Joey with the valid response to "why weren't we taught this in school..?" my HS taught us about taxes, how to start and run a small business, balancing budgets etc and everyone treated it as a bird class.
To be fair no one actually cares about anything that is thaught in school, students only care for the grade so if you make that shit have a lot of weightage in the exams students will care.
@@amogus1415 well I mean that's the problem with the majority of education systems is they don't teach you how to learn, they teach you how to take tests. Exams and marks matter for such a small amount of life, but the ability to look at and understand your world is so much more important, whatever form that might take.

@@Rita-kx3yr It was decades ago, so I don't really remember all the details. I remember doing presentation as final. Broooo that sucks honestly like three of those stories are like literally sexual harassment, it's crazy how much of a double standard there is. I mean if connor doesn't want to make a big deal out of it by calling sexual harassment that's his decision I guess but man just imagine if the gender was swapped on those situations, like the way we'd be talking about it would be completely different

"your 10" means they have a 10 which I don't see how it makes sense contextually, and to emphasize it even more, splitting it into "you are" shows more meaning as to what you're trying convey. Also, there isn't any harm in informing but there isn't also any point as they did not reveal any confirmed information to their age.
Something I was taught in school that I never realised would be as useful as it is was source analysis in history. Like I learned how to read a source and determine it’s bias. Which is so needed today and it’s clear to me a lot of people didn’t do it.
everyone has a bias. And some bias you can never identify. And yes you should allways identify the sources and understand it's parameters. If you do a thesis in university is essential.
It's why I sometimes unironically ask my friends "what's your source", because I know how biased so many things can be, so I want to be able to double check when they say something like "Covid vaccines have killed more people than they saved" (they never actually said anything as dumb as that, but you get the idea).
Garnt talking about going to college and reinventing yourself made me want to die. I tried that. I tried to be more open and talk to more people and quickly became known as a super weirdo. I eventually stopped going to classes entirely and dropped out. It was devastating. I just wanted to try and be more social and became the boogie man that people dreaded seeing.
Hey Trash Taste Team. The captions are not synced up to the audio, about a minute behind the audio. I am a hearing person and I keep captions on to help follow along with content I watch. For someone who is deaf or hard of hearing I can see them having difficulty understanding graphics that are on screen if the captions are a minute behind the audio. Please take this critic into consideration. Thank you for having captions and making your podcast more accessible.
The fact that Sydney makes videos for Garnt on topics he's too chicken to talk about showed that she's the one who wears the trousers in the relationship.
I’m a first year university student and I do wanna reinvent myself...but the problem is it’s online and now my social skills are even worse than before😔😔 add to that my worsening mental health

Actual financial advice: You always hear about the winners but never the losers. Just because someone made one good investment doesn’t mean they’re a good investor.
If you have the patience you should invest a little bit of money in many companies instead of all your money into one company. If you invested all your money in one company and it went up then you made a lot of money. But its more likely that you guessed wrong. Spreading your money between companies reduces risk but takes a longer time to make money on investments. So the question is... do you have patience?
Right, in my history classes all we learn about is who won and how they won, when really, it’s the mistakes that the losing side made that are ultimately the most fatal
Actual financial advice: Invest in index fund. Everyone win or everyone lose, and if everyone start losing you already have global financial crisis anyway. Never hedge or play with high speed stock trading, that's just gambling with an extra step.

As someone who had a single mom and a single dad for a while, seeing them flirt or “be on the prowl” (lol) wasn’t too weird and it just made me happy when they both eventually found new partners
Word of advice to anyone who is looking into financial advisors. Make sure they are a "fiduciary". Regular financial advisors get commission depending on what you buy so they may try to sell you certain investments not because they're good for YOU but because they're good for THEM. Fiduciaries are legally required work with your best interest in mind and generally don't get commission.

Something I was taught in school that I never realised would be as useful as it is was source analysis in history. Like I learned how to read a source and determine it’s bias. Which is so needed today and it’s clear to me a lot of people didn’t do it.
damn i wish i knew how to do that
everyone has a bias.

The captions are not synced up to the audio, about a minute behind the audio. I am a hearing person and I keep captions on to help follow along with content I watch. Learn stocks for almost 7 year now started in high school

Before turning profit
The grind is real
If you have the patience you should invest a little bit of money in many companies instead of all your money into one company. If you invested all your money in one company and it went up then you made a lot of money. But its more likely that you guessed wrong. Spreading your money between companies reduces risk but takes a longer time to make money on investments. So the question is... do you have patience?
survivorship bias
Right, in my history classes all we learn about is who won and how they won, when really, it’s the mistakes that the losing side made that are ultimately the most fatal
Actual financial advice: Invest in index fund. Everyone win or everyone lose, and if everyone start losing you already have global financial crisis anyway. Never hedge or play with high speed stock trading, that's just gambling with an extra step.
