did it a while back

Looks fun. For some reason, I didn't think you even can suppress revolvers, but in retrospect, I'm not sure why I even thought that makes sense. Have you ever considered getting one of those decibel measuring thingies? Would be interesting to see how that kind of suppression works out in hard numbers.
Turkey! 3:36
Keep up the great work, Scott...Always a fan of your videos!
