The only thing that I would say about politics as an expat in the Philippines is do your research on who is running in the elections and vote for the person that you think will be the best person to do the job. I don't even want to tell another American who to vote for and I would just tell them the same exact thing even if they were voting the complete opposite of me. I enjoy the Philippines more because it's better for my health and more relaxing without all the headaches that I get here in the US. Sure not everything is the way that I would like it to be in the Philippines but it's just an easier way of life for me. There are more things here in the US that I wish were different but regardless where I am I do my best to stay out of trouble by obeying the laws. As an expat if I don't like it in the Philippines I'm free to leave but I want to stay when I retire in the Philippines.
I stopped caring about politics when I realized all it is is different groups of rich people trying to control a country. Has no effect on regular people at all because both sides only goal is to grab money from the nation's resources.
the other thing that probably caused lower BP in most expats here is the food that they eat. in the US, it's mostly microwaveable, instant fand fast ood that are full of seasonings, preservatives and sodium. here they most likely eat fresh and home cooked meals more often compared to when they were still in the US.
I m very conscious of what I eat here in Manhattan. No carbs, less sodium, removing the fats by steaming or boiling the meat. No processed food, soda, sugar, chocolates More salad, veggies, no rice, no bbq. I watch what I eat here in the States. Blood test everything normal I do light running inside my condo bldg, around 80 push ups daily, light weights around 20 lbs n maintain my weight God bless!!! Shoutout fr Wall Street, Manhattan, New York City!!!
As enticing as it is to move abroad imma stick to my home country because at the end of the day Philippines is still a third world country and despite BGC being a bubble I won’t have the same benefits i do in Canada so imma do everything in my power to afford a high quality of life and enjoy the benefits of TO. Also if we keep relocating like this then all places are gonna suck eventually. IK Canada sucks RN cause if Trudeau but it’s only a matter of time before he is gone and Canada will thrive again
Each country has their own pros n cons Pinas cons are graft n corruption, traffic, safety, medical/health insurance/super high cost for major medical/health issues, floods etc

Hope they didn’t bring their left woke Biden politics with them. Destroyed that state. Leave it there.

Not if you have comprehensive Global Health insurance. It's cheap, only US$2,500 a year based on what my retired friends pay living in Thailand
