I have great admiration for you opening such a rare & expensive bottle with us on camera to let us experience it along with you. My deepest thanks Horst, you've been a great guide for me personally on my journey
Up to the 200!!! Thanks for (virtually)sharing this exceptional whisky with us. And not placing it in a vault only for selling it later at a higher price. It shows you appreciate whisky as the way it should be! Respect
Always lovely to see you giving us exclusive reviews! After 5 years of storing a bottle i finally opened it with a few friends (and a dog?) :P Keep up the awesome videoes! Drunk typing with a glenmo Signet atm.
For such a once-in-a-lifetime whisky, I must say that Horst didn't seem very blown away by this legendary bottling. I know many people count this as their pinnacle/grail whisky (me included), so I guess I was just expecting a bit of a stronger reaction- I have seen him react more strongly to several much cheaper whiskies. I wonder how he'd react to the famous 1966 Bowmore Bouquet by Samaroli.
He didnt let it oxidize at all, old whiskies honestly truly need a lot of time in the glass. They go from nothing to unreal with time in the glass. Just tried a 40yr port askaig Bunnahabhain, let it sit for an hour nosing it along the way, it went from almost odorless to insanely fruity and aromatic in that time
Funning thing is, it would've felt like another day of work for that bloke LOL!! He would've had no idea he was filling up what would soon become a legendary bottling.
Thank you everybody
How does one afford to taste all these rare and expensive Riscky's or do they given from the distributor
@@edwinhoopes2753 ever heard of the concept of selling things? He owns an online Whisky Shop.

Tell me Horst, or anyone for that matter, did Bowmore put E150a in the Black Bowmore like they do with all of their other releases??

Is there a whisky bar anywhere in the world that serves this stuff? I would love to taste a dram.
Do you have 1000euros to spend? Then yes, a couple has these extremely exclusive whiskey's.
Wonderful video good information well done keep it up
Imagine working on one product somebody started 40 odd years ago there must be like 3 generations in that bottle
Funning thing is, it would've felt like another day of work for that bloke LOL!! He would've had no idea he was filling up what would soon become a legendary bottling.
Love your work!
das wäre ein Highlight den zu probieren.
why other old whiskies arent this black?
@Valdis4418 rewatched & still no answer
@Valdis4418 other oloroso cask matured whiskies from that year from other distilleries isnt that dark
One thing you didn't mention, the price. I'm really interested in how much such a bottle costs please?
There's a bottle on Amazon £19995!
14:36
Remember it's whiskey not mouthwash. Sloshing it in you're mouth isn't necessary to pick up the flavors..
he always says fruitiness
That one dram probably cost around 100 EUR.
drpapa26 closer to 750-1000$ a dram. Each bottle goes for 20K USD.
