Seeing my old fishing haunts from 60 years ago was amazing. Thank you so much. You caught about the same as we used to, small chub and eels. We also used to get loads of dace, but on maggots.. Thanks again for the memories.
I used Bailey's No.1 horse feed as ground bait for the first time this summer. Absolutely brilliant. Bream, carp, roach and tench are really drawn by it. Cheers Graeme.
Hi. It's Paul from Two Novice Anglers. We really enjoyed that. It's a miserable day here in Durham. We can't get fishing atm but this was a great distraction from the difficulties of things. Thanks for a great video.
This is what you do best other than on the briney thinking on your feet all the time and on the eels I am 70 yrs old and still fish but my dad loved eels and I spent a lot of time as a kid eel fishing with my dad good times.
Either of those days would have been a good day for me. I've only ever fished the Thames (very early morning before the boats start coming along) but the river Wye looks a different class. I never used a quiver tip but stuck with the old fashioned swing tip. It produced some good fish, but even on your worst day you catch more. All the tips you give out for anglers are a great source of reference. Thanks for posting.
Great stuff mate, like the long videos with the cook ups. Definitely need you and Mike on an overnighter sharing one bivvy and the mother of all cook ups 👍
Brilliant vid as always. You put a lot of time and effort into this one Graham, not to mention the mileage and stay over. So a big thank you from me for a great evenings entertainment. Take care
I wasn't sure if I should call it a Coracle, but that's exactly what I thought it was . An interesting way to see the river, I think I would be going round in circles like a corkscrew with one of those.
I have great memories of fishing for eels down the Isle of Grain in Kent as a kid with my Dad. Great times. Nice to see there still about as we rarely catch them locally nowdays, they seem a lot rarer and I did read they were struggling in numbers.
Hey Graeme, I know it's hard work editing your videos, buT on behalf of all of The headphone users like myself, I would like to add the note that I can only hear audio in one ear for most of the video. The wisdom you have is inspiring and I watch all of your videos, keep em coming! Just a little insight for future videos as it makes it hard to watch with headphones when it pans to one ear.
Yes,I have a few films with it playing in mono...not so noticeable on a monitor or phone, but accentuated with headphones. I must remember to rig the new one up, must be a dodgy contact in the old one.
I'm going to get myself up to Woodys tackleshop one of these days. I bet he has gotten a few customers from you Graeme. Thanks for the video once again. You'll be at 1000 before long,.
Id rather watch you do a cook up than Gordon Ramsey... then along come two wonks on paddle boards. So much for the middle of nowhere! Thanks Graeme David S Carolina
I always found on the Severn, which in parts is similar to the Wye, I needed to always fish below a very well oxygenated section to catch the barbel. So over that quick section you fished in the video where the water starts to get a little deeper
I use a leader straightener I made for fly fishing to polish and unkink the line. Im probably odd, but I think the chub is a beautiful fish. David S Carolina
Great content as usual Graeme thanks for the entertainment, the Wye is such a good river. I wonder would you feel more confident wading in chest waders or would they encourage you to venture further in before taking a tumble?
Greame loving this....did you go in after all? I went in twice in 1997. 2 barbels over 11lb and nearly 2 lost rods! So glad that you can get day tickets as I used to fish at Wyelea Manor (accomodation+fishing) but they don't offer this now. Cheers as always. Definitely no SAGA membership for you :)
Funny graham how one minute you can be catching fish after fish then your struggling. To be fair though the river was very low. Best fishing usally on the wye is with a bit of water on and a touch of colour. But hay oh at least you caught fish and still a brilliant video as always.
Yeah, trip before was 16 Barbel in under 4 hours...That film being held for later...That's why I went up again. Different trip entirely though this time.
Are those rods Is the original John Wilson Avon/Quivertip jobs from the 1980s? My mate had a pair of those when they first came out and he loved them. It's all a long time ago though. 🤣How have all those years passed so quickly?
so nice to have a video thats not just for beginners for a change as to be fair i stopped watching for a while because of it, dont get me wrong we all need to start somewhere and rightly so you make them for beginners but some of us arent so it nice just to see you just fishing, nice that you mix it up a bit... loving the cooking, food always tastes better by the bank.
Hi Graeme, was watching the hard work you did at Mikes air raid shelter, you really made it secure and child proof.the next video he smashed it all down, felt really sorry for you, day of your life wasted. Kids
I'm currently talking about it with Mike as I just can't get the weather and marinas are closed for me getting Hi Sea Drifter to sea...Might be on the cards for this winter.
@@TAFishing Awesome thanks for the reply Graham, your a bit of a legend in my house so we are chuffed you got back to us, good luck with the mission and tight lines!
Willow likes to drop branches sections of it self so that it can go down stream go onto another piece of land and start growing. Got one of my chainsaw courses as a result willow tree dropped a section nearly 1 ton in weight narrowly missing someone. They all got removed
What fishing rod would you recommend for pollock fish here in ireland for spinning use I want something light that won't reck my wrist after 3-4 hours casting.
im not ganna lie you and your son look like younger and older versions of each other i watched a old carp video and yee were looking at the lake and both of your eyes glisened in the same way.
Never gone fishing to relax..before the invention of video I shot stills for the books and magazines I wrote for...Same pressure..no fish = no story...I used to have 20,000 stills in my photo library.Still got a few thousand,I should scan them into my films.
Hi Graeme, how about doing a video on what weather apps and information, tide times table, and other safety reports you use before you decide to go out on HSD, maybe of intrest to viewers who are thinking of kayaking or boating for the first time.
No clue about diameters but I use Maxima Chameleon in 6lb generally...used it for 40 years I reckon(not the same line, but I have been known to buy a new fill-up every 2 years !!).
100% Agree , when the eels are feeding Nothing else is, BUT,,, Yeah There's A But,, what I'll do is keep me a couple of those ,Skin Them filet Them cut them into strips about 2 Inches long and Soak the strips in a Cheese Bait For Catfish , channel cats love it and I love channel cats to Eat , so it's a win win you see lol 🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️ ,,
Is anyone able to tell me, I was wondering if I was to use some whiting that I have caught and cut it into small strips and fished this on a small octopus rig ( the artificial octopus ) do you think this would catch any decent eating fish?
I gotta agree with you!! Everytime I go fishing, it dosent matter where it is! I always see Empty Cans of sweetcorn...meet and bear cans!!!! Left behind by the fishermen...I mean If you love fishing and nature surly you care enough to pick your crap up!!!! Otherwise dont go fishing! It pisses me off! Sorry for the language, but just stay at home.
Hasn't your right wrist got issues being cocked at that angle so much holding the rod and Co trolling your li e with the bale arm off I guess your arm is OK because the rod is fairly balanced
@@TAFishing I fish the river suir in the south of ireland for rainbow, pike and salmon I had great success with a Tazmanian devil lure ha be you ever tried such a lure
I use plain old horses to fish. Just chuck one in and bob's your uncle. In my experience you can just about fish with any bait at all, but that wouldn't make an exciting sounding video would it?
Its all eau naturale' I am happy to say...but I'm not bothered too much about my appearance so I'm not running a comb through it every five minutes, plus I have had a band with a camera round my head so it scrunches up, but it does seem to drive some people to distraction....Thank goodness I don't have to drag 7 strands of hair across my head pretending I'm fully "turfed up "!!!..As for the false dog rug or a transplant you must be new to the channel as regulars will know I certainly wouldn't be paying for that..I don't even pay for haircuts, my wife was a fashion hairdresser hailing from Harrods !... My son will pay £12 for a few millimetres to be snipped off....I would sooner spend that money on a pound of Ragworm !!
Thanks for doing this ☺️, makes my weekend.

If its good enough for conditioning racehorses its good enough for fish.....You can always mix it with other stuff as well.
Every day I just hope a new ta vid comes out. It’s the best time of the week.
Next week another mid week special.
I really enjoy your filming thank you.
Pretty hard fishing Graeme but you at least caught a few with a consolation Barbel.
Thanks, for the video.

Your fishing videos are incredible, this place is very beautiful, it has beautiful fish, congratulations you are a great fisherman.👍🎣🐟😊
Really enjoyed our couple of days fishing together on the Wye. Thanks for taking me along with you.
You know you watch to much TA Fishing when your misses says it feels like Graeme lives with us 😅
BRILLIANT,
This really illustrates the advantage you can gain by wading! Thanks, as always.
Turned in to a good session Graham, excellent
A great film, tough fishing but uncanny how you always get your net wet, an inspiration to all the youngsters !

They say having eels is a sign of a healthy river, at least that's what I heard.

Nomura range are quite good.We finds a 4/5 piece travel rod they do is quite light to work with. Been featured in a couple of our shore films .
any carp fishing vids coming out? great vid
