This game has to be rated M. It has to capture the brutality as the comics does
I wouldn't say M, maybe T at very least. But I doubt it will be higher than E10 since, TMNT is owned by Nickelodeon now.

@@terrencehill502 Plus, the Last Ronin comic may be an adult comic, but it's still part of Ninja Turtles franchise. And nowadays, EVERYONE who doesn't look at the franchise regularly thinks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is for children. No way it's gonna go dark and gritty, especially since (again) it's own by Nickelodeon now. The same channel that gave us SpongeBob SquarePants. I would LOVE to see this as dark and gritty and I hope I'm proven wrong, but I don't think Nickelodeon is brave enough, smart enough, or even careful enough to go down that route.
The Nickelodeon of it all worries me.

Regardless of what you like or don't like about it, it is undeniable that the TMNT franchise has stood the test of time and still stays relevant consistently. It's pretty impressive

I’m guessing those are hints to the order of the turtles’ deaths?
- Bloodiest Anger = Raphael
- Leader’s Final Order = Leonardo
- Snowy Graveyard = Donatello
I never read the comics, so I don’t know much about it, except that Michelangelo was the last surviving turtle.
These sentences mention the deaths of our tmnt characters: Raphael drowned in the docks while fighting karai after slaughtering all her foot soldiers. Leonardo and Casey Jones gets buried underneath burning rubble after fending off Baxter Stockman's Mousers and Footbots. Donatello and Master Splinter got shoot by a hailstorm of arrows after being ambushed by Hiroto and his foot ninjas. And that leaves Michaelangelo as the last surviving member of his family.
Each one of them went down honourably but the question is which one stood out well?
If you've not yet read the comic, can't recommend it enough. One of the best TMNT stories ever told. Watching those candles blow out, man, that hurts.
yeah i haven't read it the comic i grew up on was the archie's comic one and some of not all but some of the very end of the Original run that ended in (1993) and both are favorites of mine

None of the turtles were “lost to sea”. Raph and Karai stabbed each other. Yes, under water, but that is misleading to a few who missed the fact that he was stabbed in the throat (not drowned).

IT'S EXTREMELY SAD
Raphael wasn’t “drowned”. He was stabbed in the neck (under his chin) when Karai swiped the big kunai off his leg under water. They stabbed each other simultaneously. He stabbed her in the back with his sai. Obviously, a turtle wouldn’t drown within seconds of falling into water (especially at the same time as a human). Go back and read those panels again, I think you missed key details. Just sayin’.

It is very cool that they're going straight from the comic to a video game adaptation. Wish more stories would do this. Games should be more respected for their ability to bring worlds to life.
I was actually saying that to a friend of mine, could you imagine if more movies were to implement different comics. How awesome is the movies would be compared to getting the same old stuff recycled over and over again. I think this is gonna be a huge success.
This is gonna be the TMNT equivalent of the 2005 Ultimate Spider-Man video game.

I'm guessing they're talking about weapon switching and combos to take on specific enemies.

Sony simply secured the rights to make the game and quickly made the trailer to please investors (3rd quater end) and Ps5 owners.

This is an incredible trailer, the candles blowing out after the scenes of the turtles deaths really sets the tone of the game. I hope they do this justice.
Also this is the tmnt game I’ve been waiting for. Finally a change of pace, a lot of fans don’t realize just how brutal the world of the ninja turtles actually is.

be anxious to see if it has any flashback missions or parts of the lost years or something. I dunno if the main series will be long enough for a whole game so im excited to see what they come up with. Whether it's open world or linear, im excited.
Yes if they have flashback missions where each turtles ends would be great to go about it , but we will all have to face defeats in the end of each turtle that some people may not be able to stomach.

A film adaptation of the graphic novel was announced to be in development by Paramount Pictures in April 2024. The film, produced by Walter Hamada and written by Tyler Burton Smith, will receive an R-rating and be live action.
The Last Ronin comic was something else. If the developers can pull it off right, then this might just go down as the best TMNT game in the franchise.
I mean Nickelodeon is still in the credits so probably not? The tone will be more light heartened than it should be like with Marvel and Civil War because Disney.

I hope they put a type of introduction part at the beginning where they show what happened to the other turtles or you could play levels throughout the game as flashbacks calling back to their deaths.

Here in Brazil we'll have to wait until August 31 to watch Mutant Mayhem on the theaters. I don't know why the company decided to do that for places outside the United States.
Trust me this one well be alot different then that movie.
For example, theres literally a scene where i felt like the actors or writers were looking into the audience for member berries , Donny literally goes “Remember hulk? From avengers endgame? Yatta yatta Mark ruffalo” it was so cringe i literally said aloud “pleasee stoopp”

Last Ronin is not only one of the best TMNT comics, but is one of my favorite comic stories ever. This really does have awesome potential, hope the right people are handling this.
My favorite episode of the 2003 series was the one where Donatello got sent into the future and everything was post apocalyptic and the turtles had lost. That one always sticks with me and The Last Ronin was very similar to that but it was Michaelangelos time to shine. I can't wait to see how this game plays and feels.

Consumed by rage from a suprise attack by the foot clan leaving splinter on the brink of death, left to seek out the foot clan army taking out every single foot clan ninja after soon lost to karai due to fatal blow through the skull not before he left her in a coma.

Along side casey jones held of hordes of robots until all of them self destructed leaving the both of them to firey rubble.
Donatello
Him and splinter went to sign a peace treaty with the foot clan only to be yet again ambushed by them again soon losing both their lives being struck down by a barrage of arrows.
Michaelangelo
Being the last brother alive tried to live a life of solitude but chaos followed so he took on the role of the last ronin and sought out to take out the leader of the foot clan but he got desperate and used a suicide attack to kill them both after taking his final breaths he joined his siblings, master splinter, and casey jones in the after life
EPIC Teaser.. Whoever has read the comic book, nows what those candles and backgrounds mean. CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS ONE

I went back just recently read the comic and it’s outstanding this game needs to have just as much depth and darkness as the original comic did
Also if you feel like it, you should go back and watch the episode called *Same As It Never Was* , because The Last Ronin comic definitely took inspiration from that episode.

The way the background shows the environments and candles going out is an awesome nod to the comics. I won’t spoil it but each represents the characters in away.

out of all of the ones you think would have been the last survivor, it is the one that would truly suffer the most. the one that would have experienced the most change being the last of his family. the turtle that would be considered the living embodiment of joy whose spark was smothered by deep loss.

Please, take your time and do this right! I am so very excited for this game. Just the fact that it is confirmed to be real has made my week.
I didn't really grow up watching TMNT however im familiar with the last ronin comics because of YT Shorts. Seeing each individual candle blow out with a mild explanation without having said a single word, this is one of the best trailers i've seen in a long time. I might give this comic a full read now before i get this game

I love the fact that this game is taking the comic canon. I hope that the game starts like this and there's two ways :
1) We play as all four turtles in thier last moments before we find out who's the last ronin is.
2) The game starts after that and we walk around the city until a cutscene happens with the last ronin taking off his hood and there, we get a title card.

Hopefully a mix of GoW and GoT.
