I searched for colored deviled eggs and came across you video. Really liked the way you omitted the vinegar and using only one drop of food dye. Great job!
A tip to get a perfectly centered yolk for hard boiled eggs, the night before you boil them flip them in their carton and the yolk will be in the center!!! Try it!!! :)
Awesome! I've been wanting to know how to colour them & yours have come out beautifully! Also, thanks for all the extra advice about NOT using extra colour/vinegar! Saved me ending up with 'egg on my face' & horrible tasting eggs! ;-) You're a gem! xx
Have you tried using natural dyes, rather than the synthetic gunk? Beets make a lovely pink/purple. Blueberries make ... duh... blue. Red cabbage leaves, onion skins, any greens make green. You wouldn't have to fight off nasty chemical flavors that way!
+Brianna Marie Potato Actually IF YOU DO IT RIGHT it will not taste like food the color came from. So +Mary Goodson it would be a good idea! Thanks for Sharing that good idea!
LOL!! Don't see why not! Boil up the macaroni in colored water...worth a shot, right? You and all your food experiments, surely you could figure out a way!
I use the vinegar with mine, you can't taste it. I think it really helps to color them faster, and they come out bright, rather than pastel. I also top 'em off with Jamaican Curry Powder instead of Paprika. So yummy 😊
***** Perhaps I did them wrong but the vinegar was very prominent when I first did them. You can also get vibrant colors without vinegar by using gel food coloring instead of the cheap liquid dyes. But as long as they turned out and tasted good for you, that's all that matters.
Thanks for this - going to try these this weekend for a baby shower. I was reading recipes online and was very concerned about the eggs tasting like vinegar - then your video popped up.
Well now you know! The first time I made them, they were absolutely HORRIBLE!! Took one bite and spit it out. My roommate tried one and asked what I did to them to get them to be so awful. Thankfully I knew better than to add the vinegar but using so much color really does ruin them. Makes for a pretty egg but I want them to taste good too!
ooo YEAH! YEAH! THANKS FOR THIS.. its easter morning **dancing** am currently boiling some egg.. i hve green food colour and am soooo going to do this now. :) thnkz
When I make beef stew in the crockpot or on the stove I throw in a few eggs to boil with it.. What happens is the inside of the egg turns whatever the soup base is... I wonder if an egg would turn blue and such if you can throw dye in boiling water as it cooks.
Turmeric for yellow, spinach for green, blackberries for purple and beets for pink/red. Chop/mash them up individually and boil them each for about 5 minutes in a water. Strain and cool! Won't leave a gross dye taste!
OMG just tryed it but my green and yellow didn't take I didn't want to add any more food coloring but other then that they look cute and I am excited to see What my family said later
Yes but they will make everything in your refrigerator taste like eggs if they aren't sealed tight. Even your milk and orange juice will taste like eggs so store them in an airtight container if at all possible.

Oh that is awesome, I totally want to do red, white, and blue for 4th of July!!
The pup was waiting by patiently hoping to get a taste! How cute! And what a simple and easy way to dye them :) thanks for sharing
This is so creative!!! I will be doing this for easter every year now.
LOVE! I saw this on PINTEREST, and wondered how they would taste dyed. Thanks for trying it out and suggesting a better way to dye them!
Very cute! I'm glad you let us know the true flavor with all of that dye... I was worried about that.

Yeah, I woulda been pissed if I had made up 6 dozen of these using the directions given online. I've learned to NEVER trust a pinterest recipe. Ever.
Hi, I made this today for Easter Dinner. They came out great and everyone loved them! Thank you for sharing and great video. Happy Easter!
Awesome! I've been wanting to know how to colour them & yours have come out beautifully! Also, thanks for all the extra advice about NOT using extra colour/vinegar! Saved me ending up with 'egg on my face' & horrible tasting eggs! ;-) You're a gem! xx

We'll see how well they go over when I take a couple dozen to Easter dinner. :-)

For sure! Color the shells and when you're done, color the whites for deviled eggs!
Yep, tried em again to see if I could still color them but without that disgusting flavor. And it worked!
wow this looks so pretty :) will try and let you know!
I’m going to make these this year!! Thank you. 🐰
Very cute! I think Bruno likes the green ones
How cute! Thank you for this demo.
You're right the food coloring does make it taste bad but it looks nice I suggest warmer water it makes the color stronger but ya not the best to eat
I tried this last year and people loved them! Thanks for sharing!
That is so pretty. I would be very impressed if I saw these at a party.
Shoot, those are so good looking, that I wish I liked deviled eggs. Maybe I'll make some for Gary this Easter. He'd appreciate the effort.

You can also use salt as mordant, instead of vinegar.
Thanks Melissa!

Hi thanks for the "how to" .. You have a great youtube voice! good job! =)
This is how we have always done our eggs! We do not let them sit for 45 minutes however and they turn out just fine after only a few minutes soaking.
Do you use vinegar though
they came out very well for me! thank you so much, Have a great Happy Easter 2016!
Going to give this a try
Thank you mine turned out amazing and yummy.
Awesome!
Ty for the great idea
thank you . this was perfect.
Yup totally doing this♥
Loved the video! 2 quick questions... Do they have to be chilled and can I use the paas color tabs instead?
I was thinking the same. I saw a video where a woman did.
so neat!
Thanks for the follow up
is a good idea
We always enjoy thank u so much
I've got to do this !!
So, very, pretty! Thank you!
Ooo I can't wait
Vinegar will not ruin the eggs and the purpose is to remove the nasty taste of the dye.
so cool
Nifty! Thanks.
Nice job I'm so gonna try them thx :)

Thanks for subbing!!
OMG just tryed it but my green and yellow didn't take I didn't want to add any more food coloring but other then that they look cute and I am excited to see What my family said later
He got one of each color... ;-)
Put a single bean on every deviled egg and sneak a piece-o-pork on one and whoever gets that one, gets a prize! ;-)
If I make this today, will they still look great tomorrow?
Yes but they will make everything in your refrigerator taste like eggs if they aren't sealed tight. Even your milk and orange juice will taste like eggs so store them in an airtight container if at all possible.
Cute !! :-)
He ended up getting a few of them, LOL!! ;-)
I love uuu thnks so much
