I'm 4 weeks in to an 8 week monetization journey, and your videos have been a huge help to me in focusing my efforts on what's important. I'm experimenting, trying a few new things, and working to find my own voice. Some things work, others, not so much. But my views and watch time are going up! Thanks for all of the value yiu provide in your content.
Awesome to hear that and good idea with setting up a 8 week strategy. Sounds like you have the exact mindset to make it work. Hope its going well and glad the videos could help!

Thanks for sharing your insights. I think onscreen presence (not an easy one to master) and the ability to tell interesting stories are super important too. Another great video.
Thank you Sean, im brand new to setting up my RUclips, thought it was time to do this as i feel ive enough knowledge in my field to give out advice and help like minded people (18 years in the fitness industry) Its going really well, i mean its tough fitting it all in with my daily work and family life but making it work and ive had some lovely comments already. Lets keep pushing! 🏆😁

Just applied for a shot at your test group for your full time RUclips, focus group/trial run/guinea pig students/mentees? (Is that a word? I know its a word but that looks so wrong for some reason😂) You have no idea how stuck I am and the amount of ideas Ive waste binned, going back and forth over how to launch and how many video outlines have been deleted, how many "takes" Ive immediately deleted because I fell like theyre absolutely horrible 😂😳 (well you probably know EXACTLY, but....) Thanks for the rated aspects! It definitely sheds much needed light on things I thought were more important than everything else when you found others to be more essential. Hope to be in your debut class but if I dont make the cut, cant wait to see the program you roll out none the less!
I'd love to get some thoughts on how to better my channel... I too feel that a good story is what makes a video worth watching but I struggle with it. I'd love to get a "real" creator's thoughts on the progress of my channel. But... I can't imagine ever being successful enough with youtube to replace my normal job. It's a nice dream though.
I’ve found marketing to be the hardest thing for me. I don’t seem to be able to master all of that to get my videos in front of people. I don’t want to be clickbaity, but I think I’m doing it wrong. 😂
Thank you for the video. I won’t waste your time applying as I don’t think your offer is applicable. I’m not wanting to be a full time RUclipsr. I am a healthcare professional and simply want a channel to provide good health info (something like Dr. Abs channel). If you decide to offer training for that then it would match my needs. Thank you.
Yeah it can be very tricky in the space. I think something important is to analyse why certain things aren't working and adapt to something new that might work better. Try a few new things and experiment, maybe something clicks. I admire your persistence, keep it going.
We have had our youtube channel since 2015 and only just got to 1000 subs we have had over a million views but yet the channel has been so slow to grow. I think youtube has had it in for us.
This is not different to everything else in life. Contrary to what what 99% of people believes, the success on anything is given and predetermined by destiny. If one is destined to have a big youtube channel, it will happen, no matter what you do or don't do. This is why it is in fact really sad that those who succeed, pretend to "teach" others on how to be successful. If men cannot predict nor control the time of their death or birth for that matter, what makes them believe they can control ANYTHING? It is almost like a flower teaching other flowers how to bloom, ridiculous 😂 Just do what you have to do and be what you are, simple, and stop listening to mammals pretending to be in control of Life😂
Sean - I create for a hobby. I find learning this craft and the creative process fun and exhilarating. I will never be a channel with 10,000 or more subscribers because I am not willing to put that much time into it to create enough consistent content. Don't get me wrong I do work at this very hard and recognize I am improving but I am also realistic. I wanted to give you context before I told you I clicked on the link for people to submit to the RUclips Program not because I intended to apply but I wanted to get a view into how you were going to evaluate the applicants. It appears you are going to review their RUclips channel as a way to determine who you work with. I would be interested in understanding what you are looking for as you watch applicants RUclips channel. Are you looking for potential based on the number of areas you can see potential improvement or is it something else? I think it would be fascinating to understand your thought process of who you choose for the beta testing. I was glad to see you feel the Script or Story is the most important based on the rating of 10/10. I would love to see more on this subject in future videos. Particularly how you take a script and cut it into all the small scenes to support the story and make it better vs having the the sequence of scenes not support or tell the story the way you envisioned. I am starting to understand the importance of so many of the areas you teach but this is the one I continue to struggle with. Keep the videos coming they help stretch my creative ability and I love them. This is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, really cool to hear how excited you are about creating content that is awesome. Yeah the script writing area is a fascinating one and a topic I feel you can never master. I learn as much as I can about it and try and improve the way I do things to this day. Good idea to share more of the process though. If you see a video come out like this soon you know where I got the idea from ;) For the program, I don't want to vet the applicants too much based on their content they already have and more focus on what they are aiming to get out of the channel. I think a good way to do it is also pick people from a broad spectrum of experience. Some with a following, some who haven't even created a channel yet. Thanks for the support!

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah its a tricky one. I think practice is the best bet for it to be honest.

Thank you for making this video. I've been seriously working on my channel for about 8 weeks. I'm at 116 subs and growing slowly.

Which of these 5 do you feel you don't put effort into?

Has to be scripting. I don’t really think about scripting because of my filming style. 🤔
thank you Sean I appreciate you

Yeah I think story telling is such a deep topic and so hard to master. Hope you applied for the program and hopefully we can work on it together.

Ugh, it seems so scary to start long form videos! I can do it, I can do it! I’ve been stuck in the shorts world!
Not to nitpick, but the proper spelling is wasting in the context of this video.
Thanks for sharing your helpful insights.
@seankitching i dont think my channel is applicable to your program 🤔
