This is I think just the rough "Proof of Concept" animation done during the kickstarter. The new one is closer to the final product now that Titmouse and Amazon are involved.
just remember this was a promo basically to get people to donate to the cause, over 2 million dollars went to the cause. Now you have a similar/exact artstlye to the castlevania series form netflix which works really well with what we are getting
What we got was looking more like the DCAMU movies, since the lead character designer for the show was Phil Bourassa who worked on the DC animated movies before.

TBF I'm looking forward to the Vietnam flashback of Keyleth snapping a child's neck. They've already gone all in to a sometimes weird extent with the violence, showing one of the sources of her insecurities would be interesting.
I'm kinda bummed they didn't make the Glabrazu demon fight in the show. Also, because of this animation, Uriel & his wife not being white cought me off guard 😂
i wonder, this was made back when amazon didn't step in yet, so they could animate a glabrezu without getting sued, so now that amazon are part of the process, how will they animate WotC monster designs without getting sued? i mean with the blue dragon they just took off its horn, but with monsters like a glabrezu for example, you cant just take off its crab hands and call it a "demon" since that would be too drastic of a change, wouldn't it? its one of the reasons im scared for the chroma conclave arc, since they might just copy paste a "default dragon" 3d model and color it differently and call it a day...
@@BlueSun_ but if you remove the hand and eye, then its not vecna anymore, and then the whole part with sword of kas is to be removed as well, and also arkhan stealing the hand, which was super significant for later events! plus its super weird that technically this whole thing happens in d&d canon, yet they cant use canon names and monsters!
I mean, they'll only get sued if they try to use the likenesses without the permission of the owner. With CR's popularity and Amazon's pocketbook, I don't see it as that far of a stretch to pay to use whatever designs that they deem vital for the story.
Doesn't the CR crew already have permission to use WotC IP in their regular weekly streams? If so would they not just be able to strike a similar deal for the show? Especially with Amazon backing them...
To me the twins looked like they were 2 different art styles and not 2 diff siblings. It looked distracting. I know lots of others mentioned this before but I'm real glad they changed art styles
Right? They're both great! Personally, I like the new one a bit more due to how badass they made him, but the original idea was pretty awesome in it's own right.
So, the old design is like....the 80s animated tv serries. Same with the fighting. Its good enough. Now they add overt-action from action anime. Make the character "sharper" and more anime-ish.
the objective was probably to have an artstyle that is more simple and easier to animate while at the same time it looks good, specially with the high speed battles the show gets into and yeah its inspired by anime, a lot of modern shows specially action shows get inspired by anime because anime has the best action animation in the world by a long shot

NOPE! While i guess it could technically be considered spoilers it isnt stuff that happened in the streamed campaign and the briarwoods arent shown here. They may or may not touch upon it in the show with brief mentions or even a sort of montage reel(what im hoping for) of the stuff pre-briarwood but the Briarwoods whole schtick should be relatively understood within the first couple episodes of the series if you havent watched the streamed campaign yet. I would of course still suggest getting into it, however its 400+ or so hours long so i understand trepidation.
Honestly I dig the new intro myself, although I loved grog in this trailer. Especially when he gets ready to fight then decides "fuck this ax I'm just gonna rip him apart with my bare hands!" Lol
Man if they spent the resources on making the graphics way better also on the story this show could of been amazing. Yes I’ve watched all of Cr C1.... they cut...... so much fucking story and character development and overall background of many characters. Also they owned the guard who imprisoned them at the keep, yet in the show they all work for the king? No spy master contact? Fuck it’s disgusting how bad this is
Fired for a multitude of reasons: cheating at the table, picking fights with fans on social media, forcing himself into everyone else's moments to have it focus on him and steal their thunder (using telekinesis to guide Vex's arrow into a target she had already rolled a 35 on and hit, trying to copy Percy's idea for an Archimedes' Death Ray when it was revealed they'd be going up against vampires, etc), constantly metagaming and snapping and arguing with Matt and the other players as Orion, not as Tiberius, and more.
Omg i absolutely hate that about the art style! For a show like CR that are usually so good with LGBT stuff i was confused about why it seemed to be such a central distinguishing feature. Like Pikes lips especially are distracting to me. And once i noticed it was every female i was like.... Why? Gilmore and king Uriel are male characters i can think of with defined lips, but it somehow seems more natural. Then again, both those characters are poc and idk if the animation department thought it was super important to communicate that white men specifically have no lips? 😂 Lol idk, but the fact that I'm thinking this much about it just proves its distracting 😂
@@Ghost-Mom the guy that worked on the recent DC cartoons? his works are usually better than what we got though in LoVM. Girls that have the lips drawn have proper volume/detail of the lips, as well as other girls not needing to draw the lips (like Raven). In LoVM, all the girls have lips drawn, but there isn't any detail for most characters, making it look puffy.
@@TheZero248 yes, before Stream. It was mentioned somewhere but I can't remember where. I remember the cast narrating there adventure thus far and how they made a deal with the Demon for a wish which they then used to get themselves out of the contract they signed with the Demon.
I get why they scrubbed all dragonborn references, but part of me wishes they all made peace. Not to bring him back as I get the past leaves scars. At the same time he seems to have truly worked hard to get better. Having his story be included would seem a fitting tribute to healing and peace.

Sadly, I think the new design for Percy doesn't do him justice. Here he looked perfect, but I feel like they really downgraded his appearance in the final product
Kinda disappointed we are getting a retread of campaign 1 rather than what this intro promised - the show is still great but I would have loved to see the origin of the Vox over the Whitestone/ Chroma Conclave arch
I'm sure that would be interesting, but at the same time maybe not as good from a pure entertainment perspective, since low level characters have far fewer spells and abilities. Remember, when they started the streaming, the party were already at level 9.
I think they made a compromise and covered the stuff we didn't see in Campaing 1 in the books and comics, of course they still cut a lot of Campaign 1, since they probably had issues with copywright since the first arc in the Underdark would be a legal/re-write nightmare since almost everything they encounter is very much a D&D property
We got what was promised, an adventure from the pre-stream days. They then expanded on after that to cover the Briarwood arc. We were only supposed to get a single 22 minute episode, not a full season. That's all this promised, nothing more.

i the contrary, i want more western studios to use a more anima inspired designs and animations, obviously not for every show but if you are doign an action oriented series anime is the way forward some of the best modern animation specially in battles come from anime and vox machina has some sick fights

@@slimegod9693 Except you are. They more than succeeded and delivered the exact show they promised. Only difference is they focused on a different arc than the one shown here since it ties into the Conclave arc rather than just being one and done.

They promised new material as the animated show and the Briarwood arc was an unlocked goal of the kickstarter, instead we got horribly paced backstory episode then Briarwood as the whole first season moving into the conclave. They broke their promise. None of that touches on occasionally awful character design, horrid writing, inconsistent tone and pacing, awful execution of "show don't tell." The animation of the choreography say is very beautifully done, but it's so overshadowed by the awful other 80 percent of the show

i dont like some of the changes to various characters they made but the general animation and stuff i like.
i think the art style and character designs in this intro are horrendous, so no, I'm much more happier with what we got.
