I just love you two. I feel like we are old friends. Thank you for taking us along on your sweet potato harvest. May God continue to bless you and keep you.
Have these grown the same amount of time that you would grow them outside in the field? I am asking because the size of the potatoes that you are harvesting. There was that one really big potato at the beginning of your harvest. If so could it be the lack of direct sunshine. I wonder if you need to grow the high tunnel potatoes longer before harvesting and would give you bigger potatoes? Love it that you can grow them in the high tunnel. Wow!!
DANNY MY SWEET POTATOES IN MY HOMEMADE GREENHOUSE IS DOING WONDERFUL I JUST FOLLOWED YOUR BOOK AND BOY ARE THEY GROWING THEY SHOULD BE READY BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THEY DO THANK YOU MS WANDA YOURS ARE AMAZING THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS ❤
Youguys have no idea how encouraging your videos are to me. I was sure hoping to see a Pecan Grove video this morning. Thank you so much. And the sweet potato videos are a favorite of mine. Congratulations on the harvest.
Good morning Danny and Wanda. That’s a nice harvest they are beautiful. I love watching your videos they are so interesting and I learned a lot from y’all. Take care 😊
I had never grown sweet potatoes until I saw your videos. Grew them for the first time last year and doubled the space for them this year. Thank you so much for teaching all of us how to do so many things.
I grew sweet potatoes in my little greenhouse raised bed last year. This year I am constantly pulling draws, they keep popping up, but I have other things growing in there this year and don't need (or want) the sweet potatoes. We grew Beauregard and they just keep coming whether you want them to or not. Shalom yall, and I hope you get some rain.
WOW, that was so much fun I had to stop the video & run out to the garden & pull one of mine. 🤣 I got some for the bunnies & a couple meals of fries for me. Good to know they can do great in a high tunnel.
We've grown sweet potatoes in raised beds in our high tunnel in Ohio the past 3 years. It's been very successful. I put them in the center 4' wide bed (by 40' long) that has a trellis down the middle. I plant lima beans on the trellis and sweet potatoes on both sides of the trellis. The sweet potatoes don't climb the trellis but they completely cover the bed, keeping the soil cooler and shaded and the limas grow straight up the trellis. They work great together and I get two crops in the space.
Good Morning Mr. Danny and Ms. Wanda. Some nice looking sweet potato's Ms. Wanda. Doing the same and heading out the greenhouse at night as it is too hot to be in there during the day. Getin to be 120 degrees in there. Dewpoint yesterday was 80 degrees unbearable to be outside to long. Getting ready to start digging some of our sweeet potato's hopefully look as good as yours. Have a blessed day.
Danny and Wanda I grew sweet potatoes for the first time this year. Didn’t get a lot of potatoes but they were good Thom loved them I dig them to soon they were to small for y’all but they were delicious. Wanda like the way you care for your plants. Love you both.
I feel for you both...I enjoy every video and your both an inspiration to many...I look forward to Tuesdays and Porch Time- never stop sharing what God lays on your heart, hugs to you both
Sweet potatoes are like candy ! In Minnesota growing up we only ate them during the holidays, I aways looked forward to them but after visiting the South it was a game changer seeing folks really enjoying them. And there so good for you!
We have heat here in Missouri in 90’s and heat index 107 so we feel your pain. 🙏🙏 Heat and humidity has been rough. Sweet potatoes look good. Congratulations!
Congrats, this inspires me try this in my green tunnel. Testing which ones grow more prolific here in DFW. So far vine wise the muraski's are just crazy
I’ve grown them in syrup tubs before… I have sum growing in syrup tubs now .. I plant them everywhere.. I do the same thing with onions …everywhere that there is a spare piece of dirt
Good morning! Wanda, what a joy it is to hear how excited you are about the taters. ❤ I planted some for the first time this year and I'm still waiting to harvest. I hope to have as much success as y'all. Much love, many blessings.
Congratulations on the sweet potatoes. Heat advisory 108-110 in East Central Florida. The weeds are getting out of control. I am monitoring the storm on the weatherman plus. Thanks for sharing 🙏 😎 🏝 🏖
This year my sweet potatos look VERY promising. Too often they are often still small when the weather cools off but this year the potatos are blooming when it was still July, and so the potatos will have all of August and September to get some size on them
I live in Georgia and the humidity is so bad! My husband drove my car to work cause he is waiting on a part for his truck. Got in the truck yesterday and it was starting to mold on the interior. That's how hot and humid it is. Good job on the sweet potatoes!
Mr Danny and Mrs Wanda, Hello! I v'e been following and using these ideas, as best I can, this year I have connected a rainwater barrel. and the food is growing in the ground and on top of it. Thanks for all the stuff you show us.
Y'all are making me want to go check mine.. but I know it's too early. Mine won't be ready 'til almost October. More plant weirdness to share: one of my pecan trees that had nuts last year.. has nuts this year too. Aren't they supposed to be on a 2 year production cycle? You're so blessed to still be able to be on your knees. I hurt mine when I was in my 20s and then again in my 40s and got arthritis in them.. it hurts to kneel.
I grew sweet potatos in straw bales this year. Im in Southern Mo so they are not ready yet but bit they look good. I've felt down in the bale and they are very nice size
Adding screen doors to those high tunnels will allow you to open the doors without the bug issue. You may not want to do it with your deep south high tunnels, since you plan on moving, but you could do it for the ones at pecan grove.
Oh yeah! Chamber bitters TOOK OVER my cantaloupe bed and are trying to take over my tomatoes. I work during the day so I can’t do any gardening until very late in the evening so I’m having trouble keeping up with them because it rains every afternoon into the evening.
I just love you two. I feel like we are old friends. Thank you for taking us along on your sweet potato harvest. May God continue to bless you and keep you.
