- The 9mm @sigsauerinc P320 XCompact has gotten great reviews. RUclips reviewers for the most part seem to love it. So why is it not for me?... We discuss it in this video. Do you like it and has it replaced any pistol in your carry rotation? Please let me know in the comments.
Thank you for stopping by and God Bless.

I consider it the best Sig pistol to carry.
As do I.
Better y’all than me. I like knowing my gun won’t go off unless I pull the trigger.
@@RiZETipZ That’s been proven to be b.s they had problems with early p320 models that you would have to take a hammer to the back of the slide and hit it at the right angle it has been fixed and the idiot cops that want a fat payout has been proven to be nothing but a negligent discharge due to poor designed after market holsters. If that was the case this gun will not be on the market and Sig will not be in business.
@@RiZETipZ 😂
Sig does make a “low profile” slide catch control lever that you can install if it the factory one bothers you. Sig sent me one to try after this video was filmed and it makes a world of difference. Thank you @sigsauer for sending it to the channel.
Hey! Can you give me the link from sig website for “low profile” slide catch control lever?
Unfortunately I cannot put links because RUclips instantly demonetizes the videos. If you can’t find it on the website, just call their customer service number and ask for it. That’s how I found it.
I got this as my first x-series. I was super pumped when I got it. Was considering selling it. Ended up getting a p320 x carry grip and slide. For me something about it just feels and shoots so much better than the xcompact. It’s actually fighting with my G45 for nightstand duty now. For carry it’s my 365s.
All good choices. This is so subjective. It is whatever works best for each one of us. Thank you very much for watching. I really appreciate it.
Love your videos. I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers.
Have you ever used the Wilson Combat grip modules? They really improve the P320 a lot in my opinion.
I’ve only been doing it for a tad over a year so it’s getting there. Regarding the Wilson combat grip module - yes I have. They are awesome. I actually have a video showing that grip module on a Sig M18. Thank you very much for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
I love my 320 x compact.i have the wilson combat frame. It gives me an awesome rest for my left hand(right handed shooter) to rest my thumb, with little pressure,it is like a gas pedal, push down, feel NO recoil.Love the wilson combat frame
I changed my slide release lever with one from the 1st Gen P320's. It sits closer to the frame, is bigger and smoother, and sweeps back rather than forward. I had to get it thru the used market, which was a bit of a pain. But, I am much happier with it, as I had smaller hands.
Good information. Sig Makes a low profile slide release lever for this pistol. I installed it and was much happier with it. Thank you very much for your comment and for taking the time to watch.
I’ve got the Wilson carry module coming, this will take it to the next level! Great pistol with vastly enhanced ergos from the first gen P320’s!
I have the Wilson Combat grip module on both my M 17 and M 18. What an improvement! It does take it to the next level. Thank you very much for watching.
Nice review. I have the same one, I use various grip models etc. Aftermarket grip modules are out there as well. Maybe you'll find one that'll fit your hand properly.
Thank you very much!
To each their own, while I respect your opinion, not all guns are for everyone. This model SIG is amazing and feels great in the hand. For what it comes with out of the box, its balanced and perfect in my hand. Look up other reviews, you will by far see more positive then negative reviews for this gun. Happy Shooting, be safe
I agree with you. And that’s why I bought it. I saw so many positive reviews - I figure that I would give it a try. It just wasn’t for me. Thank you for watching!
I have an older P250. I got a newer brown grip. I had to call Sig and get a new slide stop to fit the new frame. The new slide stop is like yours. The older slide stop has a larger more comfortable surface. If you can find one I think it may solve your problem. It will fit the fire control unit and is easy to install. You tube installation videos are available. I finally moved to the Wilson Combat grip for the P250 and it is great. I like the P250 compact for carry because it is DAO.
I really like the Wilson Combat grips. Thank you very much for your input and for taking the time to watch.
I liked the trigger and the X frame was better than the original 320. Controls did not bother me and I shot it quite well. At the end of the day, I couldn't replace my G19 as my EDC so it had to go.
I agree with you. Never liked the standard P320. Thank you for watching!
I am a 1911 guy, bought this last year and I love it, To not bump that slide stop, do what 1911 guys do, ride your thumb on top of the the stop, it also stops you from shooting low left.
Thank you. I appreciate your input.
Great job 👍🏾
Thank you very much for your kind comment and for watching!
The only thing the P320 line needs is an action job. When I got mine I almost sold it because of the mushy trigger. The stock action is good for speed shooting, but not for accuracy work. I sent it off to The Sig Armorer and had a competition action job done and now it literally has the best trigger action of any of my guns, even better then my Colt 1911 with $2k worth of work done to it! After the action job this pistol lept to the front of the pack instantly as it simply feels amazing to hold, shoots incredibly well, and now has a near perfect trigger action!
It’s amazing you got that trigger to be so good. Sounds awesome! Thank you for watching.
Thank you for this informative video! I'm also on the fence concerning the Sig P320 XCompact but coming from a different vantage point. I bought the Sig P320 Compact a few years ago however it never felt good in my hand so ended up a safe queen. This year I bought my second and third Sigs, the P365 and P365XL which I love. Both feel great in my hand so I thought why not buy a Sig P320 XCompact grip module to see if that upgrade will work for me. Of course that doesn't make it a true P320 XCompact as my slide and barrel are older and longer but the grip module is the interface to the hand and I must say the P320 XCompact grip module is much better. I still prefer my Glock 19 but the P320 XCompact is close.
Kudos to Sig for developing these ingenious modular handguns with replaceable grip modules. I've already replaced my P365XL grip module with a standard P365 module so I can share magazines between the two "365s" (and haven't lost much as the 12 round magazine in the P365 grip is nearly identical to the P365XL grip). I hope Sig looks at what makes the P365 feel so good and uses that to come out with a Gen3 P320 grip module! That would feel better than the Glock 19. Hmmm, maybe I should look at the Wilson Combat grip modules.
I think the Wilson Combat group modules feel fantastic. I have a couple videos that feature them. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch and comment.
Not sure if you are aware, but the Sig grip modules come in 3 sizes…..SML, MED, LRG…..if it’s not comfortable, as in fit perfectly and feel amazing, then you prob have the wrong size for your hand.
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot Good point, my Sig P320 Compact originally came with a Medium size grip and I never bought the Small size grip which did fit my medium to small hands better. (I handled one at a gun shop.) Instead I jumped to the P320 XCompact grip module in the Small size which fits me better than the original grip in the Small size.
Thank you, and yes I am aware of that. I have tried the factory grips and to me that Wilson Combat simply feel better. The shape of the grip is different and so is the texture. It’s all personal preference and I like the Wilson Combat much better. Thank you for watching.
Love my Sig Sauer P320 XCarry, it’s my winterEDC gun and the slide release is a total non issue. My summer EDC is Sig P365 both great shooting guns…
It is a very nice gun. Thank you very much for watching.
For me it is not an issue. I’m in love with my P320XC and it’s my primary CCW over the others.
I installed Sig’s low profile control and it’s a non issue for me now. Very nice pistol. Thank you very much for watching.
Interesting video on the Sig P 320 X Compact. I purchased my last year and it’s my most favorite. I traded a Glock 19 Gen 4 and some changes to get it. Has gone through some aftermarket upgrades. Also it’s my CCW EDC than the CZs, Glocks and others I own. To each his or her own, if you like it or not to keep it. I love my and going to keep it.
I’m very glad that it’s working so well for you. I know many people that share your feelings about it. Just wasn’t for me. Thank you for watching!
I own one I’ve had no issues with the slide catch at any point while shooting it. Soft shooter as well.
Xcompact is one of my favorite I built mine with full size grip and pmm comp I plan on getting fcu and pro cut 3.6 slide to put on the pmm build and put my original xcompact back together
Awesome. Legos for grown ups. That’s what is amazing about this platform. Thank you for watching!
Totally for me great winter carry or can be summer carry I use XL in summer
Sweet! Thank you for watching! I appreciate it.
I'm purchasing this pistol, heard nothing but good reviews, although I cc the glock 27 alot
I hope you enjoy it! Please let me know how you like it. Thank you very much for watching.
You definitely need to shoot it before a decision is made. Their polymer does seem more plasticy and easier to scratch. I like mine and haven’t had any issues with the slide stop, but my grip is different than yours.
Thank you for your comment. I did shoot it after the video. Still not for me. It is feature packed and I can see why people like it. It is overpriced in my opinion. Thank you for watching.
Ikr his hand looks ok to me.
He is a glock fan boy just doing a review to bash a sig
What the hell you’re talking about?
@@Joetrout I’ve watched enough of MDpolo’s videos to know that he’s definitely not a “Glock fanboy”. He never said the P320 was a lousy gun. He only said he didn’t personally care for it and explained why. You may have a different take on this video, but I never got the impression he was trying to convince anyone that the gun is bad - only that he personally didn’t care for it. To each his or her own.
Damn, they sell an "extended" slide release for the P320 (even more extended), but not a low profile one? Funny thing is that a friend of mine has a new P320 and although the slide release/stop sticks out as far as it does, almost nobody can actually use it. It's so hard to use, you'll more than likely injure yourself trying (even if you are successful).
After I got rid of it, I found out that Sig does sell a low profile control...
@@MDpolo Awesome. Looked, but couldn't find it. (Found it seconds later of course.)

Traded mine for a glock 17 gen 5 wasn't impressed with the sig x compact the x carry has been discontinued, this one is next in line in my opinion.
Mine is gone as well. Thank you very much for stopping by.
I love mine!
Do you have a red dot on it? I’m trying to find if anybody’s been able to mount an RMR on it. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo no sir jus irons for me
Gun grip feel is subjective and if you're used to the weird Glock grip angle a Sig that's designed to fit comfortably and naturally will not feel right. Glocks run and are accurate, the two most important staples of any sidearm but for me, they don't feel good in the hand and the low bore axis isn't something that ever made a difference in terms of recoil and accuracy based on my experience. That said you're right, it's subjective, it's like a brand of jeans or shoes, for some people Nike's and Levi's in their size just wrap around them and feel perfect whereas for others it's American Eagle and Puma's that fit them the way their body is shaped. To me the xCompact is the best and most accurate and comfortable gun I've ever fired and it's also good looking which let's face it, takes hundreds or thousands of dollars for a Glock to look anywhere near as good and aggressive. Again, all just subjective opinion and open to individual experience and interpretation. Great video though and I respect your view.
Well said. Stay tuned because I’m giving another polymer Sig a try. Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
The subtitle of this video is "not for me" and less than 30 seconds into the video he says he hasn't shot it yet.
Me--> moving on to new video
@J Lathrop That is correct. If something doesn’t feel comfortable in my hand from the get-go, I don’t need to waste time and ammunition going to the range to shoot it. It did not feel comfortable in my hand. I knew it was not something I was going to enjoy shooting an thus not keep it. Thank you for watching and goodbye.
P210 carry will also be released by the end of 2020.
Yes, my name is already on the list at my local gun shop for one of those. I can’t wait! Thank you very much for watching.
I've yet to see one...
To my knowledge they have not been released.
I agree with you. I’ve never shot one - never even held one. But, the gun just doesn’t speak to me.
@Jerry Davis maybe. But from all the reviews I've seen, there's not enough to the 320 to replace my P365XL, or my Staccato C for that matter.
I had the same issue. I just handled a P320 X Compact Spectre, and it changed my mind.
What about a changed your mind?
@@MDpolo the feel of the grip, the Sectre has stippling that takes it up a notch, and also the slide on the Spectre, the wider serrations. Spectre features are a big part of what got my attention, but it drew my attention to the X compact ergonomically which I have never paid attention to.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your feedback!
try the L frame. perhaps your hand is to big for the M x compact.
You may have a point there although my hands are true medium size. But I haven’t thought about going up a size on the grip module. Thank you for the suggestion and for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it.
A beautiful (for polymer) pistol that is very meh to shoot.
I believe the p320 trigger is one of the best striker fire triggers available.
You obviously don’t have a stock Glock. Why wouldn’t you have a smith dull that slide lock lever and rework it so it does not stick out as far? Sounds simple to me.
I was making a comment about what bothered me as it came from the factory. There are always ways to modify that, one being the one you mentioned of course and the other is that I found out after the video that Sig makes a low profile control which keeps it very close to the frame. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo ok. What’s funny though is one of the major Glock mods is to replace the stock slide lock lever with an extended one. And the Sig comes that way out the box. I can see some liking it and some not.
I'll buy her off you bud ?
Thank you but it’s already gone. Thanks for watching!
I stopped watching at 9:20 when you said "Its all how it feels for me." For me, that's half of it - how It shoots is the other half.
I can make myself shoot most pistols pretty well. But for a pistol to be “perfect“ for me it also has to feel good in my hand. That’s what my comment was meant to transmit. It’s all personal preference. I’ll give you an example. The full-size CZ 75 is a pistol that I can shoot well, but I don’t enjoy shooting it because it doesn’t feel good in my hand. Why? Because ergonomics are not for my hand. I have medium sized hands and with their typical “hook“ trigger shoe, it is a stretch for me to comfortably reach the trigger in double action. Can I shoot it? Yes. Can I shoot it well? Yes. Do I enjoy shooting it? No. So in a long winded answer, you are correct there’s two sides to the cookie butter in my comment, one side was implied. I’m sorry if I didn’t come across that way. Thank you for watching!
That is a deal breaker for me, it's one of the reasons I didn't buy it plus I don't trust a Sig P3 anything without a manual safety or at least a safety blade in the trigger..
I don’t like it, I haven’t yet shot it but......
Exactly! Title should read “i hate sigs let me see what model i can bash”
This firearm is a joy to shoot, I believe it to be the best all round do everything striker fire gun.
@@fightingsolveseverything7667 just another useless wannabe gun enthusiast trying to make a buck making videos on youtube.
This little gun is amazing! For a small 9mm it’s very accurate and shoots like a larger size gun! Add a Wilson Combat grip and it goes to another level
Do you have a red dot on yours? I’m trying to find if it’s possible to mount on RMR on it. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo yes mine came with the Sig Romeo 1 pro. But it will also take the Leupold Delta Point Pro.
I’m trying to find out if there’s a way to mount a red dot with an RMR footprint.
@@MDpolo not sure. I’d contact Sig or reach out to C&H Optics plates (I think). They may produce a plate for it that would fit an RMR footprint
I did contact Sig And they said that some of them you can do a direct RMR mound and some you cannot. On the newer production ones you can.
Best pistol hands down.. if you think other wise then it's obvious your a Glock fan Boi 😆... and I doubt that small spot you called slick will cause it to be slippery when shooting...I think it's obvious how you just like Blocks
Well, you are wrong. Actually I only own two Glocks. Anyway, thank you for stopping by.
Two words. Beretta APX
I completely agree with you. If you have a moment, please check out my video on the APX Compact. Love that pistol. Thanks for watching!
@Jerry Davis APX > CZ. The CZ p10 doesn't really offer much or have any features that Glocks, M&Ps, XD's, Caniks, etc already have. Nothing that really differentiates it or makes it stand out. There is a larger CZ fanbase that will prefer it because it's a "CZ", but it's nothing all thar special IMHO.
I fell asleep during this review.
I hope you enjoyed your nap. Thank you for stopping by.
This was absolutely painful to watch
Well, thank you for watching and enduring such pain. God Bless.
another "hasn't shot it yet" review ! give me a break...
I never said it was a review. It’s a first look video. I mentioned it during the video and I wrote it on the description.
Frankly I don't care if you are going to keep the Sig because you act like someone is forcing you to say anything good about it. I happen have owned all the guns you compare to the Sig and the Sig P320 is a superior gun in many ways. I won't get into why the Sig is better because you don't want to hear it. The negative points you bring up against the Sig are minor silly and pretty dumb IMO
Thank you very much for sharing your opinion and for watching.
Yeah sig really dropped the ball on the x compact take the rxp exaple of 1 but its the exact same gun minus losing ur rear irons and no stupid loaded chamber indicater that blows debris all over ur optic. Justin lazy engineering at its core and yeah them slide catches are ridiculas just horrible
X series: how to make expansive a cheap gun??
With all the wonderful guns you own why train with this one? It’s just another plastic Sig. I own 5 Legions and talk about close to the frame: P229 Legion. Get rid of this 320. Who needs a 320 anything when there are 220, 226, 229, new 210 etc
Part of my job in this channel is testing what is in the market and for whatever it’s worth, give you my thoughts on it. This pistol has been praised by a lot of reviewers and was highly recommended by a couple people whose judgment I trust. It just wasn’t for me. Thank you for watching! I appreciate your comments.
This is an awesome gun. You don’t know what your talking about! Sig builds guns for men! Glock fanboy!
My opinion and what works for me is wrong but your opinion and what works for you is the only way. Got it! Have a great life.
@@MDpolo Exactly! You blame the gun but I blame you. The guns fine but some operators are not!
@@ChrisB-zz8dh so, if a top ball player wears a size 10D shoe, anyone who doesn’t fit into a size 10D shoe is wrong? That’s the great thing about the firearm market these days - with so many choices, there’s bound to be a gun to fit virtually everyone. The whole idea of one-size-fits-all is a government concept that doesn’t work for everyone. What works for MDpolo is best for MDpolo and what works for Chris B is best for Chris B. That doesn’t make either choice “wrong”.
Well said!
The loaded chamber indicator is not a gas relieve port!! Does not get my red dot dirty! You need to find another hobby cause you don’t know anything about hand guns!
Obviously you are the expert. What I said was that gases escaped from there and got the optic very dirty. And that is a fact. If that is your opinion about my channel, then please watch somebody else’s channel. God bless and have a great day.
@@MDpolo it was on my recommendations. I lost 15:32 minutes of my life
