I enjoy your off trail videos as well! You are quite the entertainer lol. New cooking/baking vlog? Cooking/baking with Roadrunner? Glad you are spending some nice quality time with your mom! 😊
I am enjoying following your after hiking videos. You are so real, staying with what is comfortable to you and not trying to be anything but who you are. Keep the videos coming.
0:32 In the Pacific Northwest we would call that a perfect day for a hike. Look it's beautiful clear day. You can see the mountains,. You can see the fall colors. What more could you ask for. 😎
Dee Drummond, the Pioneer Woman better make room for the Juliann the Hiking Chef!😂 It’s good to know can apply domestic skills in a real kitchen not over a propane flame in the tent on the trail. What you wear is comfortable for you, and you are not trying to impress anyone with fanciness or name brands ant that’s all fine. Besides the fact women’s clothing is very expensive compared to men. Your Clothes are clean, hair is nice and you applied a little bit of makeup so it’s your look. You being transparent about life is one of the best things about following you.
I loved this video! I once had a thick crock pot lid shatter on me when I took it out of the dishwasher and placed it on the counter on top of a marble cutting board. Now I let the dishes cool before emptying the dishwasher.
Thank you for sharing. I watched your entire series. I’m craving that hike. On another note, just a reminder, we’re boycotting Starbucks. Every drink bought puts more money into the genocide in Palestine.
Roadrunner! You make me laugh! I’ve sent your video to a friend of mine (not a hiker) who was raised in Germany and still has family there. She’s never made this for us and I asked if she had ever had or made it. Her family sends her the best chocolates and sweets every Christmas the week all partake in. I’d love to go to Germany! Happy Cooking!
FarOut is definitely helpful for shuttle drivers. Coincidentally, the last time I used a shuttle service for the AT, the guy had to drop me off at County Road. He knew the area but FarOut said that people shouldn't approach the trailhead from the west and it had GPS coordinates as well. Pretty useful.
Good morning, Juliane. Loved your cooking video. Cooking does take a lot of patience. The video did make me curious about how the dessert tastes. It looked good. I think you should have given us all a taste. I bet your mom is a great cook, especially of German dishes. Take care. Stay safe. See you next video.
mother are so sweetttttttttttttttt hikingdancer you be yourself gorgeous ladys friend ... hope you have a bless and gorgeous week ,, weekend ..my friend
My grandmother made the best raisin bread, fresh churned butter and homemade strawberry jam when I was a kid. She was German, and she and my mom would slip into "old country" language when us kids weren't supposed to hear. When you try making apple pie, and I'm making a big assumption there,....
This learning to cook while off trail is interesting...I'm going to have to try that flavor of Jelly for The Boy, one of his favorite treats growing up in Ireland was Jelly and Ice Cream, aka Jello. What are your feelings on Sauerkraut? I can hook you up there!
PCT question. Do any of you thru hikers keep track of total miles hiked, including walking into town for re supply, walking to do laundry or restaurants etc etc? Trail is 2,650 miles but I'm guessing you're actually walking over 3,000 miles total. Thanks "Goliath"
Your mother has the same accent as my grandma. My grandma was born in the US, in the 1880s, in the "Little Germany" neighborhood of NYC. She was more comfortable with speaking German than English. I learned to cook as a teen. It was taught in school in those days, plus Boy Scouts, and my Mom was the best cook in our neighborhood(the other Moms were so jealous). Mom rarely followed recipes carefully and modified to taste. She taught me to go by my instincts and improvise. I'm color blind so, I can't be trusted with cooking but, I'm good baking. Because I grew too many zucchinis this year, I've been making zucchini bread often(4 loaves yesterday). It seems to me that the fall colors are late this year. Nice video. Good Luck, Rick
It is delightful the way you share your life. May God continue to move you to bless others while strengthening your faith in the process. It is not how good or bad we are that God cares about. “ And Noah believed God, and unto him it was accounted as righteousness”. Thank you for the blessing that you are.
My cousin’s grandfather thought soup was called that’ll do. He was immigrating from Germany and at Ellis Island. When soup was served, other people would say that’ll do.
😂😂😂 omg now I really need the roadrunner cooking series! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love you keeping your channel going while off trail😎
I hope so
@@hikingdancerI do too

This is a fun video. Really liked watching you on your cooking journey.
Haha! Cooking 101. Too funny!!

Loved this video! Especially your sweet Mum trying to teach you to cook! 😂❤
lol yes
It is fun seeing you off trail in a domestic environment. I will keep watching. I am interested what is ahead for you.
If laughter is the best medicine, you are a great doctor!
It's like Jello! And yes, the sugar content helps it set-up (jell).
Mhhhh 🤔
Yes! The fruit pectin used for sugar free or lower sugar recipes is different. It comes in a pink box. I have used it personally.
my new favorite channel. i've been binge watching the last few days.
Keep the videos coming! Love your channel, and all your humor!
i always hit the like button first then watch the videos...
Your mother has the loveliest speaking voice. It reminds me very much of a lovely German family friend growing up in NH.

Just like American jello which we would put in the refrigerator and it would jell even more...
RUclips has great instructional cooking videos, too! Im in my 60s and have really improved watching and trying new recipes and techniques.
Do I see a “cooking with Roadrunner “ coming? This is hysterical!
I just made US Jello last night. Similar method, except the sugar is in the mix. Then I put it in jars and in the fridge to set up.
Your mom is cool and yeah that looks like Vermont.
Thank you for sharing. I watched your entire series. I’m craving that hike.

I agree about boycotting Starbucks.

lol .. that metal whisk on a Teflon pan... you know they are going to give ya hell for that one .. 😊
lol yes it already started. I’m confused though. What would you use instead. Serious inquiry
@@hikingdancer they make plastic/rubber utensils for that reason 🙂
@@hikingdancer. We use rubber spatulas and plastic coated whisks.
Ha! That crossed my mind, too. But no one likes a critic. I ditched all the Teflon and now only use cast iron or stainless steel.
mother are so sweetttttttttttttttt hikingdancer you be yourself gorgeous ladys friend ... hope you have a bless and gorgeous week ,, weekend ..my friend
LOL. Keepin Watchin
Just chilling in the chair
The cooking segment was hilarious and I can relate😆
I’m so out of my element
We don’t have that woodruff flavor, but looks just like Jello.
That pup,is sooooo pretty
She is cute
@@hikingdancer now I want to try woodruff, it’s described as vanilla cinnamon and cardamom. Sounds delightful

I’m not a desert person but will say the Germans make some incredible pastries and other desserts. They’re also very pleasing to look at
The Germans or the desert? 😉
Sometimes reducing the sugar affects how things gel
Interesting 🤔
Rather than whisk I would enjoy same whisky 🥃😂. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Good day to you

... Following Mom like a little duck ...lol ..
This is Dancer's wifey audition tape. 9/10 would recommend. 😅
I am bad wifey material, clearly
Woodruff is mostly native to Europe - it only grows in the U.S. where it's been introduced, so far as I can tell.
Post hiking I need to take more showers😂 I don’t shower as often anymore😅
Thanks 🙏
Waldmeister-Wackelpudding von Dr. Oetker... lecker lecker 😋😍
Would What 3 words app work for giving pickup location? it might be a good app to add to hiking community. 🤷
I make pfeffernüsse at Christmas, should I send you some? :D

5 centimeters!
You could have the hikers text their location to you with google maps or imaps if they have iphones. No need for farout.
Yay, kuchen!
Woot woot
My goal for today is to just let things be as I cringe while she scratches up the non stick surface with a metal whisk
lol. I’m very bad at this “cooking” thing
Yup. Just throw away the nonstick pan. Seriously. Bad bad bad stuff.
Never heard of woodruff
Perhaps you should have been listening to "Straight to Memphis" while whisking!!
Title for video random gravel road lol

Don’t know if you sold very many people on wanting that recipe.
Did the hikers you shuttled recognize you from YT?
Nooooooo
