I think there is one thing people always forget when it comes to youtube videos: it‘s the way of talking. And as other comments already said, I like to listen to your talking. And the things you say. I do like your style and editing (bought all your luts and packs 😂) but to be honest, I watch all your videos while I‘m getting ready in the morning. So while doing my make-up I barely look on the screen, I just love hearing what you have to say. I would not mind if you were just sitting and talking 😂🤝
That’s what I do too! And with other channels I follow. I just put them on and listen. I don’t mind slower talking either bc it’s better for our brains ❤(not saying he talks slow but some other channels I listen to do)
His video on teaching how to film with an iPhone is still one of my favorite and it’s the one that keeps me coming back for more.. I would love for him to make a video of how to film B roll inside a home setting with an iPhone. He’s an excellent teacher and I would definitely watch that!
To be honest, I’ve noticed that the channels I return to for every video and watch regardless if the content is sometimes not the burner, is when I feel a connection to the personality or character of the person in the channel or, if the information is effective in my life. I return to this channel because of the chill vibe, the consistency and good nuggets, beautiful captures, South Africa and the young gentleman is very edgy, gifted, polite and interesting. Rare gems.
Oh my goodness! All this time, I never realised that Sean is South African! All this time, I assumed he was from somewhere overseas. I love the quality of his videos, how his personality shines through, and the valuable tips he shares to content creators. Cool!
Great comments, I launched my first video 5 weeks ago and it got a great response, then I just created a new video and its pretty stagnent. My focus is on quality not quantity and your comments about packaging, really resonant. Thanks for the uplifting comments that have put me back on track from my temporary disillusionment. :)
Love the positive reinforcing vibe to keep us all working on this crazy craft. I would be interested in seeing you mock up what successful growth of a "typical" channel might look like during the "training and running of the marathon". Show a channel timeline where a video is published twice a month of a length of 10 minutes and what would bad, average, good and excellent growth of subscribers, views and watch hours look like (?). I know my content and thumbnails are getting better but also wonder about having a brand intro and ending for each video which points to another video...... still learning and enjoying the ride. Thanks for your continuing help!
Oh God, there are so many rules, algorithms, and everything else on social media right now, it’s just terrifying. And on top of that, it’s changing at an insane speed. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I reached out to a company that took all this headache off my shoulders. I want to be a creator, not a marketer, a targeting specialist, a cameraman, a lawyer, and a hundred other things 😭 Right now, I’m collaborating with Air Media-Tech, and I don’t plan on changing anything. I’m more than happy with it.
Thanks for the share, great advice. My problem is psychological... the "failure to launch" syndrome. I just can't get it together... but I will, or " I'm leaving town for the last time... again". brother.
Thank you. Listening to you makes me feel a sense of relief and motivation to hang on. It has been a marathon for me. I’m a retiree, and I’ve been on YT for almost 3 years now and still have not reached 1000 subs. I wanted to give up after my first year coz I didn’t even get 500 subs and the earlier views were falling off the rolling 365-day period. But I picked myself up and went at it again. Today, at 900+ subs, I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, altho it’s still a bit stuck (like tyres stuck in mud). I worry, several times a day, that the number will go down. Anyway, I have a favour to ask (sorry, I’m not tech-savvy): Could you please do a video explaining the terminologies in Analytics? Like, I don’t even understand the differences between ‘browse features’, ‘channel pages’, ‘suggested videos’, ‘other RUclips features’, etc. 😓. Also, when you talked about ‘viewer saturation’, where do you see that, please? Thank you so much!
My channel is still very new. I have less than 100 subscribers, very few views and almost no interaction. I am using this time as a learning period: figuring out what schedule works for me, can I do three, two or only one video per week.
These are not secrets. These tips have been given many times before and by other RUclipsrs. Golden tip: try to be original. Good luck btw in your new studio. May you continue to grow. Hopefully with practical videos, that's more fun than foggy storytelling videos 😉

I've tried it all, everyone else seems to have it figured out. It's always people that show up out of nowhere that make it.
