@Screen Surgeons It does say that these models supports 1 M.2 2242 SSD up to 128GB. This true or, that only for the higher end 8GB DDR4 100e 2nd gen? Also, in order TO access the mainboard; do I have to remove the bezel from around the screen or, can I just unscrew the bottom screws and pop up the keyboard?
Typically there really isn't a capacity limitation so long that it can be swapped out and is an off the shelf item. NVME 2242 goes up to 2TB however isn't worth the cost though capacities up to 512gb are dirt cheap often selling for less than $40 these days.
On mine you can see where the M2 slot should be (there are solder points) but there is no bus slot for it so I'd say the answer is no. It's too bad because a larger drive would make this little computer a way better buy for the $100 I paid.
Does anyone know if WP screw is facing up when you take the bottom cover or do you have to take a deep dive to access it? Some are on under side of MB. Thanks
No, from what I've read, the 2nd gen 100e uses a soldered eMMC. You could probably take the laptop to a component-level repair shop to have the storage upgraded. However, it's most likely not worth the expense, depending upon the costs of labor in your part of the world.
You can install anything you want on it. After all it's just a computer/laptop. It's MTK x86 based CPU makes it a little more difficult but there are MTK drivers for Windows 10. So it's not Intel based. You might be able to install linux or an x86 based Android OS. I work at a school district with lots of Lenovo Chromebooks including this one. Up to this poing I have messed around with each Lenovo Chromebook escept the 100e 2nd gen MTK based and could install Linux and x86 Android and started the Windows 10 install but never finished it as I decided against it.
Chris Keller hey my school gave me a laptop and its administration locked how can I get this off? I tried calling the school and administrator but got no response
Question. I have just bought one of these. It is so slow. My daughter cant even play roblox on it it lags..Can i somehow buy RAM for it or install ram myself?

Which 100e Gen 2 was this? Is there no 2242 slot in the one you've got?

I'm having an issue getting the keyboard out. There doesn't seem to be any way to get something into the ridges.
2 Questions, Can I upgrade the screen with the same size IPS screen? Also, can I change eMMC memory with an SSD? Thank you!
@TechGuy77 is there any m.2 slots to add more ssd storage? As I opened the back and I didn't see any m.2 slots. Will it be found under the keyboard?
@TechGuy77 I can confirm the AMD variant of the 2nd gen 100e solders the eMMC to the motherboard, and I would expect the Intel variant does as well.
