When I was a kid in Arkansas I used to get tired of hearing this song in Church. But when I got older and the Lord delivered me after he heard my cries this song hits home.
I am 63 years old from Toledo, Ohio and I use to hear this song as a child growing up in Church. I didn't know then how much I would need it now that I am older. My Spirit needs and feeds off of it . God Bless you for sharing it 🙏
I remember this song. It stay in my head as a child of 8 years old. Then one Sunday I heard that song in church along with my brothers and sister. Mom was sick that Sunday but sent us on to church. I walked down aisle hearing that song and onlookers 👏🏾 at me. I felt proud and know I was doing the right thing. When I got home I got in trouble my siblings told my mom what I had done. Her words till this day was “ Gull you don’t nothing about God” no wonder God has forsaken me. I thought I was going through the son to get t his father. Anyway I remember being baptized on the first Sunday. I was the first child baptized. 😎
This never gets old. We could hear the patting of feet walking down that dusty road and you could hear those melodious voices harmonizing through the trees. And when you got inside you could hear one of them ole Deacons say something like this,"it's getting late in the evening and the sun's going down or I cried holy till he changed my name!!! DROP THE MIKE!! IT'S ALL OVER!!!!!
takes me back to my childhood in an old Mississippi southern Baptist church with my mama and grandmamma rocking and singing and feeling the Holy Ghost move throughout the room. "I love the Lord he heard my cry" I feel the Spirit in this...God is good and when He moves He moves...just listening to these words touches the heart and does something to the soul. Praise His Holy Name!!
I'm 27 and this is the type of music I was brought up on. No shade at modern Gospel, but this type of singing touched the depth of my soul. I praise God that I was reared up in this experience to not only appreciate the message behind the groans, but to also remind me of how far we come as black people. It also brings to the forefront of my mind that we still have a long way to go, but as long as we are connected to the Source (Jesus Christ) we will reach our Promised Land. Amen!
I remember hearing this song when I was 5 yrs old in church. My mama and grandma and aunties would sing it. Miss the south (Lousiana,Sheveport) to be exact. Thank you mama for making me go to church,I'm so grateful that I have a relationship with God. I love you and miss you Annie Ruth Moore❤❤❤💋💋💋😥😥
churches has forgot these old gospel hymns that ushers in the presence of Jesus, deliverance, healing, & etc with tears in your eyes from the 1st verse... singing gratefulness on your lips and a moan that will bring out a war cry from the pit of your belly.... yessss I love the lord
I wake every morning singing this song in my head… it lives rent free.. Member Mr. Zion BC historically Black church in Houston, TX This song brings tears of joy for the Love of the Lord and His Grace and Mercy.
Yes Lord!!! Being from the ArkLaMiss (delta), i would hear elderly women singing this song while working in their garden. It always made me feel like The Lord was watching me.
Gives me chills..the young people need to fill these vibrations makes me sad inside most haven't experienced this. Remember laying cross Mama's lap while she taps her leg and had the fan going
Wow!!...I grew up in Mississippi and my father was a preacher....I remember this song very well...bring back soo many memories I can hear my father singing....what a time we had back in the day...
I wouldn't serve a God I couldn't feel sometimes! Thank You Lord! Reminds me of my Grandfather when he was Pastor of First Community Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH
I’m 24 years old and I use to get annoyed when they would sing these songs when I was younger but now I understand 🙏🏾 as long as I live Father God I trust you and I know you hear me 🙌🏾
I'm so blessed...the LORD is magnificent...I was separated from my husband with 3 children and struggled thru RN school. Didn't know how bills were going to get paid and gas to get back and forth to school. My husband and I worked things out and in Sept 2015 I graduated valedictorian. Then I struggled with passing the nclex. Yesterday I took that test for the third time and thru the grace of my almighty, I'm a licensed RN...Never gave up on my dream even thou the struggles were overwhelming. I prayed and prayed and I've been blessed!
I remember Pastor Carlton Pearson saying on one of his Azusa gatherings, that if we would groan a little more, maybe we won't be fighting and killing each others. He ain't never lied. So much untraditional songs in the church has gotten us away from our roots. I'm afraid, no one is going to remember this type of worship.
This song always brings tears to my eyes... I recall my grandfather, Luster Bennett singing the lead in his baritone voice when I was a kid. I miss that man.
2021 from Mansfield Louisiana they song these songs when I was a child and Bethlehem Baptist church thank you LORD for still having real good church like 50 years ago

I love this song, I will listen to it daily. Thank You for Posting it.
Thanks for posting. Well if this ain't a hoot...this song came to mind and would you look at this. Thank you Lord. This is definitely a gem for my soul, back to when I didn't know nothing about Jesus and His word. I had heard about Him but I'd never felt the power of His LOVE💘
