Akinci Drone 'Crashes For The First Time' In Libya: Know All About Turkey's Missile-Carrying UAV

Turkey’s Bayraktar Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle is one of the most popular combat drones and it reportedly crashed for the first time on January 29. Military observer Oded Berkowitz reported that the Akinci drone crashed in Libya and its wreckage was found near Ajaylata, halfway between Tripoli and border with Tunisia. Berkowitz further reported that the drone belonged to the Libyan Air Force.
According to the Eurasian Times, Akinci is a high-altitude, long-endurance drones that can be armed with weapons. The Turkish drone in what is being hailed as an historic milestone successfully test fired a supersonic missile in December 2024, opening up new dimensions in modern warfare. Another crash was also reported on January 29 after an American Airlines plane and a Black Hawk helicopter collided in Washington DC.
