@@leftlegcemeteryaround 7 or so years ago I was at a real low and Joe took his time to reply to me in private via DM on socials and gave me some much needed and appreciated words and just ....empathy you know? He could box!.
I always thought that was kinda dirty. He already had a UFC fight. The Ultimate Fighter is supposed to be for UFC prospects, not for midling UFC roster guys. They've done that a couple times (letting on guys that have already had UFC fights), and I think almost everytime that dude wound up winning the season too. Because obviously they have the most experience. Matt Danzig is another one that comes to mind. He already had a UFC fight when he joined the show, and he wound up winning the show.
Joe Lauzon, by all hearsay accounts is an amazing human being (correct me if im wrong i dont keep my thumb on the pulse of fighters personal lives, i only care about what happens between the ropes/in the cage) but his eyes..... you stare at that man and if he stares back its like hes turning your soul black and glaring through the ash cloud that was once YOU
His housemates/teammates called him "Creepy Joe" because of his thousand-yard stare. With that said, he was a frontrunner for the most post-fight bonuses for years, so I always respected him for putting on entertaining fights; win, lose, or draw.
He just feels like the most beatable champ at middleweight in recent history (along with Strickland, really) to a lot of people, I think. To be fair, those of us who think that may be proven to be idiots over his title reign.
I feel so bad for Louis smolka. His career seemed off to a really promising start. It's really unfortunate though that that didn't pan out. I wonder what that guy is doing now
Crazy part is you say Keith adopted and unusual style against Alexander, but the clip of him fighting Evans on TUF shows him using that style way before he ever fought Alexander.
The story of Du Plessis is more complex than that. He was suposed to fight Mańkowski who was a champion, got injured and Soldic was a replacement in a title fight aswell. Soldic took Mańkowski's tiltle and soul in that fight and than the fight between Du Plessis and Soldic took place.
Roberto Soldic is a BAD MAN, I was telling anyone whod listen that DDP was a threat to him. Was literally laughed off of multiple forums, called horrible names, ect. Then the same thing happened when he fought Reaper.... mma fans can be a mean bunch.
