P0411 code on my wife's Terrain. Found your video. Guess what, after after a crank sensor replacement/Tmeing chain check, the guy didn't hook the hose back up. You saved me some headache and aggravation. Not to mention money. New subscriber😁

Haha seems to be a common issue after front end work done at a shop. Mist shops work on flat rate and rush through jobs. Sadly. Im not knocking all flat rate work but it tends to reset shortcut and repairs. But many hourly mechanics still get lazy. It’s in every field of work though so don’t get a bad impression of auto technicians. I do my best and try to imagine what it’s like to be the customer relying on a tech for their livelihood. Thanks for watching.

Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate your support! It’s hard work filming and being mobile but it’s definitely worth it! It helps me catch my mistakes and makes me dig deeper into problems. It’s made me a better technician. Plus it’s just plain fun. Lol

Definitely like seeing the X431 in action. Seems to be valuable for getting on the right track to see what is actually happening. I don't think the CReader V+ can activate systems like that. I guess they call it bidirectional data or something, definitely on the higher end models and not the cheap ones.
It's too bad people can't button up their work when they're done. Loose wiring and clips and detached parts like what was seen here starting at about 2:52 are what caused half the problems on my van after the transmission rebuild (yeah, it's still sitting over there, he tried to give it back and I didn't even make it out of his parking lot this time before it dumped all the fluid so I'm not sure if that counts as going back a 7th time because it never really left). Whoever put in that starter definitely pulled things out of the way, swapped the part, and didn't put hardly anything back.

Absolutely! It would have saved my diagnostic
      Fee and the owners time.
I love my Launch X431 padV! I bought it through Kingbolen on Amazon and I have had zero issues. Bi directional scan tools are a huge time saver! You can get them around $1000 but if you work on your own vehicles and family’s vehicles it’s worth it. Plus they are just plain fun!! Haha

I was wondering why you didn't do another video to follow up with clearing the codes. Is there another video I missed? I have a 2015 Terrain that I can't get the codes to clear.

Hey Raymond thanks for watching friend! The customer lives about 40 minutes away from me so I told him to drive it and if they came back to call me. I called him about a month later and check engine was still out. It’s been about four months now with no issues. But this video is more of someone not hooking up the system after a starter change. Instead of an actual equipment failure. Lol. What kind of situation and codes are you having? Maybe I can help.

I had a P0420 and all it was a bad catalytic converter do to a blown head gasket... so I had to do a head job first then the cat...on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500...4.7L and only then did that code go away

Oh yeah burnt oil or coolant will trash a Cat! As you well know. You did all the work? That’s quite the job!
