I don't care what the results of the show were. This was my favorite performance from this episode. While many of the singers did these super powered vocal demonstrations (which Hyroin did demonstrate her great vocal ability here as well) this was more of a complete package in terms of overall performance. I especially enjoy covers that try to reinterpret the song in a new way and for me this version of this song was so well performed by Hyorin and arranged that it's for me the definitive version of the song.
HyoRin's english is amazingly clear - and damn - she can turn from sweet and sizzingly sexy - i really enjoyed this performance - like Jay Park - she isn't a perfectly technical singer - but she knows how to infuse the song with emotion even better than Jay does
John Eyon I think because of her husky voice, I heard Baek Ji Young once said about Hyorin and how hard husky-voice-singer have to keep his/her breathe. And she has to dance too. But I agree with you, she is not the best vocalist but she has this perfoming instinct that drives me and many ppl out there crazy :)
Clark .Justin to be honest - i'm not a fan of husky voices - so it's surprising to me how i reacted to SoJung - in HyoRin's case - i like when she exhibits her pretty voice - but mostly it's her expressiveness - mixed with a dose of her immense sex appeal
John Eyon Tehnically, she's as good as Ailee (if not arguably better) and is also better than Eunji and all of Big Mama minus Younghyun, who is better than everyone you mentioned. If you're talking about placing a sound wrongly, let's talk about Ailee forcing her larynx lower to achieve a "deeper/weightier" tone. SPICA are not that great of vocalists, Kim BoA is notorious for strained belts. Bohyung is the most adept technically in SPICA; however, she's below SNSD's Taeyeon. Ladies' Code's So Jung is also better than majority of SPICA. Hyorin's "breathlessness" is only a result of her natural cords...no factor in vocal abilities...usually a factor in her tired voice. Hyorin has a perfectly clear tone...albeit she can get "throaty"...that also doesn't factor in any vocal ability due to the fact Younghyun (who is better technically than both Hyorin and Ailee)...also tends to get "throaty". I must say tho, I love how everyone thinks they're suddenly a vocal critic when they can't tell the difference...closing, she isn't a "perfectly technical singer"...as no one is; however, she is on the best (if not best) idol singers.

Hyorin has the most unique sense of singing Missing You Now. Her raw husky voice just slays it all. Not to mention performing while singing. That thing is difficult. And also her soft tones are beautiful. Sometimes the notes are slightly missed, but all in all, SHE IS AWESOME. :)

My bias... I loved her performanceeeee. Ballads usually have a higher chance of getting the audience so I see why she didn't go any further but I love how she changed the song. She truly knows how to make songs into performances
