Thanks for this review. I just managed to nab a 4090 Suprim for MSRP from MSI, but it had to be with a mobo and cooler bundle--this cooler. Wanted to get an idea of what it is that I'm getting. Fortunately I'm making a complete super build next month, so I needed all these parts anyway!
I bought this one because there was no LED fans :) - So far one of the better AIO's I've tried. It is effective enough to prevent thermal throttling on the cpu, an intel 14900K which is known to make the sun seem cool. It was impossible when I ran aircooling with a Noctua NH-D15 and it constantly hit 95-100c on higher loads and about 50 while idle. In comparison, so far the highest temperature have been about 80-85c on high load over time and 30-38c idling. The fans are very quiet and did not add any noticeable noise to my NZXT H9 Flow chassis set up.
I just got one of these delivered 2 hours ago - damn it's nice, and it's quiet, although I haven't hooked the fans up yet - I'm powering it using a different system for testing My only peeve with this AIO is the shroud, which I have no intention on using anyways - but even still it's pretty nice too Was pretty nervous ordering this from amazon afraid they'd send me a returned or broken one - but relief it's humming along nicely - whoo hooo
Great work as usual. It may be just me or the camera angle or the shadows but the display on the CPU block does not look square on but slightly tilted. That would really bother me long-term.
Thanks for the feedback! Good spot - I just went and checked the cooler and there is a very slight tilt, but it's exacerbated by the camera as it's not massively noticable in person. There is a little bit of movement with the Asetek AM4 mounting holes, so this could vary from installation to installation and motherboard to motherboard. Luke
Looks nice but sorry I have no confidence in MSI AIOs after my MAG CoreLiquid 360R failed just after a year, A well-highlighted problem. It was out of warranty so it was money thrown away. I even tried the online return form MSI issued as they knew the problem but again no luck.
Well that one was made by a completely different OEM from the K360 and S360, which are made by Asetek. Apalcool/Apaltek made the 360R and they don't exactly have the reputation Asetek has; indeed MSI had to do a recall of the 240R and 360R from sediment buildup.
Stick to air cooling, I switched back to air last year due to GPU prices and rarity, yeah I was worried a leak will destroy my precious gpu. I couldnt sleep at night, now I sleep like a baby with air
That's why you only buy from companies who respect their customers. I had a Galahad 360 AIO from Lian Li for about a year then I noticed temps started to creep up very high so I was afraid the pump might be starting to fail. I contacted their support, explained my issue and included pictures. Got a response the next day, I would be sent a brand new pump plus radiator, fans excluded with shipping paid for. Granted it did take a while to arrive but aside from that 10/10 support
What sabishiihito said. MEG is safe, because Asetek is the OEM of that series. Apalcool/Apaltek has a history of AIOs keeling over early from contaminated coolant. Kraken M22 Msi MAG and MPG Coreliquid Enermax Liqtech Fractal Design Lumen They've been behind all of those.
The msi failed units were the cheaper units with the non asetek pump in the radiator itself. The meg s360 has the standatd type like nzxt and others. It's a very nice aio, I have the meg S360 myself, used lian li sl120 unifans with it.
I’m really tired of bloatware needed to run these new aios. I’d prefer the bios take care of the speeds. I don’t like how the forced programs like nzxt sending private information back to them when the program is in use. They throw in the lightning, monitoring, fan control, pump , and other settings all into one program
Harsher yes, but the ks shoud be on a custom loop. Not sure any run of the mill 360aio would keep it below 90s long term. As is the KS has the issue of not been able to transfer it's heat to the loop so trying it on a 360aio would make them all look bad.
Possibly, but you also have to remember we've had the 5950X a lot longer and have been able to build up a big selection of comparison points, as shown in this review. If we switched to using a 12900KS, we'd have had to start from scratch a few months ago
Just installed this aio on my 12900k build. Haven't quite got the pc done but very close! I used lian li sl120 unifans with it. It's a nice unit, I've heard good things about its performance with the 12900k cpu's. I used different fans so all my case fans matched, the included fans do seem like quite nice fans, I will most definitely keep them!

We put the MPG Coreliquid K360 on my son's computer with a 3900X and it work great. The K360 did come with RBG fans, so the S360 not having RGB fans seems a little odd.
I have a 5950X system with a Noctua air cooler. It's fine. In my experience, water cooling is required for Intel chips to avoid thermal throttling, less so for AMD. That said, my GPU isn't beefy. Very un-beefy in fact. Virtually vegan.

So basically the Corsair one is better in every way? (apart from the VRM fan which you don't really need on most HQ motherboards) Thanks for the review Kitguru
Performance is very close and will vary slightly from system to system (depending on case and CPU etc.). But the Corsair unit is a very strong contender. I guess the VRM fan might be useful to those with a motherboard and CPU that are really pushing a lot of power. Perhaps such as some Z690 or maybe Threadripper boards. Luke
I have the 150i elite capellix RGB and it’s a great liquid cooler plus with the LCD upgrade kit you’ll never really have to upgrade anytime soon to fit in plus I’m not sure but real world performance it’s great my 12700k while overclocked to 5.0Ghz all core keeps around 50 degrees up to 65
@@KitGuruTech agreed, I'm using the i9-10900K OC 5GHZ all core and the Corsair H115i(+ LCD kit) does an amazing job with temps under load (gaming) in the mid 60's, heavy AVX load high 70's.
Coolers need to be tested with the CPU that requires the most cooling. The 12900k would be the obvious choice. Your results help a 5950 user, but don't provide much to a 12900k user. Using the 12900k would have provided useful results for both users.
Just got this and there is this incredibly annoying high pitched sound coming from the pump, and I can't tell if mine is broken or if this is just the loudest damn pump ever made AIO

At this price you would think it would be full bling, but apparently you pay for blackout aesthetics now? Ive also seen reports about the liquid msi uses being shoddy long term. Hope this one doesn't have that problem and they fixed that.
IMO AIO's looks like they take the fun out of water cooling. Sure it is much easier and time saving to plug and play but setting down and planning out a custom dual or triple loop config and then implementing and seeing the results of your time and money is part of the excitement of building custom pc's for me. My current AMD build is a CPU/GPU dual loop cooled by two 480 rads with 8 noctua 120 fans in a push pull config all powered by a EKWB Dual D5 pump block. The system has a total of 11 120 fans and 3 80mm fans but I hardly ever hear the fans as I am able to keep the pump fan system to a low flow config and still have amazing temps across the board all day. Plus you get the peace of mind knowing exactly what coolant additives are in the loop and fluid lvls and flow rate is at all times with just a glance.
I don't recall seeing that option to be honest. I've just checked some of my screenshots from the review and cannot see it either. Unless it's hidden somewhere in the settings page, it doesn't look like F is an option. Luke
I have the ordinary 360R and I hate it because of the horrible mess of cables. If they design a premium product it should work and be easy to install AND look good.

Im glad they have non rgb fans. Maybe they should offer rgb version or buy separate fans. Still, rgb is getting out of hand. Like the stealth idea.
