I thing that "PTSD" is something that Hemlock did to Crosshair. • @calebpace8788
    @calebpace8788 6 месяцев назад +14

    Clones were designed to not get PTSD, now nerve damage on the other hand, from nerve gas to spinal injury to nerve gas, would easily cause issues when you're used to not having to account for that variable. The bad batch hasn't been that careful about avoiding protecting their heads beyond wearing a helmet, add in a slim frame and there isnt enough muscle mass to counteract and mitigate it.
    Best crosshair can do with what they have available is honestly pretty basic stuff that often gets overlooked. Farmer carrying equipment to build up his forearms and grip strength as well as push ups. By working out he will naturally add the weight needed to manage the tremors better. Not perfect, but better. Add in a weighted gloves and a bipod for his rifle and it shouldnt be an issue anymore. There are many tricks to dealing with the issue assuming that it isnt something major and life altering/ending like holes developing in his brain or a misfiring spinal cord.

  • @GGBlaster

    Wait guys the Bad Batch now has the perfect ace up their sleeve. Now that Crosshair’s target accuracy has fallen well below his average, have him return to the empire to do marksmanship training with the stormtrooper program. That way, maybe years later, there’ll be some reckless rebel heroes charging into rooms full of these soldiers who’ll need to miraculously avoid every shot

  • @kirkbolas4985
    @kirkbolas4985 6 месяцев назад +54

    Allen, I’m a pharmacist by profession (32 years in practice now). That Crosshair’s tremor in unilateral and affecting his dominant hand can be telling. Still, there’s too much missing information to do a proper differential diagnosis.
    He’s still relatively young, so the kinds of illnesses that come with more advanced age are unlikely.
    I’d wager that his tremor is likely due to his being a “unique” clone and a secondary neurological defect from the genetic manipulation that makes Crosshair who he is or some sort or organic, neurobiological trauma from the various and sundry sources you’d mentioned, e.g., concussions, ionizing radiation, chemical agent assaults, et. al.
    These factors are also the causes for this sort of thing that occurs in our world. I’ve seen this very sort of thing in my patients who are ex-military and served in the various conflicts like Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iran and Afghanistan.

    • @theevildrummingsithlord1492
      @theevildrummingsithlord1492 6 месяцев назад +9

      I think the other major source for the trauma is also the "re-education" happening in the clone facility. I noticed that Crosshair wasn't the only person feeling so...distressed...when he was brought back to his cell. Whatever is happening - it's bound to be horrifying (maybe it's what we saw in season 1 or 2 with the chip amplification).

    I think his hand tremors were caused by the torture he endured for the months he was at Tantiss. Thinking about it, he wasn't experiencing that when he killed the officer back in S2, or at any point before. As for Hemlock saying he had other uses, that was probably a reference to his genetic "defect" that enhanced his eyesight to well beyond normal limits. If Hemlock could replicate that, a ton of sharpshooters would greatly improve the Imps Army

A price, if you will, for his decisions. The bad - and the good. It wouldn’t be very nice, but it would be meaningful, realistic, and indicate further the lasting consequences of the choices a person makes, no matter if those choices are right or wrong.

    Crosshair’s Hand tremors could have mixed causes, mainly probably being PTSD from experiencing war, all the dodgy stuff he did for the empire before he fragged Nolan after he refused Crosshair’s plea to save Mayday,, the traumatic events of the Outpost episode & being most likely tortured and experimented on by Dr Hemlock in Mount Tantis,in addition it could also be nerve damage from Hemlock’s nerve toxin gas. I slightly doubt facial burn injuries from the venator engine caused or directly caused his hand tremors because his marksmanship skills were still top notch, until after the events of The Outpost & Tantis. Like I’m no doctor or anything but I think the main cause of Crosshair’s Hand tremors are from something obviously more recent, such as PTSD from his experiences during The Outpost & Tantis and potential nerve damage from being exposed to Dr Hemlock’s nerve toxin gas.

The mental trauma is the main part of this in my opinion. See, trauma affects people differently and I think we’d find Crosshair to be hiding the fact he’s having some severe flashbacks while he seems “calm” often when victims of PTSD try to go about day to day life again they hide their flashbacks so to not “disturb” others, even though they should seek help for their trauma,

    I remember a book of boba fett was old and looking for clients to help his genetic degradation, since these guys age faster it may just be that specially if crosshairs could be an older bad batch than the other members considering he does look like he could be all those fathers from his mouth wrinkles

    my prediction: Crosshair's shaky hand is going to cause him to miss a vital shot resulting in killing one of the Bad Batch or someone impactful for an emotionally tragic moment. we'll see.

    I find it even more impressive that Crosshair was completely steady while shooting without a rest. I can’t hit that accurately at 100 yards with a rest.

    I highly doubt it is parkinsons because the kaminoan surely would have removed that ailnes since it is if i am not mistaken a heredetery desease even if it is not, my point about the kaminoans is still vallid concidering how much of perfectionist they are and having their 'product' have any kind of deffect would affect their income and reputation.

    The fact that it's only in his shooting hand... Makes me lean towards PTSD.

    I think that Crosshair watching the bird of prey fly towards the mountain was a very direct metaphor. Crosshair, the bird of prey, will end up going to Tantus himself somehow and freeing the clones. He will heroically sacrifice himself for the group. Very sad, as he has just become such a loveable character.

    • @DugLest
      @DugLest 6 месяцев назад +3

      Oh shoot, unless that bird of prey is Hunter. Heck, maybe it symbolized all of the Batch, and Crosshair somehow keeps Omega aside.

    I'd say Crosshair's issue could also be similar to the principle of a caged animal
    It's a principle of how an animal -- such as a lion/tiger -- captured in the wild goes from their wild tendencies do almost catatonic state from the captivity

    • @CryptidRenfri
      @CryptidRenfri 6 месяцев назад

      Going from one traumatic experience to another and then suddenly being isolated and locked up with only your own thoughts and memories running on loop can really jumpstart PTSD too, and cause massive amounts of anxiety and make a person seem suddenly either very catatonic or neurotic.
      I personally think it's mostly PTSD and related psychological trauma/issues.
      Others here have said that the clones were genetically altered to reduce the chances of developing negative mental states like that, but reduce doesn't mean eliminate. Anyone can be pushed past their personal breaking point. Absolutely anyone.

    • @CryptidRenfri
      @CryptidRenfri 6 месяцев назад +1

      Bur I also agree with your point. There are many examples of forced captivity having a very real and detrimental impact on the mental and physical condition of an animal or person.
      Being in a cage long term isn't any living creatures natural state. There will always be an effect.

    Most likely the gas he was exposed to in Season 2, or, the part of season 2 when he was surviving in the cold, he could've easily suffered from nerve damage from being in the cold so long. I don't think it's PTSD as clones are designed to not get PTSD, and the Bad Batch are even more "specilized" than a normal clone

    What’s more important is the show of what war and abuse does to a veteran as he’s then discarded as a political strawman
    Also Hemlock being kind of a Klingon promotion is accurate. A regime like the Nazi Party as it rose is the textbook example of sadistic (or masochistic) janitor nobody magazine subscribers being given generous positions and benefits as a reward for his undying loyalty upon their assumption of power. Josef Mengele’s division etc. the Nazi example is a lot more useful to show this than pre-existing states where you’re really just pulling from the same melodramatic indoctrinated party loyalist crowd.
