Someday, before I die, I hope to see one. So far, I doubt it will be this one.
I understand why this hit you so hard, there aren't words to describe how this got me right in the feels. I hope your son gets to grow in a world that knows peace.

Thank you, Elizabeth! I am a retired music teacher and the current music director of the Tempe Symphony Orchestra. When I retired, I was burning out on music after 52 years of essentially living in a non-stop world of music. After a year of having the orchestra as my only remaining connection to music, I began to look for a way to resuscitate my love of music. I happened upon your RUclips channel by following a link after listening to Ann Wilson performing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors. I instantly found myself feeling much like I did as a teenager discovering the power of music all over again. I love having you as one of my guides to different kinds of music with which I was unfamiliar. Through you, I fell in love with a capella music (especially Pentatonix), David Draiman, and most importantly Dimash! As thrilling as Dimash's range and technical prowess are, his passion and seemingly limitless depth of expression/musicality brings me to tears. Even after listening to many of his performances (more times than I care to admit), his power to draw me in never seems to wane. I am also learning to understand and appreciate the world of vocal music more than ever because of your gift; you integrate analysis and heartfelt emotion so perfectly. Thank you Elizabeth, for bring music back into my life in a way I believed was no longer possible.

When Dimash premiered this song at his concert he gave a speech prior to singing the song. I think that speech is important and gives context to the song and story:
"Many thanks dear friends, before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much.
We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents.
And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation.
I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next.
But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true.
We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children,
we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children.
They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities.
I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago.
Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world.
It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart.
To tell you truth, many thanks to god and with your wishes I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours.
One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality!
I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here...
Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war.
Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer!
Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault.
The truth of the matter is, no ordinary person is guilty of starting a war!
That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky".
    Hope you like it."

From the way the MV moves, the baby was an infant when an adult male looking very Dimash-like joined the group of male persons of various religions that had been on a journey upward always upward and their upward experience seem to coincide with the emotional turmoil that DQ's character experienced like the storm at the time of his rage and murder of the dictator, etc? I always viewed the group of pilgrims as being on a spiritual plane possibly parallel to ours? Watch it again with those elements in mind & see if you don't feel this also, Dear 😇✌️🕊️🇰🇿👼

Thank you. I know that this was difficult for you and it should be. That is the point of this masterpiece. I know that it was really hard to separate the visuals from the vocals because they all become one story. Dimash doesn't want us to put blinders on about what is happening in the world. This is all about going towards peace and away from dictators. The symbol on the necklaces is the gnomon, which is the main part of a sundial. Notice that the taller boy bends his and he grows to become the commander. He has lost his way. The drowning boy becomes the soldier (Dimash), the girl chooses him over the taller boy who saved his life. She marries the soldier and they have the little girl who is killed by the commander's soldiers. She is pregnant and is whisked away to an underground place to give birth to their baby boy. She dies in childbirth. The soldier seeks out his old friend with hatred because he caused his daughter's death and the war. He kills him and is then killed in return. He relives his life and screams 'we choose life'. He dies at the moment of his son's birth. The pilgrims are from ALL religions and are struggling toward the light and life and peace. The baby boy now wears the necklace from his mother, he becomes the robed leader of the pilgrims. He is also the soldier reincarnated and he is also Dimash who created this story to tell us. He is leading us to life and peace. The words at the end come from the conference on religions that Dimash 1st performed this song. The Pope was there and gave Dimash a commemorative medal for his work towards peace. Dimash gave everything to this incredible message. His vocals cut through to your soul. They are beautiful, emotional, and meaningful.

Thanks for the great analysis, I was hoping that one day you would view this work of art with us.
The boy who played the savior became the dictator, the saved child then became Dimash the soldier, the young girl became his wife. The child that perished was their daughter, and the newborn was their son. The son was the hope for the future and Dimash in the end was the grown up son walking the path of peace.
Yes, as you have recognized, the video is intended to show the cruelty and senselessness of war. Perfect cycle of violence up to the act of revenge at the end.

Thanks so much for your expert analysis of what has to be one of the most masterful audiovisual compositions within memory. There's so much one could latch onto as "the" moment throughout the piece, but setting aside Dimash's technical prowess and emotional delivery (which are all but fait accompli at this point), the vocalise interlude is by far the part I return to time and again. Bringing together all the world's religions through the iconography of each, marching towards a common goal of peace and harmony was just beautiful. Particularly poignant was the blowing of the Jewish shofar, shot so spectacuarly in profile against the sky. As with Dimash's "Ave Maria", no words are necessary when the voice is at its zenith. I'm sure interpretations abound regarding what I'd normally point to as Dimah's magnum opus. But having followed him for a number of years, I'm rather sure that he's not done sharing his gift with us. Thanks again for the great detailed analysis.

When Dimash sings this live, for the first time, on stage at his stadium Almaty concert, the images on the screen behind him of actual war footage is even more horrific than the MV/Short film, and appropriately so. I think he is hitting us hard in order to communicate "Look, you can not stand by as passive observers! There are individuals who are actively and forcefully destroying peace and freedom around the world and hurting the innocent in their path; and if you want this to stop then you need to see it, feel it, hear it, and FACE IT and act bravely to STOP IT!!!!! Because such destructive "leaders" are counting on people to NOT pay attention, to not see it or feel it or FACE IT because the people don't want to have their emotions upset, they don't want "negativity", they don't want to be disturbed with reality, I don't want to see it, I don't want to see it........ they only want to be entertained and party....and that is an open door to what Dimash so brilliantly makes us painfully aware of thru his masterpiece The Story of One Sky.

@@masslo870 this reactor is an analyst not your garden variety generic reactor which is why in this instance a viewer receives an incredibly analysis by avoiding looking at the video in order NOT to react. Whoever told her to analyze this one should be scolded as they should have said do NOT try to analyze it, just watch it through once then go analyze the LIVE performance. I'm not sure if you watched the whole video because she actually apologized to those who are here to watch her analysis (NOT to watch her react) because she admitted it was too difficult not to be swept up into the video. I think you're being a little too critical of her. She's not a reactor, Dear.😇✌️🇰🇿🕊️👼 I think she appreciated what DQ was trying to say & do in this MV.

You have given the best reaction to the use of sound and voice of the many good reactions I've heard to the Story of One Sky". No one else has caught it's use in the drowning scene at the beginning.. Learn so much from your analyses of Dimash's voice and what is happening when he sings. You are a very perceptive, sensitive and beautiful person. Loved your message about wanting your channel to be a place of diversity , unity and live of music.. if everyone were like you Elizabeth, Dimash would never have had to compose "Story of One Sky", Thank you for being so genuine about your emotions and for not looking away. The live performance of "Story of One Sky" by Dimash in Almaty Concert Part 3 deserves Grammy after Grammy after Grammy and but more than for his mastery, artistry and talent, he sings with every ounce of his being. He's using all his gifts and training and fame to do good and create more peace. Dimash is a blessing to the whole world in every way. I have to listen to him sing every day. You are a blessing too and am sure you are a loving mother. Thank you.

I've been seeing your reactions to Dimash for quite some time and this one in particular struck me because of your sensitivity and honesty. I am a loyal fan of Dimash and I was also blown away by this new installment from him.
I believe that it is not a mistake to try to make common sense prevail over a political position.
For me the message is clear, do not believe in false leaders or get dragged into war to defend false objectives. History is full of examples where people were tricked into defending selfish interests.
I congratulate you on your motherhood

I really felt for you, watching your reaction. I had seen the video already, once, and given your statement in the beginning, I knew it would be really hitting you hard. (As it had hit me, too.) Thank you for undertaking the immense effort to still concentrate on the musical aspects - I learn so much every time I watch one of your reactions.
But I, too, had problems, when watching the video for the first time, to concentrate on the music at all, as the images were so powerful. However, it still stuck with me then and it still does, that Dimash for sure was creating sounds with his voice I had never ever thought a human being might be able to do. In some scenes, it felt like a punch in the gut with his voice.
I don't know if he is "the" best singer in the world. There are so many really good singers out there, albeit in different styles, that I find it really hard to compare them. But he for sure has the most versatile voice I have ever heard. It's not only the range, it's all the different ways of singing as well.
    I am still stunned.
Thank you again, for both doing and completing this reaction. I also hope your baby's fine. (Even though they are probably a toddler by now? Anyway. :) )

So you gained this new perspective on life and death, found happiness due to the birth of your first child - I can only congratulate and honestly and heartfully wish you and your family the best.
Just please don't ever forget that nerdy girl inside that many of us love to watch and listen to. Not to sound too bitter, but there is already more than enough "child-birth gave my life a new meaning" content out there.
Love and family is not granted to everyone. It's a sad truth - but the rest of "us" is still out there, still living our lives. Allow the childless, nerdy, games playing humans to still enjoy content we can relate to, laugh about, get sentimental about, think about.

Elizabeth, congratulations on the birth of your child. Children certainly change our hearts and lives. We can be sensitive before having kids, but after… wow! I respect that you made it through this video. Dimash pulled out all the stops and told the story powerfully- vocally and visually. Truly a masterpiece. I torture myself to watch this to see others feel and understand the story along with hearing the incredible musicality of Dimash. The performance (there is a fancam from Almaty as well as the official video from the concert) in Almaty May be visually less disturbing, but every bit as powerful. After a marathon of emotions (and- as always - an intelligent and insightful analysis!), I trust that some serious cuddle time with your child was warranted! Prayers for peace from Canada!
