    Incredible talent - Great Band - loved Jan Akkerman, a true technical virtuoso. For me 'Sylvia' an all time Classic. They ust do not make music like this any more. A great era without a doubt.

    Jan Akkerman played the most uninhibited guitar I have ever heard. Focus was a great group. They reminded me of the Dutch football team of those years, hugely talented -probably the greatest that Europe has ever produced but never quite realised their potential. Thanks for posting

    En general buena (no excepcional) performance. Hocus P la hicieron mucho, mucho mejor en 1973 en un programa de TV que no recuerdo; esta es muy parecida a la live at Rainbow, demasiado rápida para mi gusto. El baterista no es el original (van der Linden), y se nota.

      Lo malo de ver como se fue degradando esa banda que daba para más, Akkerman sigue siendo unos de los mejores virtuosos con la guitarra que siguen vivos, lastima que no sea tan reconocido al igual que Focus.

    • @josemiguelpallaresdiaz2054
      @josemiguelpallaresdiaz2054 8 лет назад

      +Alecs Tarner 1) El primero d Focus (In&Out...) es flojo. Posteriores MovingW y 3 son tecnica y musicalmente excep y F fue el primer grupo no anglosajon reconocido y admirado x ellos (JA especialmnt). Despues partida bat VanDerLinden hicieron alguno bueno (Hamburger Concerto) pero ya no era lo mismo. La musica elaborada canso. se hizo excesiva y la gente se volco a lo simple, divertido (Punk etc) 3) JA es un guit de formac academica, interprete d laud, uno d los realmente grandes. Que seas tecnicamente excepc no significa q siempre destaques, y trabajos solistas d JA personalmnt me aburrieron musicalmte.

    • @josemiguelpallaresdiaz2054
      @josemiguelpallaresdiaz2054 8 лет назад +2

      Si;, lo sabia. JA estudio; y fue becado en el Conservatorio de Amsterdam, inusual en un musico de "rock". Tanto JA, TVL y PVDL eran grandes musicos e instrumentistas, sin limitaciones tecnicas. Focus hizo una musica absolutamente original y creativa, mezcla de R&B, jazz, Bach, Brahms, canto tiroles,... Que yo sepa fue el primer grupo no anglosajon en tener suceso en el mercado rockero anglosajon que es, especialmente el britanico, muy cerrado.

    This is early Sylvia and Focus Pocus in 1970’s. Those tunes are played differently by Jan Akkerman these days. Young Akkerman sounds so vigorous and so passionate that he makes lots of mistones. But it’s nothing to be blamed. Now he plays the guitar quite sophisticated way.
