Godfather is stretching it. I’d say Giggs is, before 2006/2007 when giggs blew up on the scene Uk never really had an established hip hop scene it was mainly Garage/Grime in its early years
@@ct9122 giggs is grime gone to far. Early drill one could even say. Akala is not the godfather, that can go to Wiley. (Garage/grime) is rap and Wiley changed it up. Akala is akala and he has had the positive effect on us he wanted. Uk rap though is just on a crazy different level and we have so many talented rappers it’s hard to say one is better than the other.
Akala is our Treasure here in the UK. He is a highly intellectual individual who has written many books, given lectures in Oxford university like Malcolm X and travels all over the world campaigning. I so desperately want to join his movement but with all the racism in the world and social media, it is so difficult to connect or reach out to him. If anyone knows of his official contact details, please respond to this message. In the mean time, I will continue to read his books and study everything he has to throw at me. Absolutely fabulous Akala. I also have to give thanks to the security guard at Lewisham College in London who described Akala to me (4 years ago) in every single way possible but just couldn't quite remember Akala's name. However, I took on board the information provided and did some intensive research online, found Akala and have never looked back. Now I have a few of Akala's books. Akala is an articulate, educated, well travelled, self made business man, Has a few albums, a few books, has created stageplays. First time on your channel, love your reactions. The facials expressions was like mine the first time I saw him. I looked for part 4 but couldn’t see if you’d done it. You NEED TO
Akala is a genius he does countless lectures at all the top universities he owns his own companies travels the world spreading knowledge and educating the youth he’s a national treasure who needs to be protected at all costs
Love to see you guys going in casually talking about Star Wars and gradually waking up to the force itself! You didn't expect nothing of this calibre. And the beauty is nobody does... Too bad you didn't catch the Cartier line from him though. Now as any reaction channel on the internet has to do: part 4. Good luck
yeah my comment to make was they need to pause when talking and then rewind 10 secs. They missed so many epic lines. Haha lyrics on screen could help too.
Wait until you hear part 4. It's a must watch. Another guy you should react to on the same level and their good friends is Mic Righteous Fire in the booth part 3. That's legendary and sits alongside Akalas part 4
Oh no you’ve discovered Akala, Ms Dynamites younger brother. One of British’s smartest mathematicians, the guy is genius. Been to see him live. Speaks pure facts. Listen to carried away 🔥🔥 another great reaction 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼
Please do more UK reactions, you're entering the best rap scene on the planet. Definitely listen to Akala's FITB part 2 and 4, also Wretch 32 & Avelino's FITB is a classic worth checking out
Loved your reaction guys, you have a new subscriber here! Akala is a national treasure to those in the know in the UK - he doesn't get radio play or much mainstream recognition, but he has built himself a massive fan base practically just off of RUclips. He is also a social activist, he has delivered Ted Talks and lectures at the Oxford Union debating society, he is a published author and all round solid dude (I was lucky enough to meet him briefly at Notting Hill Carnival before he was really famous). If you want more Akala suggestions, everyone will tell you to watch his Fire in the Booth part 4. It is long, but it is a masterpiece. This was recorded when he was very early in his career - part 4 is him after 10 years of perfecting his craft. There is a deep catalogue you can check out, my personal favourites are The Journey (ft Mic Righteous), Murder Runs The Globe as well as his two daily dupoy performances.
Akala is something special - Please check out his Fire in the Booth (Part 4) to see the progression of a master (The last part will blow you away) - If you like Topboy please check out Kano - Fire in the Booth (Kano plays Sully in Top Boy) his performance is outstanding. Also check out Little Simz - Venom and Little Simz - Introvert - Little Sims plays Shelley in Topboy as is one of the greatest UK rappers. Also you should check out Mic Righteous Fire in the Booths start at part 1 and go from there, part 1 onwards show a progression to rival and US rapper
Totally agree! The spoken word part is as deep and knowledgeable you will hear but if you like it check 'Chester P DJ gone freestyle' has my favourite bar of all time "Don't you ever think that the kiddies listen to your lyrics??? You ain't selling them the guns but you're selling them the image!!" From a 20+ year old freestyle but it's so prophetic and could have been spat this morning

Big up for this, from London 👊🏻👊🏻 both the main characters from Top Boy (Sully and Dushane) are legends and pillars in the UK music scene and how they made their first bags. Check some of their work out: Asher D (Dushane) and Kano (Sully). Plenty of other artists, particularly the London-grown Grime scene. Homeboy in the middle was damn near having a spiritual awaking 😂😂😂 love to see it! React to part 4!
Hahaha my thoughts exactly.
Was about to comment the same thing.
