    Great video thanks! The elephant in the room for me is that when we talk about propagation of phonons we imagine that on the right-hand side (cold), something is different than on the left (hot). There is a thermal energy propagating. But we use a plane-wave model where the phonon is completely delocalized. Is there a simple analogy to bring the two notions (particle/waves) together? Would a wavelet decomposition help? Or some other description?

    why does the doped Silicon not share the same curve for low temperature like the natural? Your explanation with the long wavelength, that does not see the defects should hold there too?
