That's a great pack Clive... it strikes me as a combo of the U.S. Large Alice & the British patrol ruck. I recently picked up, brand new unissued, $45 U.S., the Alice based pack but for the PRC-150 man-pack radio - 17x12x4 inches with 1/2 inch foam all 4 sides acts like a frame. 3 large external pouches. Just had to add a waist and sternum strap. Now I don't try to take the entire house with me !

I agree, I don't want to take the whole house with me either lol

I like the pack and pouches. It works well with, and without the pouches.

@@tB3o3tR9o9 I just use my poncho to cover it when needed.
There are cheap ones online that will do, but I don't think they will last very long.

Good day. Tell me, what are the names of the pouches that hang from the front on the shoulder straps? And thanks for the hard work!!!

      G'day RomanPepper.
      Thank you for your question.
The pouches on the shoulder straps are the Helikon Tex Navtel Pouches.
They are one of my favorite pouches.
Thank you for your thanks 😀

      @RomanPepper welcome, & thank you.
The Matilda is a very versatile pack.
The option for adding pouches or strapping to the pack using the side compression straps or strapping to the bottom.
I hope I have given you some ideas to use the Matilda in the best way for you.
      All the best.

I have a smaller helikon tex bag think lite EDC pack fits great that's why I got the matilda..the matilda is uncomfortable to me like in the arm pit area. Like the straps angle kinda weird in that area rigid strap digs in . Not a ton of weight in it. Any ideas ? Think it's a break in issue. Or just bad fit for me. Tried many adj point very short strap riding high waist belt over belly button to very low always kinda digs in

    • @CDPOutdoors

I make sure that my hip belt sits higher up on my hips, that way when I tighten the hip belt most of the weight is going to my hips.
Also when packing I do my best to have most of the weight is close to my body, that way the pack is not leaning back and takes the pressure of the shoulder straps.
I also make sure the shoulder straps are just holding the pack to my back and does not have to be tightened up too much.
The chest strap does not have to be too tight, just enough to stop the straps falling off your shoulders, which will help to take the pressure away from your arm pit too.
There will be a little of breaking in too, but not too much for me.
      I hope this helps.
      All the best
      Clive
