This is actually very simple. Adam was the first Homo Sapiens Sapiens - i.e. the first modern human with an intellect of the "Self". That is why in the Qur'an God says that He tought Adam the "names of all things" which is symbolic for Adam being the first among the hominides at that time who was given this intellect. The second one was his wife, Hawa. And then their children married other hominides, thus passing their advanced genes to them - and so began the modern human race. I have presented this thesis in an article of mine years ago.
‘O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women.’ [al Nisa’ 4:1]. Quran is pretty clear on who Adam and Eves children married if they married other hominoids then we would not be Homo sapiens and this verse would become invalid it says that human beings (aka us) are specifically the descendants of Adam and Eve
@@nooriarizvi3279 There are most certainly human beings with NEANDERTHAL blood in them. Especially Europeans. There had to be some mixing between the first hominids and early human beings.
I am not yet a Muslim, but have been praying and reading the Quarn because it makes more sense than any religion I’ve been a part of or studied. It's beautiful. Regarding the question about Evolution; does it not say in Quran that God needs only to speak it and it will BE? To me that indicates we were created from God's breath - no need to be evolved or perfected. We were created perfectly right from the beginning.
Everything happens by the will of God. Not even a blade of grass moves without it. That doesn’t mean that there is no process. The physical laws are created by God and they direct everything else. That is why it says in the holy Quran that the sun and the moon and earth are moving in their fixed orbits and gives an example of that physics.
Yes but that doesn't mean that our bodies were created just like that. I think that refers to the creation of the soul. Also it doesnt imply that God created the Universe and that was it. It is possible that God created the universe in an instant and then slowly let it evolve through 'natural'/divine processes
Dr Shabir has such a logical rationale for his beliefs that all questions are accepted and answered in such a way that it allows all peoples to perceive the notion La ilaha illallah

“What’s hidden in the womb” to me means only Allah knows who that person will be. We know the physical aspect of what is in the womb but not behavior, personality, and so on.
That's exactly what I thought.. I mean obviously people at that time also knew what's in the womb, everyone knew that there's a child in there which the mother will give the birth to later on. This is not a hidden knowledge. What's hidden is that what that child will become, what his decree will be, is he from the blessed or the wretched..
Reminds me of the story of Khidr AS from surah kahf. He killed the boy and Moses AS asked him why and he said the kid was going to going to burden the parents with disbelief and transgressions
You can also consider that probably Allah means that he already knows what the fetus is going to be even before it evolves into a shaped being so that we could realize with ultrasound wether it's make or female.
So happy that within my journey to Islam I find answers to all my questions. These videos are so important, because otherwise I may have stranded with unanswered questions and wouldn't have continued my journey 🙏🏼
You can also watch other debates of Jakir Naik and other scholars. You will find more answers to your questions and suspicion. And must-read books on many Islamic topics besides the Quran and hadiths.
Everything should have had a beginning, right? Ancient Egypt began in 3100 BC, the Cambrian explosion began 500 MYBP. How could something not have had a beginning? Don't you think there is something beyond time? Secondly, how did life originate from nothing? We don't know anything about this with certainty yet. Thirdly, who can ever create complex life in a lab. I bet nobody can. Fourthly, Darwin's theory can't explain everything completely yet, though it is definitely by and large true (a) Causes behind punctuated equilibrium (b) speciation (e) development of complex organs like the eye and the brain. (f) Interdependency of life (perfect harmony and balance) (g) development of sexual attraction, instincts like material instincts. There are some explanations provided, but these are at the trivial material level,; all explanations are not convincing yet. Also, I am prepared to reconcile this with other contradictory evidence: Why is there no life on Venus, or most other planets?

He is not "fearlessly" speaking up for Islam or Muslims, he is espousing a semi-Christian/atheistic concoction which is foreign to Islam. And to consider what he's saying an intellectual discourse for the "thinking Muslim", it's a clear indication your thinking is not based on Islamic evidences. In the video at 5:00, he mentions Suratul Baqarah verse 38 and says a plural is used, and that gives credibility to the assumption that there were more humans in this garden rather than Adam and Hawwa (Alayhimas-Salaam), but if you read two verses prior [2:36], Allaah says explicitly "But Shaytaan caused (the two of) them [Dual used is Humaa] to slip out of it and removed (the two of) them [Akhraja-Humaa, indicating dual] from that in which they had been. And We said: Go down [All of you] as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and a provision for a time." In this verse Allaah is saying Shaytaan caused only two people to be removed from the garden, had there been other humans, then the plural would have been used in the pronouns for the verbs Azalla and Akhraja, but there plural is only used for Ihbitoo, which means Shaytaan was once again included in the address to go down to earth. The unislamic belief that there were other humans not only sets up atheism to take root, but is also a stone's throw away from the original sin. Because if Adam and Hawwa (Alayhimas-Salaam) ate from the tree, why are the other humans being punished for their sin by being sent out of the garden? The answer is that there is no such a thing as there being more humans. And Shabir Ali is not an Imam for the thinking Muslim. Any Muslim with a modicum of knowledge could punch several holes in his theory. I barely gave it any thought and I could refute it easily.

After 3 years of hearing "trust the science" I'm definitely putting my trust in God. Scientific theories change with whichever way the wind is blowing, God is a constant.
What a beautiful insight. My 6 year old asked me this question a week ago i gave her the answer we knew and it made me more curious. I know Quran is so vast that we can not interprate it properly, but this has changed my understanding. Thank you
I believe this can be explained by saying that Adam was the first homo sapien who is a “human being as we know today” because he 1. knew the names of all things as the Quran mentions…hence, he knew ‘language’ and did not have to make drawings in caves etc to communicate) and 2. Had a fully developed conscience to differentiate right from wrong, to be able to resist acting upon instincts and “choosing” not to do things that come instinctively as all animals do. Naturally, this modern species would gradually takeover through natural selection as the dominant Homo sapiens who could speak languages and had a fully developed conscience which no animal or being EVER had before, and NEVER has had till even today.
@@Saby217Maybe Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created Adam based on "cave men" design but with "an upgrade" that will changes the rest of the generations, and that is "complex" verbal language, culture, and knowing the right and wrong Even though the evolution occurs gradually, but cave men start called "Homo Sapiens" or "Modern Human" when they show there are complexity of culture, verbal, language, and having know about the right and wrong. And that time is when Prophet Adam is created also signed down to be the Khalifah in the earth
"Remember, when your Lord said to the angels: "I have to place a successive authority (Khalifah) on the earth," they said: "Will You place one there who would create disorder and shed blood, while we intone Your litanies and sanctify Your name?" And Allah said: "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:30) .- From this verse, my query is: how did the angels came to know about shedding blood on earth? This very verse gives me a feel that, before Adam, there were other kind of people, e.g., homo erectus, roaming on the earth, creating disorder and shedding blood.
Dr.Shabir Ally in my opinion is one of the most intelligent and coolest Islamic scholar...It's time to grow up we need to be more open minded about everything...
Thanks Dr Shabir for presenting these ideas to a muslim audience. It's important that muslims get acquainted with this debate and participate else there's a risk the religion appears irrelevant.
@@blueblubber6607 for some it might appear irrelevant but for many others, even with the theory of evolution, religion will still hold sway. @@Citizen052 I can, to a certain extend, agree to your statement in general, but not to your specific example. Every species develops their own characteristics, no other bird flies like the albatros, sidewinder snakes move differently to other snakes and birds even have dialects when they sing.
Maybe because Adam was the first modern human ? … all the previous homosapiens didn’t count as they didn’t have the intellect to process scripture … I’m not sure how it’s such an issue though.
In surah 2:31, Allah says that He taught Adam “the names” and told Adam to tell what he was taught to the angels. This could be interpreted that Adam was the first human to have knowledge ie intelligence. This is in keeping with Dr Shabir’s approach to the theory of evolution for Muslims. Thank you Dr Shabir for an enlightening discussion.
Good recap of the old topical question. The Phenomenon of Man by P T de Chardin makes and interesting statement in his classic 1965 book at page 258: " We have seen and admitted that evolution is an ascent towards consciousness. That is no longer contested even by th most materialistic, or at all events by the most agnostic o humanitarians. Therefore it should culminate forwards in some sort of supreme consciousness." I think this where God created the man.
Totally agree. Humanity's distinctive feature is conciousness, language, meta cognition. Absolutely miracoulous being. That is for me the divine act of creation of man that is inserted into the evolutionary line. This harmonizes everything for me
Secondly, the verse: “His Rabb chose him” (Surah TaHa: 122) does not necessitate to be other people besides Adam and Hawwa (Eve) at that time because it can be understood as follows: “Between those two personalities (Adam and Hawwa’), Allah chose Adam, not Hawwa” and this is, in fact, sufficient to correct that mistake of Dr. Shabir.
The prophet, peace be upon him, was correct, but not in the way in which you interpret. We are all of Adam - and all of clay - this in no way conflicts with evolution. Confronted with this question, Dr. Ally, do not question the divinity of man, rather extend divinity to all pre-existing life.
what?😂 ofc it contradict the evolution theory. bc adam and eve story believe that they were kicked out of the heaven, while evolution theory said we evolve in the earth
In other words, these verses inform us “that Iblees was expelled from the great position that he used to hold among the highest of heights” as Ibn Katheer states this in his commentary of the 13th verse of Surah al-A’raf and the 34th verse of Surah al-Hijr. (See Tafseeru’l Qur’ani’l-Azeem, 3/123 and 4/12).
[Al-Baqarah - 30] And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." They said: "Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, - while we glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know." [Al-Baqarah - 31] And He taught Adam all the names (of everything), then He showed them to the angels and said, "Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful." [Al-Baqarah - 38] We said: "Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. [Āl ʼImrān - 59] Verily, the likeness of 'Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was. [An-Nisāʼ - 1] O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. All these verses and you say Quran isn't clear that Adam was the first man 😂 And all hadiths from the Sunna. Fear Allah !
I would like to add my 2 cents to this topic. Quran also says that the birth of Jesus is like the birth of Adam. This implies that Adam had a mother and not a father. Besides the description of the garden in the Qur'an for Adam is very different from the Jannath we are offered eternally even though the word jannath is used for both. Also we are called the sons of Adam which means that homo sapiens eventually overcame all other hominin species which is correct as per our current understanding of evolution as well.
I think that this method of understanding of Dr. Shabbir might make him misunderstand a verse about the birth of Isa the son of Maryam (peace be upon both) as well. In that story, Isa (peace be upon him) spoke to the people around him in the cradle and told them: “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.” (Surah Maryam: 30)
It should also be noted that the Darwinian understanding of evolution is no more regarded as a reliable theory by many modern evolutionary biologists. Other models of evolution that relate more to a web of life than a tree of life are considered to be far more reliable and sound by academics of today.
The tree of life is an oversimplification but by no means does the refined view of the web of life discredit Darwinian evolution as your comments seemingly suggests
It’s Ok to say you don’t know instead of twisting your brain like a pretzel to explain something you don’t know. Even the prophet was not embarrassed to say Allah knows best when he was asked about the nature of soul(rooh).

@@Edward-bm7vw not true, the most logical thing about human nature is the need to believe in something that gives some a purpose in life. im not religious btw cuz im a physicist , but I can appreciate the beauty of the mind at work aiming for good
Evolution process is extremely slow - addition of minute DNA changes over 100s of thousands of generations. Asking the question "Who was the first human?" is as absurd as asking "How old were you when you were growing up?", or "Who was the first person to fully speak French?". A theory explains a process based on evidence at hand. Theories can be modified, updated, or rejected based on new evidence. Fossil & DNA evidence prove evolution to be a fact & the evolution theory explains how it works.
From the context of this verse it is very clear that plurality of the commanding verb: “Go down, [all of you]” applies to Adam, Hawwa’ (Eve) and Shaitan (Devil) as Ibn Katheer states this in his book “Tafseeru’l Qur’âni’l-Azîm” in the commentaries of a similar verse i.e. the verse: 24 from Surah al-A’râf. (See Tafseeru’l Qur’ani’l-Azeem, 3/123).
do you really believe there men before adam as? do you really believe there are primordial man? or it's just a theory like evolution? plural more than two? or it is more than one? are you trying to fit al quran to modern theory?

My salute to Sir Shabir by acknowledging the Quranic verses and it’s true meanings. If we take ayat ulkursi it is clear all source of knowledge is from Allah and he grant to any one he will according to their efforts. The concept that Adam and Eve were the first humans is derived from corrupted version of Torah which unfortunately some Muslims scholars imposed on Quran. As a matter of fact there is no word in Quran as eve or hawa. The word Quran use is zaouj whic literally mean “counterpart” and not wife or hawa. Quran uses words like bashar, insan, Adam and many more and each of them is selected by Allah with great wisdom. I will not go in to the details of those as it is long topic but word Adam is a human who Allah gives scripture. In fact there are three or 4 places Adam is mention and each is different person. Quran has never mentioned evolution of man, word Adam is used as a man with Devine scripture he send to mankind this mean there were human before Adam according to Quran. As a matter of fact there is a Hadith mentioned there were men before Adam. Now I don’t know why Muslim scholars hate the word evolution. evolution is a scientific knowledge which is also created by Allah almighty and he give that knowledge to any one who is working hard. Know Muslims don’t accept this as knowledge and Allah don’t give any evolutionary knowledge to Muslims. The reason why Muslim ummah is on regression because they think all these modern sciences are non Islamic and Muslims should not gain this knowledge. That is why when modern Muslim scholars bring some thing new from Quran the traditional scholars start to complain as they think their knowledge is perfect and they don’t accept evolutions. As a fact Quran is for all times and it’s interpretation require people whith high intellect and modern knowledge. No wonder that Mr Shabir is criticised by many because those people who don’t accept modern knowledge. As example give above of foetus in the uterus of a women growing can be seen even determination of congenital anomalies and even genetic analysis is evidence from Allah that old pious predecessors made wrong translation of that Ayah. Know we have modern knowledge and we need to re visit interpretation and translation of Quran and not to stick to this idea that we will follow our forefathers and we don’t accept modern scholars and knowledge. Does that ring a bell. The final massinger SWAS brought Quran and people rejected saying we only believe our forefathers knowledge in other words pious predecessors…….., in this there are signs for those who toil the Ayah of glorious Quran. May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to take home alone as source of evidence base guidance and no intermediaries.
@Knowledge of wisdom Quran comes with its built in methodology. Unfortunately almost all the Quranic interpretations have been from humans own rules. We Muslims love fatwas which mean if any one is not happy with rules of Allah will go to a sheikh, immam, Alam and so on until he or she will get satisfied answer according to their wishes. Hence ending up accepting human rulings above Allah. Allah has given us freedom of choice and if any one wants to understand then try to take Allah/ God alone as their source of guidance. Unfortunately today in Muslim world I see many following one or the other internet superstars. If any one challenge my comments then take this simple exercise. Take the interpretation of surah yousuf and compare this with the story from book of jenesis both are absolutely same. Now you look at the Ayah 102 which says to Muhammad zalika min amba il ghaib. Which mean the story which is in Quran was not know before Quran. Now how can a person accept that it is same as from bible. If you accept that the current interpretation which is from book of tafseer is correct then you have to deny Ayah 102. If you reject even one Ayah of Quran then according to Quranic definition you will become among qaferoon. Any one who reject any part of Quran Allah call that person as qaferoon please make not it does not mean a qafer is an evil person but just one who don’t believe in Quran. People criticise Quran rather they should be criticising those who offered this erroneous interpretation. I submit to Allah alone and the truth which he has revealed to me about Quran is amazing. I have only understand about 30% of Quran and it is no where close to the current translation available. I know there will be many Muslims who will think I am not a Muslim and talking rubbish well I don’t care. I will have to answer Allah alone and if I am wrong about Quranic interpretation only he will know what to do with me on the day when I stand next to him.
@@mohammadjavid3066 the wise interpretation given by Dr Ali and supported by you are very similar to the interpretation given by ahmadiyya muslims that I fully agree with.
Similarly, even if we understand that verse as follows: “God chose him (as His prophet)”, this again does not necessitate to be other human beings next to Adam and his wife Hawwa’ (peace be upon both of them) at that time.
Dr. Shabir claims that since there are such verses: “[Allah] said (to Iblees): Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled.” (Surah al-Hijr: 34; Surah Sad: 77) Iblees (Shaitan, Devil) was exiled from the Garden and thus the plural commanding verb: “Go down, [all of you]” in the 36th verse of Surah Baqara shall not include Iblees and thus there must have been other people with Adam and Hawwa’ (peace be upon them) at that time.
A very intellectual answer to this topic. Dr Ally, thankyou for not being a typical uneducated mullah!! Your analysis is very acceptable. We as Muslims must be careful in not believing the Bible stories or even Genesis. This is where we fall into a trap! The Quran does not say that Adam was the first human. You will not find such a statement. In addition the name Hawwa ( Eve) is not in the Quran. The whole "Garden" narrative in the Quran is, in addition to being factual, is also figurative. Surah Al-,Imran 3: 5-7 informs us that Allah uses TWO TYPES OF LANGUAGE IN THE QURAN. One is factual language, the basis of the Quran. The other is Allegorical/ Symbolic. The story of Adam is the story of mankind. Adam was chosen as the first representative, Prophet by Allah. His creation from clay OR dust OR a putrified extract of clay is an allegorical series of statements. But in addition, we are all created from STAR DUST. In addition clay is now believed by Scientists to be the scaffolding upon which elements and minerals and biological components could form around. All life originated from water. Ibn Khaldun in his masterpiece The Muqqadamah talks about Evolution. 1000 years before Darwin, the theory of evolution was known as the Mohammedan Theory of Evolution!! Why? Because the early Muslim scholars had proposed the theory. We humans are part of creation. We are a Part of this evolutionary process. Everyything evolves, even the Universe is evolving and has evolved. Yes, we are a special creation but we have not come about by some form of magic. When Allah Says Kun fe akun, this is not some instantaneous process. When Allah said to the Universe " Be " it took billions of years. The Quran is very clear that Allah Himself does not break His own Laws. Are people aware that all us humans contain at least 2% Neanderthal DNA? Are you aware that if you compare the DNA of humans, Chimps and Gorillas, you would wrongly assume that the Chimps DNA would be more closely related to the Gorilla BUT this is not the case! We have more in common with Chimps. This does not mean we are descended from Chimps. but we do share a common ancester with them. The Quran Says: Travel the earth and see how Allah initiated creation. We have created every living thing from water. We have got every living thing out from water. Some walk on four legs, others two legs and some that crawl on their bellies. From such verses we have to conclude that " we are living" hence we too are part of this mechanism that Allah uses to create anything and everything. Evolution is the " Tool" that Allah has Created and uses to Create. Darwin was a believer in a God. His theory of evolution is still called a theory, not because it is fallible or wrong. Many theorems exist in Mathematics, they are concrete proofs of facets of the mathematical world. Darwins theory ( actually, an Arab theory, stolen by Charles Darwins father!) is a theory because nobody knew the mechanism of Evolution. Today, Scientists know the mechanism. I look forward to the day when the world re-kindles the Ialamic Spark and the Theory of Evolution gets renamed The ISLAMIC FACT OF EVOLUTION. Alhamdulillah. 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Brother in Indian culture this theory of evolution was mentioned in their scriptures either directly or symbolically thousands of years ago, so the most ancient scientists who originated this theory were Indians and then should we call it Hindu theory of evolution??? 😊
Dr.Shabir claims that the plurality of the commanding verb: “Go down from it, all of you” in the 38th verse of Surah Baqara proves that Adam and his wife Hawwa’ (Eve) (peace be upon both of them) were not the only human beings at that time.
In addition, I would like to refer to verse 33 of Surah 3. In it you can read that ADAM, Noah, the family of Abraham and the family of Imran were chosen among the people. If Adam were the only man, how could he be chosen among men?
LONG COMMENT BUT DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ I used to believe in evolution until I looked up the probability of evolution happening which would actually mathematically be longer than the age of the earth itself nowadays Darwinism has been updated to neo-darwinism where a ‘random mutations’ or miracle creates a change that accounts for a new protein or a new trait it has been calculated that the chance of this happening to be beneficial to the organism is 10^64 (or some number like that) and this has to happen at EVERY step of the development from the development of the first single celled organism to us humans so you can only imagine how many trillion trillion trillion times x times you will need to multiply the chance of this random mutation happening, that too with perfection at EVERY SINGLE STEP of the evolution and at the same time ALL these random miracles need to provide some type of benefit to the organism (most mutations are actually harmful and that’s why our genome accounts for this by having different codons code for the same amino acid) so just imagine even if there was this random mutation IT WOULD ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS HAVE TO CODE FOR A DIFFERENT CODON THAT PRESCRIBES FOR A DIFFERENT AMINO ACID WHICH WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO BE BENEFICIAL TO THE ORGANISM The theory of evolution is JUST a theory. Even if we look into the fossil records your have no idea how those skulls have been changed overtime or due to the genetic variability of the race. Even the slightest change in the same species structure can make it ‘seem’ as tho it was another species (this has been seen in bisons) Moreover if there was a gradual change we would still see a mix of these pseudo humans with the modern human race today if evolution was truly gradual we should see a lot of different kinds of humans today just how we see so many different species of monkeys (not referring to race) why do we only see Homo sapiens and no other mix or type of human species? Furthermore true evolution (change from one species to another) has never been observed…Darwin talked about the different types of beaks that the finches had the issue is that those finches remained finches…same goes with other animals… they always stay the same type of animal…you can say tho that evolution is very slow but if see bacteria which have massive amounts of mutations in every generation even they still don’t ‘change’ their specie or organism type a bacteria even after millions and millions mutations still remains a bacteria and never changes into a virus etc…bacteria stay bacteria viruses stay viruses dogs can only be breeded writhing dogs cats within cats…and this is the issue with this theory….there’s actually NO proof of evolution believing in those ‘random mutations’ or miracles is no less than believing in a religion itself it’s that far fetched and extrapolated Also if evolution is really random and in no specific direction why isn’t it possible that those species evolved from us? In fact I’m the Quran it says that there were two nations that were turned into monkeys and pigs hence which would explain the genetic similarities if we have to be fair we cannot use Homo sapiens as the endpoint because evolution has no ‘end’ per se it is supposed to be an intertwined web saying that humans are at the end of this chain is actually a fallacy and violates the basis of ‘randomness’ that this theory is based on Lastly if there were more humans than Adam and Eve then their children wouldn’t need to intermarry they could’ve just married the other ‘humans’ and potentially created a mix or even a whole new race I think I’m gonna stick to the original interpretation. If prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said we all descended from Adam so we must have without any exception Allah knows best
I agree with you. On this issue I disagree with Dr Alley. There were certainly other living beings and creations, angels, jinns, etc., but as far as intelligent human beings are concerned, there was an absolute and exact beginning and that started with Adam followed by Eve to be his companion. The time it would for such an advanced evolution to happen would be far longer than the Earth's hospitable (life supporting) time-scale. Also, if evolution is still ongoing within us then eventually we will turn into something else and then something else and carry on. But Allah clearly warns us that the world will end with humans (all becoming sinners and straying away from His faith). Finally, why would evolution take the harder path of upright walking (on two feet/legs) which takes years for a newborn to master while a 4-legged mammal takes just a few minutes to stand on its feet and start walking? If evolution was about becoming better and biologically more "efficient" then walking on 4 legs is far more efficient than 2...lol Also, why walk when flying is so much faster and safer, away from forest man-eating animals like lions and tigers, and ground threats like flooding, lava, droughts, etc? I have the utmost respect for Darwin and the time he spent on research and analysis, and the concept of scientific study and verifying facts (Islam encourages that, in fact). But I think somewhere along when connecting the dots he (and the Darwinians) have made a terrible mistake and some day it will come out.
Great summation on evolution Nooria. There is no good evidence for Darwinian evolution. Please apply the same vigor to the standard Islamic narrative, and the holes that have been discovered. Are you believing and following something that is true?

Variants new strains different kind of birds from one but I’m skeptical about the whole complex organisms arising from LUCA and descendance of humans from apes …or birds changing into I dunno reptiles (or a completely different animal) and like from fish to whale to walking on land etc tbh I don’t know what happened and I realized that there’s no point in looking for an answer a lot of the theory of evolution is more of a story than anything else and relying on ‘random mutations’(or miracles) is no less of a religion and requires more faith than in religion itself…simple answer I don’t know… but I definitely do believe in the story of Adam and Eve as the first humans…also it’s nice to dive into these philosophical existential questions once in a while but at the end of the day you have to come back to the present and focus on that what ever was/how it was doesn’t matter because knowing it won’t change our today
In Tafseeru’l-Jalalayn, Hafiz Suyûtî and Mahallî point out another possible meaning of this plurality of that commanding verb as follows: “(Go down, [all of you]) to the earth, that is YOU TWO with whom you have included from your offspring”.

@@MuhammadShakurIV I totally agree. It could be true. Evolution is a thing of nature our body is designed to evolve according to our surroundings but still the thing is even scientists who are not ignorant and stubborn claims that Evolution from one species to another is not possible through natural selection what darvin's theory claim. It is impossible. As far as science has reached till now they claim Darvin's theory is not a fact it is still regarded as theory.. So evolution is true but not what darvin's theory claims... What could have had happened is Allah azwajal use to create new species every now and than from earth before us. Different types of birds, Dinasorous, mammals, with different variations, etc all different from another..They all use to left to earth. But then Allah decided to create we humans after homosepians more evolved more beautiful and so on. And also he decided to give us certain degree of honour and ranks more than jinns. Because Adam a.s was not going to live on earth like the rest of earthlings He was sent to Heaven and as you are muslim rest of the story you know... I will send you the link to the scientific claim. This man is all good in all these parts but the problem arises why the hell does he ssay(see his other videos) "in afterlife when we will find out there are other gods as well superior to Allah it will be obligatory for us to worshio him"? The thought of having the possibility of other gods itself refute and brings doubtful thought in our minds. This is not true Taqwa if there would have been other gods why would Allah tell lie? And if Allah is hiding from us anything on that matter why aren't those gods Interfering? And if there will be anyother god and they don't want to interfere why had Allah even gave us this ability to think? He could have simply not given us the ability to think that far to get caught? For example we don't have the ability to think or even imagine 4th or 5th dimentional space. We simply don't. All these thoughts shaitan puts in our mind to weaken our imaan like his own. The fact that we have the ability to think is only because Allah wants to test us about what we decide. Without seeing his MIGHT and POWER we need to accept him God. Because when he will show himself to us and his MIGHT is such that everybody will keep believing in himself along with not trusting him not following his commands. And in afterlife only, Believing in each and every verse of Quran is the true test believing in him without seeing him is the true test. You will only get all the answers afterlife. Because thats when your trial is over..
There are many things that we don't know and will never know. The origin of the entire universe and humans is beyond our capability of understanding and knowledge. The scientific theory of evolution is based on the hypothetical idea of evolution put forth by Charles Darwin. No scientist has ever said that the evolution theory is 100% scientific fact and true. Many scientific theories are based on assumptions. Even though we don't know about evolution and don't believe in it, it won't affect our day-to-day life and religious life.
Mohammad Mutwali Alshirawi may allah's mercy be upon him explained this very eloquently . Allah SWT did not say in the Quran there were no other creatures on earth. But the creature (Human/Man kind) was the first of it's type and Adam was the first of that creation .
I consider myself spiritual but do not adhere or participate in a religion. This said, I appreciate Dr.. Shabirs wisdom because it is obvious that it has been harvested through a lens of love and understanding. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care! Many secular people would listen to him because the source of his knowledge is pure.
These are at best grey areas. People can explain things in many different ways when things are not clear and befitting to concrete science. On the other hand, scientific truth are not always solid truth. Theories are always changing. Religions may also be dynamic to keep pace with the new ideas. We know nothing about anything. So, so is so.
There are two different things, evolution and theory of evolution. Evolution is a fact. Theory may change but the fact will remain that evolution has occurred. We are left with two options 1. Reconcile interpretation of Quran with science 2. Say that the Quran is wrong. So it is wise to go with this person.
Respected Dr Shabir Ally, Thank you so much for sharing your valuable knowledge and information on highly controversial topic which is also very much interesting to learn and to know the Islamic point of view and interpretation in regards to evolution which has been included in the curriculums of all biological sciences. I just thought of sharing few points here from your valuable discussion and what I have learnt. 1. Empirical studies and conclusions are not eternal which could be altered based on new findings and knowledge. 2. Science is methodical study of selected field based on observation, findings and evidence which is also not an ultimate conclusion. 3. All scientific knowledges and evidences are subjected to changes. So, will it be too premature to accept what Darwin has postulated and pronounced and to reconcile what he had theorized?
100% agreed we aa a whole are suffering from inferiority complex Instead of accepting Allah Knows Better or if evolution is totally against Quran we should deny it as a whole (though I don't know) the thing I know is when I was in a school our teachers ought to teach us that earth revolves and rotates around the sun which is constant but Quran was totally against it it says Earth is revolving in its orbit and sun is revolving in its orbit which was totally against the modern science of that time but as the time passes Science and scientists let to know that they were wrong Sun is revolving around something which we still don't know { fabia ala i rabbikuma tukadziban Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?” Surah Rehman
Another WRONG CONCLUSION that Dr. Shabir got from the teaching of a verse is this: He recited the 122nd verse of Surah TaHa and then translated it as follows: “Then God chose him and forgave him and guided him.” and then Dr. Shabir said about the teaching of this verse: “And this is interpreted to mean that God made him a prophet, which would mean that he was a prophet to the people at the time.”
Firstly, thank you for addressing the issue. So many Muslims are dealing with the issue with ignorance and is of course not benefiting anyone. I find what you are saying very interesting, but still doesn't completely reconcile evolution with the creation story. If we are going to say that Adam (AS) wasn't necessarily the first human begin than is possible that the 'garden' in the creation story is inferring to the garden of Earth and that Humans are not created separate from all other lifeforms on this planet

I'm an ecologist, and what I've decided for myself is that theory of evolution is what it is - a theory. It's very handy, but science knows other examples of a handy and believed to be true theories wich then were changed by some other new theories. Astronomy and phisics have a number of them.
@@walkingwith_dinosaurs theory means something different in a scientific context. Gravity is a theory. Einsteins theory of relativity is just that, a theory. A theory. In a scientific context. Is one step below a law. And above a hypothesis. Which basically means “educated guess”. You use scientific theories every day in your own life. Theory does not mean guess.
@@walkingwith_dinosaurs The entire scientific community accepts evolution. There is no controversy among scientists on this issue. Any biologist or geneticist will tell you evolution happens.
Being a prophet does not imply that there are other people around. Adam was the first man and he must be the man facing the God. And was told and toughed everything.
Hehe Dr. Shabir dodge this question like a pro. I've had these questions from 12 years ago, reading this reading that, even had to scar my dignity and get schooled by many atheist just to understand the connection between theory of evolution (not just darwinians) to the existence of modern man. I can summarize to this : We are limited, our brain capabilities is also limited to the scope of what we know and what we forced to think we know (because of necessity). Just like the Newtonian gravity is a pushing force and time is fixed is slammed significantly by Einstein theories about a century later. Even now many theories challenged "The Big Bang", because that is how science works, it is only a fact when you want to believe it as fact "at a time". Strongest evidence that challenged the theory of evolution is exist at Cambrian explosion era. To you who is curious, go get a read about it. (Hint: Body plans, Precambrian, and The cause of rapid evolution in short time.) Can we correlate creationism with evolution? Absolutely, Creation is the beginning of all, evolution is a biological process. But Can we correlate Adam and Evolution? the answer to that should be a big "NO", Adam is created as he is, with intelligent that exceeds the Angels and the Jinns. While the published articles about homo sapiens's intelligence is inferior to Adam that we know from the Quran. But was Adam the first human? Yes. Where do I get this conclusion? The Introduction of the creation of Adam is occurred on 2nd Surah, Verse 30 in the Quran. Which is kind of odd, now if you read Al Baqarah from Chapter 9 - 11, Allah talk about "Men" who are commanded not to create disorder on earth but they did it and even claimed themselves as a reformer on earth. After this story, Allah then narrates us the story of the creation of Adam and mentioned Adam as a successor/viceroy. By this verses alone, it makes some of us believe that Adam is not the first Human being because there might be an indication that there are a being before Adam who live on earth and create disorders. But, Adam evidently is our Father just like Dr. Shabir is mentioned it in the form of Hadith in the video. And by "Our" it means (We the modern Human). So either there are remnants of evolution or the proof of creationism, Adam is in fact our father and the first Human. And no, Adam did not evolve from other species. PS: This conclusion does not make any sense if you did not believe in The Quran. And I admit Dr. Shabir Ally is a pro
In my opinion Adam was created along with other human beings at the same time ( he could be first or not it doesn’t matter ) but not the only one. Read surah 35 ayat 11 - Allah created YOU ( all of you ) from clay and then sperm then made you groups and so on. Imagine that Allah creates Adam and others ( they live 50 years for example ) then Allah decided to make him Khalifa. Angels ask - they are shed blood ( because angels saw some of that people among Adams group for 50 year ) then Allah make Adam khalifa for THEM! ( group of people which was created with him ) About bowing to Adam - again Adam was created first ( then Allah gives order to bow to angels and iblees - then He continues to multiply mankind )
Regardless of religion I find very hard to believe theory of Evolution. We study in thermodynamics that all things move from order to random not the opposite. If evolution was random, we would see many incomplete and random developments that are in the process of developing, we would see disabled human beings more than advanced humans. But we see humans and other creatures. Not only that, all creatures are functioning wonderfully. How do bees that do not have a brain and have a very short lifespan store honey in the spring and after several generations have passed, they eat it in the winter! The truth, I see intelligent and order behind every single bit in the universe. The idea of life developed randomly by chance is very shallow idea
Nothing evolves randomly and no scientist says that. Natural selection weeds out the unhelpful traits, leaving behind the individuals that are most suited to their environment at every generation, just like how a sieve lets through fine grains due to their size and not by randomness.
@@abdel4455 It is like artificial intelligence, that cannot neglect there was programmer wrote the code in first place. Also a human has will, action and can make things. How do you reconcile surah Anisa 4:21 with these views? Oh mankind, be dutiful to your lord who created you from a single man and from he created his wife and from them both he created many men and women The plural in 2:38 is because Adam and Eve are allegorical for humankind
4:1 you mean? Where did you get "... from a single man..." from? The verse says "... nafsin waahidah..." It is only an interpretation that it means "man" and by extension people take it to mean Adam. But nowhere in the verse does it say it is a man or Adam. And "wa khalaqa minha zawjahaa" does not mean created from him a female. Zawj in high Arabic can be used for both male and female. In fact, a husband can refer to his wife as zawj, and a wife can refer to her husband also as zawj. The word zawja is modern arabic. So in essence, the verse never says Adam and a woman. Merely an interpretation. First we have to establish what nafsin means and then go on from there. That's for more research.
Allah does say in chapter 3 of the Quran that there are verses that are allegorical with an interpretation of no understanding, only Allah knows the interpretation
@@islamaboyy588 then why unnecessarily mention them. He could have kept it to himself. Why Confusing the poor mankind. That’s the most ridiculous verse I have heard . 😂😂
Referring to the comment towards the end where Dr Shabir theorises the possibility of there having been a pool of people at the very beginning (i.e. at the time or close to the time when Adam (AS) was created), and that Adam (AS) may have been a prophet to these first group of people, how can that be reconciled with the fact that we know to be true, which is that Adam (AS) is a common ancestor to all of humanity?
Adam is a fictional figure, invented by religion---- there is no single person who is an ancestor of the human species. It is one of the dumbest claim in the world. It is like asking "Who was the first person who spoke French"
Adam is different from the rest of creation, the representative of God, the image of God, a spiritual being. Evolutionary theory has no explanation for the intrinsic value of human life that is the foundation of civilization. 1. There is a spiritual world apart from physical reality, and this is what sets apart humans, the ability to commune with God. 2. The difference in spiritual reality may yet be reflected in the physical world. Even a single mutation in a single gene could make the difference between a fully functional human and one with no barely any higher brain functioning. God made the necessary tweaks to the physical organism to accommodate the human soul. It seems like almost nothing, but God's miraculous ways may appear subtle.
You are way off the path of the truth... evaluation was confirmed in Genesis 1:1-4. Read it carefully and confirm it through your own conception and birth...
I quote you ""the ability to commune with God."" This is done through prayer The problem with prayer is that it is ONE WAY COMMUNICATION as this ""GOD"" NEVER answers anyone. Whatever consequences follow prayer happen can be explained without the ""god"" factor For eg If you pray that you will pass the exam and you do pass ..............it is because you put the necessary effort in ............ god had NOTHING to do with it.

Adam was the first man. The number of times Adam and Jesus (pbut) are mentioned in the Quran are the same. This is to show Allah’s power of creation. Adam: no mother or dad. Jesus: no dad. Both created by the Almighty. Sophia has a great question about the angels having to bow down after Adam’s creation. The Quran did not say Adam’s kind. Furthermore science may find archaeological artifacts that resemble human beings but can’t prove if that was a different species not related to homosapiens. Yes, they may have a lot in common just like we do with monkeys today. As we know, bias in studies can be bigger than its findings. Do we know how bones decay and change physically after thousands of years? Or how nature (heat and cooling) has influenced them? Or maybe Allah as He promised, can guide or misguide whom He wills. Maybe the discoveries are from Allah to misguide and test those who are in doubt.

This is not a case for god tho, athough it can be, but this wasnt the purpose of the video. The purpose of the video is to explain a story in the quran through a modern lense
Maybe all that is part of God's plan. He gave us the gift of intelligence and free will to let us make our own choices. It's up to everyone of us to reflect on what science offers us versus what religion provides. Science offers no guidance, in fact if one were to follow only science, then that person would be in the absolute sense, directionless because according to science life is a consequence of random processes, chance! Such concepts such as justice, mercy, brotherhood of mankind, helping others are totally alien to science and can only be found in God's religion. So God's gives everyone the opportunity to reflect on this and choose his path.
Thank you. Great synopsis of a complicated topic. It would be great if you could host Dr Rana Dajani to expand more on this topic from a scientific perspective. Love the channel. 🙌🏽 God bless
In most of the cases, throughout the line of evolution, the predecessor species also survived. For instance, Reptiles have evolved from Fish, Okey. But we still have fishes in our rivers and oceans. So where are the hominids that have Human like conscience...
thats also a question i have why are all of the supposed ancestors extinct if the theory states that the dont have to be extinct in order for the new species to break through why do have we still have many simple orgsnisms like single celled organisms for example but all of the ancestors are extinct
Anaxamander and Empedacles, Greek pre-Socratic philosophers who lived about 2500 years ago, both had evolutionary theories, including, of course, about human origins. I remember that Empedicles had a weird theory of natural selection, even, maybe that parts of bodies evolved separately, arms, legs hoping, crawing around on their own, mating together . . .

There were many muslim "so called" scholars in the past, who tried to reform islamic theory, to make it fit with the contemporary theories, specially western ideas under pressure , And they gained many followers. And over the time there misguidance was clear to the Muslims and explained by later scholars of islam. For example, jamal uddin afghani who is one of the founder of islamic modernism, and mohammad abduh, Rashed Rida and so many. I have been watching dr Shabbir Aly for a long time. Specially his debate with priest and Christian theologians. And he did very well in comparative religion. But I am surprised and shocked to watch his recent videos, which are basically out of his expertise i.g. Comparative religion, and he is just doing the same thing what the above mentioned reformer did in the past. Trying to fit Islam with contemporary ideas. While evolution is a THEORY, not a proven thing, and nowadays under heavy criticism by hundreds of scientists, Dr shabir already started to fit Islamic theory as per this unscientific theory, which has no observable evidence so far. I wonder what would be the case of such scholars, when scientists thought sun goes around the earth, they would have taken that too and proved that yes Islam also confirms sun goes round the earth. May Allah protect us all from these kinds of misguidance. Ameen.
Wow. Those that follow his ideology, may Allah guide you. There is a diffence between discussion and doubt, he is in the realm of doubt. Adam was the first man. We did not evolve from monkeys. Indeed we have adapted as Adam (As) was a giant but were not monkeys.
@@Harris19941Right, and apes are different to monkeys. I'm a Muslim but it's true we did evolve from them, but Adam and Eve were miraculously the first modern humans. We can't just fully deny evolution though.
Let’s not forget one fact: No matter how many millions of years ago people are proven to have lived according to scientific data and fossils etc., this information would not conflict with the Qur'an and authentic hadiths stating that Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was the first human being.
Here is who created life.. and it's not evolution! إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ [٣:٥٩] 59) Verily, the likeness of 'Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was. Seems to me like NO commen ancestry was involved here accept dirt! 🤫🙄
However, concluding such a lesson from this verse is NOT POSSIBLE because of these reasons: First of all, scholars of tafseer translated the words “His Rabb chose him” (Surah TaHa: 122) in the meaning of “Allah chose him, i.e. made Adam closer to Him by means of enabling Adam to repent Him.” (See Al-Baydhâvî, Anwâru’t-Tanzîl, 4/41; Âlûsî, Rûhu’l-Meânî, 16/486)
I'm not a Muslim but I have to give credit to Shabir Ally that he makes at least an honest attempt to reconcile the Quran with modern science. Having said so, it is very clearly said in the Quran that Adam was (directly) created by God. This simple sentence is crystal clear and the speculations Mr. Ally made did not bridge the gap between the Quran and science. "Only Allah knows" is not an answer ! In a nutshell, evolution and Adam can't be reconciled without breaking the dogma of "the direct word of God". Obviously there is (much) more trouble ahead like the impossible story of Noah and the irrationality of the Jinns. I know Muslims hate this very thought, but I think it is much more reasonable to assume that the Quran is simply man made.
There is no verse to my knowledge that says God directly created "Adam" in the Quran. It says "Human" not "Adam". If you know any verse can you please cite one?
Spear02 45 God would not retell a story twice incorrectly. The Hebrew bible tells one story. The Quran tells the same story badly remembered by Muhammad.
It's interesting that despite empirical knowledge about homosexuality, some Muslim scholars still believe the story of Lut is a condemnation of homosexuality.
@16:30, you are saying it would have created great confusion if evolution had been mentioned in the Quran. I disagree. Creation of man has been discussed in good length in Quran. One more ayat stating "We created man and animal from the same source", or "we created man from animal", without giving any further details, would have linked humans to evolution and would not have created much confusion for people of that time. State of the matter is that the world 'evolution' does not exist in the Quran. There is not a single ayat which even gives a hint of it. We are just trying to force a meaning out of Quran that somehow link the evolution with Quranic creation story.
Interesting. Where can the article be found?
‘O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women.’ [al Nisa’ 4:1].
I recall there is some slight contention as to whether Hawa was created after or at the same time but yeah overall makes sense

Pray you are journeying well :)
Yes but that doesn't mean that our bodies were created just like that. I think that refers to the creation of the soul.
Also it doesnt imply that God created the Universe and that was it. It is possible that God created the universe in an instant and then slowly let it evolve through 'natural'/divine processes
Yes.. In God's position it's instant. In human perspective, it's a process.

Who are this unthinking Muslims you alluding to?
And We said: Go down [All of you] as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and a provision for a time."
In this verse Allaah is saying Shaytaan caused only two people to be removed from the garden, had there been other humans, then the plural would have been used in the pronouns for the verbs Azalla and Akhraja, but there plural is only used for Ihbitoo, which means Shaytaan was once again included in the address to go down to earth.

I believe this can be explained by saying that Adam was the first homo sapien who is a “human being as we know today” because he
1. knew the names of all things as the Quran mentions…hence, he knew ‘language’ and did not have to make drawings in caves etc to communicate) and
So are you saying that the cave men were a different line of human species, before Adam?

Good recap of the old topical question. The Phenomenon of Man by P T de Chardin makes and interesting statement in his classic 1965 book at page 258: " We have seen and admitted that evolution is an ascent
towards consciousness.
[Al-Baqarah - 30] And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." They said: "Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, - while we glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know."
[Al-Baqarah - 31] And He taught Adam all the names (of everything), then He showed them to the angels and said, "Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful."
[Al-Baqarah - 38] We said: "Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.

And all hadiths from the Sunna. Fear Allah !
Though i am a Sanatani but i still liked this man's positive vibe he always tells thing in a positive light 😊😊😊.

The Quran Says:
Travel the earth and see how Allah initiated creation.

Brother in Indian culture this theory of evolution was mentioned in their scriptures either directly or symbolically thousands of years ago, so the most ancient scientists who originated this theory were Indians and then should we call it Hindu theory of evolution??? 😊

In addition, I would like to refer to verse 33 of Surah 3. In it you can read that ADAM, Noah, the family of Abraham and the family of Imran were chosen among the people. If Adam were the only man, how could he be chosen among men?
He and they all were chosen amongst the human race

LONG COMMENT BUT DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ
I used to believe in evolution until I looked up the probability of evolution happening which would actually mathematically be longer than the age of the earth itself nowadays Darwinism has been updated to neo-darwinism where a ‘random mutations’ or miracle creates a change that accounts for a new protein or a new trait it has been calculated that the chance of this happening to be beneficial to the organism is 10^64 (or some number like that) and this has to happen at EVERY step of the development from the development of the first single celled organism to us humans so you can only imagine how many trillion trillion trillion times x times you will need to multiply the chance of this random mutation happening, that too with perfection at EVERY SINGLE STEP of the evolution and at the same time ALL these random miracles need to provide some type of benefit to the organism (most mutations are actually harmful and that’s why our genome accounts for this by having different codons code for the same amino acid) so just imagine even if there was this random mutation IT WOULD ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS HAVE TO CODE FOR A DIFFERENT CODON THAT PRESCRIBES FOR A DIFFERENT AMINO ACID WHICH WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO BE BENEFICIAL TO THE ORGANISM
The theory of evolution is JUST a theory. Even if we look into the fossil records your have no idea how those skulls have been changed overtime or due to the genetic variability of the race. Even the slightest change in the same species structure can make it ‘seem’ as tho it was another species (this has been seen in bisons)
Moreover if there was a gradual change we would still see a mix of these pseudo humans with the modern human race today if evolution was truly gradual we should see a lot of different kinds of humans today just how we see so many different species of monkeys (not referring to race) why do we only see Homo sapiens and no other mix or type of human species?
Furthermore true evolution (change from one species to another) has never been observed…Darwin talked about the different types of beaks that the finches had the issue is that those finches remained finches…same goes with other animals… they always stay the same type of animal…you can say tho that evolution is very slow but if see bacteria which have massive amounts of mutations in every generation even they still don’t ‘change’ their specie or organism type a bacteria even after millions and millions mutations still remains a bacteria and never changes into a virus etc…bacteria stay bacteria viruses stay viruses dogs can only be breeded writhing dogs cats within cats…and this is the issue with this theory….there’s actually NO proof of evolution believing in those ‘random mutations’ or miracles is no less than believing in a religion itself it’s that far fetched and extrapolated
Also if evolution is really random and in no specific direction why isn’t it possible that those species evolved from us? In fact I’m the Quran it says that there were two nations that were turned into monkeys and pigs hence which would explain the genetic similarities if we have to be fair we cannot use Homo sapiens as the endpoint because evolution has no ‘end’ per se it is supposed to be an intertwined web saying that humans are at the end of this chain is actually a fallacy and violates the basis of ‘randomness’ that this theory is based on
Lastly if there were more humans than Adam and Eve then their children wouldn’t need to intermarry they could’ve just married the other ‘humans’ and potentially created a mix or even a whole new race
I think I’m gonna stick to the original interpretation. If prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said we all descended from Adam so we must have without any exception
Allah knows best
If evolution was about becoming better and biologically more "efficient" then walking on 4 legs is far more efficient than 2...lol
Also, why walk when flying is so much faster and safer, away from forest man-eating animals like lions and tigers, and ground threats like flooding, lava, droughts, etc?
I have the utmost respect for Darwin and the time he spent on research and analysis, and the concept of scientific study and verifying facts (Islam encourages that, in fact). But I think somewhere along when connecting the dots he (and the Darwinians) have made a terrible mistake and some day it will come out.
Great summation on evolution Nooria. There is no good evidence for Darwinian evolution. Please apply the same vigor to the standard Islamic narrative, and the holes that have been discovered. Are you believing and following something that is true?
@@LaboKariuki I have ABSOLUTELY no doubt that Allah is one and there is no other god but and that no other is worthy of worship but him and that Muhammad pbuh was his last messenger I hope that answers your question
You put it so well "Believingin those 'random mutations' is no less then believing in a religion itself.
@THE HOPE🌠 i believe in evolution of species overtime eg.

I totally agree.

Nice response and in a very different paradigm, also if Satan was evicted before Adam AS ,how did he even came back to influence them to eat the fruit?
That is (in my personal view) one of several reasons why we must conclude that wherever and whatever Eden may be, it isn’t in Jannah.
Reconcile interpretation of Quran with science
2. Say that the Quran is wrong.
So it is wise to go with this person.
Respected Dr Shabir Ally,
Thank you so much for sharing your valuable knowledge and information on highly controversial topic which is also very much interesting to learn and to know the Islamic point of view and interpretation in regards to evolution which has been included in the curriculums of all biological sciences.
This is wonderful Dr Shabir. Rediscovering you after 20 years. I was only 20 when I was preaching exactly this to my family and friends.
he has misunderstood some aqaaid of islam. do not follow this scholar in fiqh issues otherwise you will be astrayed.
Some early commentators put forward that the garden was on earth
Quran already states that all life came from the sea

I'm an ecologist, and what I've decided for myself is that theory of evolution is what it is - a theory. It's very handy, but science knows other examples of a handy and believed to be true theories wich then were changed by some other new theories. Astronomy and phisics have a number of them.
@@GameboyAdvanceSP_786 I agree with you and that's exactly what I wanted to say. So what am confusing? Do u mean evolutionary theory is a fact?

Being a prophet does not imply that there are other people around. Adam was the first man and he must be the man facing the God. And was told and toughed everything.
Hehe Dr. Shabir dodge this question like a pro.
I've had these questions from 12 years ago, reading this reading that, even had to scar my dignity and get schooled by many atheist just to understand the connection between theory of evolution (not just darwinians) to the existence of modern man.
I can summarize to this :
We are limited, our brain capabilities is also limited to the scope of what we know and what we forced to think we know (because of necessity).
(Hint: Body plans, Precambrian, and The cause of rapid evolution in short time.)
Can we correlate creationism with evolution?
Shabir Ally is a pro
so..... U believe in the evolution theory or Adam and eve story?
In my opinion Adam was created along with other human beings at the same time ( he could be first or not it doesn’t matter ) but not the only one.
Read surah 35 ayat 11 - Allah created YOU ( all of you ) from clay and then sperm then made you groups and so on.
Imagine that Allah creates Adam and others ( they live 50 years for example ) then Allah decided to make him Khalifa.
Angels ask - they are shed blood ( because angels saw some of that people among Adams group for 50 year ) then Allah make Adam khalifa for THEM! ( group of people which was created with him )
About bowing to Adam - again Adam was created first ( then Allah gives order to bow to angels and iblees - then He continues to multiply mankind )
I've always simply assumed that Adam was the first man worthy of being spoken to by God. That he rejected the wickedness of other in his time.
Also a human has will, action and can make things. do we have any evidence of a mutation creating new genetic onformation?
if not then evolution has no shown mechanism to go from one animal to another and therefore is seriously flawed
furthermore believing that random copying errors made all these perfect creatures out of a single cell is just a religion
But if we say it goes back to apes then where did apes come from? Were they also evolved from anything? There is always one right answer to all these is ‘THERE WAS ONE FIRST WHO WASNT BORN BUT MADE THE WAY HE IS’
Apes evolved from primates that existed before them.
How do you reconcile surah Anisa 4:21 with these views?
Oh mankind, be dutiful to your lord who created you from a single man and from he created his wife and from them both he created many men and women
The plural in 2:38 is because Adam and Eve are allegorical for humankind
Yeah as I mentioned above, see the position of David Solomon Jalajel....
God intentionally made the verses ambigous so that we get confused and argue and then kill each other. I wonder why?🤔🤔🤔🤔

Ameen.
spot on
very sad to see how weak we muslims are
bowing down so quickly while its not even proven
so weak and insecure about the Quran thats all it is
if you read you can see adam was not the first Human He was the first prophet
Modernise muslim have no difference to jew and christian.
JazakAllahu khairan kaseeera such a gloden tip
Wow. Those that follow his ideology, may Allah guide you. There is a diffence between discussion and doubt, he is in the realm of doubt. Adam was the first man. We did not evolve from monkeys. Indeed we have adapted as Adam (As) was a giant but were not monkeys.
Nobody said we evolved from monkeys.
@@bestrafung2754thats just evolutionary semantics
the supposed common ancestor wasn't a human was he?
@@Harris19941 common ancestor between who? If humans and other apes, then yes, it obviously wasn't.
@@bestrafung2754 so what was it then?
an ape
so the claim is that we evolved from apes
lets skip the evolutionary semantics
@@Harris19941Right, and apes are different to monkeys. I'm a Muslim but it's true we did evolve from them, but Adam and Eve were miraculously the first modern humans. We can't just fully deny evolution though.
Interesting and informative. Thank you, Sir
Love the Showwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
my cat loves u too🐱♥️♥️♥️
Let’s not forget one fact: No matter how many millions of years ago people are proven to have lived according to scientific data and fossils etc., this information would not conflict with the Qur'an and authentic hadiths stating that Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was the first human being.
Here is who created life.. and it's not evolution!
59) Verily, the likeness of 'Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam.
Muhammad copied the Bible’s stories.
@@bngr_bngr please prove it,or go and hide in yr little box...
@@bngr_bngr if you followed your bible you would believe in 1 God
Spear02 45 God would not retell a story twice incorrectly. The Hebrew bible tells one story. The Quran tells the same story badly remembered by Muhammad.
Evolution always contradicts religion .
It's interesting that despite empirical knowledge about homosexuality, some Muslim scholars still believe the story of Lut is a condemnation of homosexuality.
I mean I agree but where's the correlation to this video😭😭
It clearly is and you are just spiritually blind.
Dr. Shabir is an imposter. And the people who react under this video are payed. They want to misguide muslims.
Excellent program
Dr Shabir is easily becoming my most favourite scholar!
