If anyone doesn’t know, when you summon a sparrow mid air, it’s significantly easier to sparrow fly because it doesn’t auto reset your sparrow if you don’t rotate enough in air. It also allows you to start rotating your sparrow much faster, and with more control.
I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the support that this video has been getting recently, pretty cool to have a video with over 60k views :) Notes: 1. You need the scourge sparrow for slipstreaming because it has 6 boosts or 6 dodges, any normal sparrow ONLY has 4 boosts and 4 or 6 dodges 2. If you are dying to sparrow launches, try turning slower and DO NOT DODGE just get off 3. If you are confused about sparrow flying because I used degrees, just dodge the opposite direction of where you head is at when it is on the left and the right, idk why I used degrees I'm just fucking retarded or some shit
I watched the slipstream part of this video several times while trying to learn it--felt like it was an easier place to start since you don't have to alternate dodge directions. I spent a good 30 minutes failing until I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was holding shift+s+a too long in between dodges. Once I figured that out, 20 more minutes of practice and I was rocketing across the hellmouth 9 out of 10 tries ;) I then spent a full hour zooming and blowing the minds of random blueberries.. I actually had 3 of them standing at the edge all watching me at one point, lmao. It's so much fun! Thanks for this tutorial ;)

@@SuperGamerGuy24 what exactly are you spamming too much? if it is shift a+s, try doing it every second dodge, as opposed to every dodge, you will get less speed, but it is a good starting point to slow down your rotations and your movements.

Always on time has base 6x dodges compared to any other sparrow, so its much better for slipstreaming. normal sparrow boosts 2x, and has 1/2 energy left for 3 dodges, always on time uses 2x boost and is at 4/6 energy, allowing it to dodge 4x while slipstreaming. Other than that, great vid! managed to learn all these tricks in the last 2 days, feels great to be able to do this
Really good guide, learned Sparrowflying and Slipstreaming myself after i saw it in a speedrun of a mission and gotta say, this explains it perfectly, but i still suck at Sparrow launching.

hey awesome tutorial , can do the first 2 moves now ...stuck on slipstream now its going decent but i lose speed and end up spinning in the same spot i also lack hight in the hell mouth Do u got some tips for me? the tutorial is super clear btw
If you find yourself losing speed, you are dodging too late on your rotations. For slipstreaming you want to dodge too early rather than too late. This is probably why you are losing height as well.
in the first game i was a master of sparrow flying. im just now getting into destiny 2 and it really seems like they made it more difficult and the sparrow side boots just arent as good as they used to be
Sparrow flying is so fluid that you would need 200 macros do be able to do everything. I would say your best bet is to learn this stuff yourself, plus its more rewarding that way. I don't know a single good player who macros sparrow flying / slip streaming

i keep getting kicked out of my sparrow, am i doing something wrong? Spawn sparrow > shift a > dodge > dodge > kicked out of sparrow. Is the shift a in between the dodges really needed? when i slot it in i spin out of control lol
If youre upside down for too long it kicks you off, the idea with the shift a is to tap it to get you spinning, you don't want to hold it for very long
to gain the most height when you side dodge, you need to be at exactly 90 degrees or 270 degrees, it will send you straight up vertically. Also you can try capping your frames to 30, your side dodge is more effective with low frames.
is there any possible way to change the dodge sparrow key from double-tapping a and d, its really inconsistent and most of the time never actually dodges
i dont have the wrath of the machine sparrow, so i am using an exotic sparrow with vernier thrusters. is it really not possible to slipstream at all? i am confused as to why having less boost means its not possible. if you have less boost you should still be able to slipstream, just wont be as efficient. all that being said, i have been trying to get slipstreaming to work and just cant do it. tried advancing and delaying the timing on my dodges and nothing changes. sparrow just doesnt gain height. also, i wanted to try messaging you on discord about this but i am unable to without adding you or being in a server with you (maybe im dumb). edit: i figured it out.
You figured out how to slipstream, or why the scourge sparrow is the best for it? As to why the scourge sparrow is the only one worth using: it has 6 boosts, when you boost, you lose a bit of energy for the rest or your actions while boosting. The more you lose, the less dodges you now have. So if you have the scourge sparrow, a boost will take 1/6th of your energy whereas any normal sparrow will take 1/4th. This will only allow you to do a maximum of 4 dodges instead of 5 giving you a lot less distance and height
How do you turn to the right so fast when sparrow flicking(launching) on console? When I hold down LT to boost my speed then press my right stick to the right it turn slowly to the right, not nearly as fast as you. If I hold down RT on controller while turning right I turn faster but lose speed since it applies the brakes.

did a lot of struggling to try and figure this one out. i believe this happens because of a ui bug that happens upon pulling up director (tab) and then summoning sparrow (e). if you pull sparrow too quickly after opening the director, you can sometimes have the director open still even after you are on your sparrow. this causes you to be unable to control the sparrow for a brief period. to get around this, simply hold your director menu open for a little while longer than normal, and then summon the sparrow. this bug gave me a lot of problems when it came to doing anything aerial. hope this helps.

Yo I've been trying to learn slipstreaming on the mercury towers but I always end up stopping midair half way through. Do you know what's causing this? I've looked back at OBS footage and it seems like I'm doing it right (dodging left while at ~200 to ~250 degrees counterclockwise) but I just slow down and lose all momentum I gained in the first few boosts.
That’s how it always is at first, I recommend just practicing and doing it over and over again, eventually it’ll just click. Also, if you’re veering off to the left during your slipstreams, then you’re dodging too late, if you find yourself losing height quickly, you’re dodging too early,
