    Yes, accurate about rent prices. I lived pretty downtown (20 min walk to St Stephan's cathedral) and paid eur 1200 a month all included for 55m2.

    I used to live in the 4th district close to Belvedere and Hauptbahnhof and my rent was 650 for a two bedroom flat, it was an Altbau but location was amazing. I really miss living there.

    Healthcare in Austria is not free. It's a big chunk taken out of your salary if you are employed in a full time job. A part time worker or a self employed individual has to pay for their own health insurance.

    • @TomaszJakubKusienicki
      @TomaszJakubKusienicki  Год назад +1

      Oh yes, of course. I am assuming that people understand that considering that taxes and social contributions can take half of your salary. :) What I meant is that you do not have to worry about this beyond that.

    Hi Tomasz! Great videos : )
    May I ask you what would you consider as a "good" salary to live in Vienna? I know that "good" is relative to many variants and lifestyle, but considering the basic for a couple (both working), are you able to say a minimum to have a comfortable life? Many thanks!

    • @TomaszJakubKusienicki
      @TomaszJakubKusienicki  Год назад +7

      Hi, thank you!
      This is a question impossible to answer, this will totally depends on your needs and lifestyle. To give you an example, I spend at least 5-6k a year on having a car, maybe even more, so almost 500 euro/month. This includes insurance, taxes, fuel, maintaince, a spot in a garage and so on. At the same time public transport costs 365 euro per adult per year and kids under 6 six ride for free. So even with this simple example the range is already huge, from few hounders a year to thousends.
      But I do not want to leave you with nothing. I think avg. salary in Vienna is about 55k gross so what I can advice is to check out a tax calculator - finanzrechner.at/en/ - there u can see that with 55k gross you would get around 2600 euro/month net plus 2x 3k of 13th and 14th salary that you can spend on vacation or savings. Make it double for a couple and it is 5200 euro/month net (ignoring those bonus salaries). Let's say you want to spend 30% of that on a rent, so around 1500-1600. I think you should be able to find something comfortable for such money and still have 70% of your salary for other things.
      I might be in the bubble but I think 55k is avg, 70k+ is a good salary, 90+ is a doctor level salary.
      Good luck, I hope this is helpful. :)

    Tomasz! dzięki za przydatny film! Which districts shall I consider to rent my first flat (avg 2 rooms ~50-70 m2) and have a smooth public transportation to Schwechat in 30-40 mins? Are Favoriten and Simmering really a dangerous place to live? or it is just a bad rumour from internet?

    • @TomaszJakubKusienicki
      @TomaszJakubKusienicki  Год назад

      Hi, this is a good and not easy to answer question.
      It is true that districts 10th and 11th have a bad reputation, but it hard to tell how much truth is in that. I have a friend who lives there and he really like it as it is less expensive than the rest of the city, has a lot of parks and open spaces.
      I do not have any information about dangerous places, but if you would like to consider other things, I know there is a really strong Turkish community around Quellenstrasse and Reumanplatz and it might be harder to integrate there if you are not familiar with that culture.
      But getting back to your question, you can easly get to Schwechat from Wien Mitte so as long as you can get there easly you should have a good commute. I would suggest to start looking in districts 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
      I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

    Yep can pretty much confirm what you said…
    Taxes are quite high in Austria
    Many things are included but if you want better service like a specific doctor you can go to a private one. What must be said is that you can fill in the invoice and you get like always something back
    Austria is quite a nice place to live but the state is also quite inefficient with its money which upsets many Austrians
    Hope that changes soon but Austria is a complicated place 😂
    Still love it 🥰

      @@יוסיד-צ7ע Hmm i don't know know anything about job markets for other professions, sorry.
      I think people are quite friendly, but it depends on many factors including your expectations. I have moved from Poland where people don't interact with strangers a lot, so for me people here are more welcoming, but this is very subjective.
      I feel here very good, but I am also awere that I don't look really diffrent than a typical austrian, so it is hard for me to tell, how people from other parts of the world are recieved.
