I live in a drafty old farmhouse in Canada, and the wood stove keeps the kitchen nice and warm, but if the wind is blowing from the north or west as often happens in the winter, it gets really cold in the front of the house, where the living room and our bedroom are. So I wear fingerless gloves/mittens all winter in the house. They are great for knitting, reading, crafting, scrolling on my phone, or anything else I might feel like doing. Even house work (😏 unfortunately) except maybe the dishes. Lol.
Ahhh thank you Sam! What a festive sandwich we all make! I’m still laughing at that! Such beautiful ideas. The caddy looks like an excellent pattern… 🤔 lots to think about! Happy sewing!
Some really good ideas here. I love that caddy. A bit nicer than the single wine bottle holders I've seen. Definitely tucking that away, and you gave such nice ideas for ways to use it. I'm still new at sewing, but I want to make all the people all the things. Newbie enthusiasm. 🙂There are some scarves, and book sleeves, a tote, and a pair or two of pajama pants for my husband on my list. His pjs will be my first garment attempt. This series has been such fun to see all the different gift ideas, and so many of them feel really approachable for us less experienced sewists.
Such a fabulous array of gift ideas! You're going to be very busy 😜. I love that wonder woman fabric! Thanks so much for mentioning me. My vlog is uploading as I type. Will look forward to seeing all your finished gifts 🎁 xx
Thanks Sam, for some great ideas. You are going to be so busy so enjoy whilst you sew. You could be battling the high street. Looking forward to seeing you for vlogmas.❤❤julie Tasmania Australia.
I’m so happy to have found you 🤗 I love to sew occasionally - but I’m going to use your brilliant ideas for gifts this Christmas - much better than shopping!
Watching while sewing fabric vlog Sam - the floral canvas makes gorgeous bags we used it in my sewing school ~ definitely Cath Kidson vibes Thanks so much for taking part x
Fab ideas, love them all. love your mum sense of humour(as my girls say!) yeah my boys were terrified of birds so they can now sleep with them in their pyjamas! 😂
What a great list of gifts. I did make some face wipes, but the pouch really pulls it together making a lovely complete gift. Thank you for all of the great ideas.
Great video Sam. I am so glad you love the craft caddy and you are making so many. I'll definitely be making a few for gifts myself. I love your stargazing gloves. I might try that myself, quicker than knitting them for a change xx Heather 😊
Thank you! I absolutely love the caddy pattern, it’s so easy to adapt for any gift. The gloves sew up in minutes, definitely a quick gift. Thanks for watching, have a lovely Sunday xx 🤩
Wow great ideas for gifts! Found you too late for Xmas just gone, but this Xmas is sorted. Wow, they was weird to type! I have decided that this year I will get into sewing again. The last few yrs has been knitting and crochet, but need to start sewing again. Machine is ready, and I’m so pleased to have found you! Lots of videos to catch up on with a cup of tea, and a piece of Xmas cake😅 New subscriber here. Thanks and greetings from Essex, England.
Fabulous vlog Sam. Your ideas are really good. I’d like to make some of the Liberty face wipes and pouch. I always look forward to your vlogs. I forget to like sometimes. Happy sewing and crafting. We in Australia are starting to have warm weather ☀️⛅️🕶️
Wow! You are so ambitious. I know you will get them all done. If I send you my list, will you make mine too😂? I look forward to your tutorials. I LOVE the top you are wearing--so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Great ideas, thank you! I like to make wrist warmers using the free waves and wild thumbs up cuff (on the Facebook group) with the standard cuff added at the bottom.
I’m sorry I haven’t watched your videos before. I laughed out loud all by myself when you said the boys were afraid of seagulls, that’s hilarious. Brilliant suggestions, thank you. I sew a lot (almost all my own clothes) but not quite as prolific as you! My main stumbling block is the cutting out. I really don’t enjoy it at all. Loved your card template idea and batch cutting will speed me up, great idea, again thank you. Any other suggestions to make cutting out more enjoyable please? I’d definitely make more if they were cut out. I’m looking forward to watching your previous videos. With best wishes from the Gower coast in South Wales, Lin
I’ve only just stumbled across your channel Sam - and what a great vlog! Such great ideas. I want to make most of them….seriously. I’ll definitely be making several of them. Loved the gift caddy and I look forward to the tutorial on the face wipes and pocket to carry them in. It’s always good to bring up gift ideas even if they’ve been around for a while. I’m always starting to panic about now. 😄😄 Thank you.
Just found this channel, subscribed, loved the ideas, wonder if I can access the patterns in Australia. Haven’t seen Tilly’s patterns here but I’ll keep looking. Cheers
A lot of wonderful, and practical, gift ideas Sam. Thanks so much for sharing! For the TATB pj bottoms, is the fabric you've chosen a type of cotton? Thank you!
These ideas are great Sam - thank you so much for sharing! Could just tell me - the little purse you made for the face wipes - is that the same one as your ‘shorts’ tutorial that you did a while ago- the 2 pocket purse? Thanks again- I am inspired!
Hi, I’m brand new to your channel as I have been off the sewing scene for a year. You and a couple of my ‘old faithfuls’ have really inspired me to get sewing again. I struggle with organising myself, I’m currently seeking an ADD diagnosis so I was wondering if you had any videos on how you plan your sewing etc? Things that might seem obvious to you but maybe are totally alien to me. I love how you make yourself cardboard patterns for your frequent makes, how do you organise those? Things like that. Any simple organising strategies are definitely worth tagging with #adhd #ADD because it’s a big thing! Also you mentioned Space Camps, is that something you did online? I have two (.5) grandchildren with very scientific heritage that are fascinated in the moon and stars. Although they are only very small, as I found with my children, putting a background of something they find fascinating on whilst I was busy cleaning up after them taught them so much. My son now has a PhD in Physics. As a child he wanted to be an astronaut ( although he got confused and said ashtray on a few occasions 🤣😂🤣😂🤣). If your camp was online I would love to pass this on for them to go and check out…. Or if not do you recommend any pre school/early years space programmes? Sorry for waffling, that’ll be the ADD, I could keep on down many rabbit holes 🤣. Subscribed and rang the bell 🔔!
Welcome aboard! I too have a butterfly brain and I will definitely plan to make some vlogs on my sewing organisation (or lack of) SpaceCamp Uk is a programme run in schools, I’ll happily find out for you if they are in your area. X

I pop 2 D rings on one side. Then the strap goes through both and round then through just one so it slides to alter. I might try and show it on a video x

Fantastic ideas Sam, do I have to join the club to get the pattern for the gift caddy ?

Thanks Same, that's what I was going to ask too
I couldnt find the gift caddy directions or pattern. it would be perfect for gifts I need to make
Hi there Sue, you need to sign up to the knit it stitch it hub for the caddy pattern. I’ll check the link is in the description box x
Apron is a good idea! I will have to look up the adjustable d ring😊
I pop 2 D rings on one side. Then the strap goes through both and round then through just one so it slides to alter. I might try and show it on a video x
Do you think you could use a sweater knit fabric with the ribbing or sweatshirt fabric. Would it work
For the gloves?
How much fabric/canvas do you need for apron?
Hi, firstly I want to be your friend what lovely gifts ❤. I can’t find the gift caddy from the link can you point me in the right direction, thank you x
aww Thank you ❤️⭐️
