Some of these creatures need a remake like the eel And certainly the mosasaurus.

@@ricktran4184 The leech could have a remake where it becomes a shoulder pet and you can throw it at the dinosaurs to get bags of blood. The way to tame it could be the same as the bloodstalker.

if they change lioprodon to a permanent tame but only with once a day (24 real hours) buff... it will be a must have tame

They did the liopleurodon dirty, even the model doesn't look as good as it did in the dossier. I really wish they would have just made the liopleurodon a normal creature that has a rare variant, hell I would have even preferred if the loot buff never existed and instead we could just have the liopleurodon
If I’m not wrong the xifac thing also has a pack bonus, bleed, and can one shot smaller creatures if they’re lower health, I know it’s your opinion but I’d say it’s a little better than the megalodon.
It's not really a bleed effect tho, the damage the "bleed" does is affected by armor, megalodon is still better
I’m playing ark for the first time and I saw a plesiosaurus, mosasaurus, giant eel, basilosaurus(I tamed one:]), dunkleosteus, and lioplueradon, all for the first time today. Love this game.
In my playthrough the bassi saved me multiple times man! Cleared out the easy and hard underwater cave, farmed underwater tributes, and its pretty easy to tame
Dunky’s are always slept on because people want to think of it as a battle tank instead of a water excavator. Go into the Cunning Artifact Cave after clearing it of enemies and enjoy a large amount of metal and stone. I prefer building underwater bases so the Dunky is a necessity to getting materials, especially uncontested materials in a PvE server where everyone else is monopolizing the popular node spawns.
i'm sorry, i'm new, what's an underwater base and how do you build that?
@@sifamon3876 It’s cool. So an underwater base is pretty much an end game sort of thing. You have to unlock the moonpool/vacuum compartment from the alpha Dragon to start it all. With this and some element grinding, you can create these large boxes that work underwater and create a space where you can breathe, walk, and build like you’re on land.
For me, I try to unlock this as fast as possible so I can move to a permanent location underwater in the ocean. This helps with keeping people away because no one really likes going into the water, it’s considered dangerous without a lot of effort so you now have a natural barrier from intruders and it’s just peaceful and I like the view from underwater. ASA expanded on the vacuum compartment and what it can do now, so base building is much more intuitive and rewarding, and I always try to get to a spot where I can farm freely with my Dunky. The oceans do give a lot more resources than people often think.
I just wish it could gather more on the island, you can find a few metal spots but it's mostly relegated to stone and oil. According to the wiki it is extremely good at gathering crystal, but I can't even think of any unofficial map locations besides ragnarok where you can actually use a dunky to gather crystal
@@thomasdevlin5825 If I remember correctly you could gather crystal underwater in CI and the Center as well. With how they're reshaping and remaking some maps, you could take the Dunky into places and try something new as new maps are dropped. For example, take SE as it is now. Thanks to you, I just remembered that there's that new underwater cave with a ton of crystals lining it that leads to that underground grotto. I think I'll go bring my Dunky over from the Island and see if it fits well enough to farm from the water tunnels and collect crystals. As far as great farming goes though, I usually stick to the Cunning Cave as, overall, it provides me with everything needed for late game materials. Black pearls, metal, stone, chitin (which can be then turned to cementing paste) and a few other odds and ends materials like oil can be farmed from that cave without having to get out of the water. I do believe that there are a couple of crystal deposits in the unflooded spots of that cave, but don't quote me on that as I only got out of the water in there only to grab the explorer notes that exist on the land.
The reason the electrophorus is so awful is because it straight up does not do what the dossier says it's supposed to do. It was designed to knock out large ocean creatures, which would actually be amazing, but it's only ability is essentially non functional. Its BITE, not the electricity attack that it uses as its primary attack, deals a small amount of torpor, so anything you use it on is pretty much guaranteed to kill them before it gets knocked out, rendering it one of those wild hazard creatures that happens to be tamable like the onyc and the araneo

I would personally put Megalodon at top 3, only beaten by Basilosaurus and Tusoteuthis

Lioplearudon were hellishly common on center and rag, I could find one every single time I went into the sea. However without a tribe to utilize it, its not super efficient.
And the diplocaulus is an amazing first water tame. If you find one in a safe spot, they are great for scouting the ocean. Much better than dolphin. Level oxy for longer breath time.

Diplo is only useful early game when going underwater before scuba. Its broken when trying to claim uw caves early into wipes.
A dunkly on fjordur is freaking broken for resource gathering since there is so much metal down there

The fact that the devs put the eel into scorched earth out of anything else pisses me off, I would have rather they add the jellyfish at least than you would have another way to get biotoxin other than hunting deathworks

on an expert rider, Plesios easily move up to #2. Third highest DPS ingame behind Giga and Carch. Fastest dino (land, sea, air) ingame. Wins a race against a pteranodon from red obelisk to carno Island
shastasaurus could be a contender to take the basilos spot when it releases
It's probably gonna be a tank or travel mount...or probably mostly depends on its saddle features like that space whale from gen or gen2 idk

The eel needs a tlc, the ones In game now would get a pack buff, spawn in shallows, be neutral and a larger, rideable aggressive one found in the deep
I would put dunkly below meg cause it's too slow and the KO tame is surprisingly tough and also there aren't much resources filled nodes in ocean, u just have to scavenge from the rocks most of the time...and I'd put Xiphac above meg cause its better! Idk why u didn't mention the rest of it's abilities, people literally doing dragon brood boss with these💀

are they called eel in asc? we had some in our breeding area under water in the cave so if for some reason somebody was so far in the base they got stunned and killed...
I'd say, 1. Megalodon, fast and strong mounts with a bleed attack, easy to find, easy to tame and a pack of Megalodons is by far the best way to take down big alpha creatures 2. Dunkleosteus, very strong mount for combat, easy to find, easy (but expensive) to tame but their main use is harvesting resources and it's by far the best at doing so, better than Doed at getting stone, literally just the best way to get oil, can also get you insane amounts of metal from river rocks and on future maps like fjordur they're the best source of metal in the game with underwater metal nodes and compared to the Anky and Doed they're way better at transporting those resources with more speed and weight aswell as defending itself since it's just a stronger Megalodon (without the bleed and pack bonus) but with armor instead 3. Basilo, among the strongest water creatures, fast, increased regeneration and immune to all the grabs/stuns, their only downsides once u have them are their bad ai and damage in deep water but their main issue is their rarity and how annoying it is to tame them 4. Angler, easy to find, easy and cheap to tame, actually good mounts since they're significantly stronger than the Ichthy but still faster and more agile than something like a Megalodon but their main use, getting a bunch of silica pearls is very important because getting silica pearls in bulk for blueprints is very hard on the island 5. Xiph, fast, strong, fairly easy to find, easy to tame, bleed, pack bonus, one shot ability and their ability to rapidly regen health and stamina after using the right click attack on something, they are good enough to be higher but there's almost no reason to get them since the Megalodon is basically the same but way easier to get and stronger 6. Tuso, strongest underwater creature currently in the game, fast, grab attack, immune to jellyfish dismount and other Tuso's grab, their main downsides are that they're hard to find and tame, they have a bad ai and very annoying controls with it having to turn around to move/fight 7. Plesiosaur, I think the Plesio is better than the Mosa since it's faster, more agile and has a better platform saddle and if u want the Mosa's combat ability it's better to just get the Tuso anyway or stick with the Plesio since it's not too much weaker anyway 8. Mosa, fast, stong, platform saddle, tek saddle, it's good but not great, it's worse at killing alpha's than the Tuso, Megalodon and Xiphactinus, it's slower/less agile than the Plesio and Manta, the Megalodon is better to use for a tek saddle and the Plesio is better to use for the platform saddle so there isn't much use to it but if you happened to find a good level Mosa while u can't find a good Plesio or Tuso it's still definitely worth getting it 9. Diplocaulus, basically just a better Ichthy that can also go on land and gives u oxygen 10. Manta also just a better Ichthy 11. Ichthy, easy to find, tame, cheap saddle, fast, overall just really good for getting into the ocean for the first time it's just kinda outclasses by the Manta, Diplo and some semi-aquatic creatures like the Baryonyx and Sarco 12. Liopleurodon, fast and strong, easy to find in ASA (it has a guaranteed spawn somewhere in the snow)not too hard to tame, gives a buff to drops, overall a very good creature to have might've even been pretty high on the list if it wasn't a temporary tame, no proper levels (similar to Titanosaur), no breeding, no saddle for armor, goes away after 30 minutes or after dying, it's similar to the Phoenix, very good creature but due to certain limitations it's useless 13. Eels, their main use is useless, they're like underwater Hyaenodons but they lack the stats/armor to actually fight anything other than Megalodons and since they're mainly pack creatures it also means they just get overshadowed by Megalodons and Xiphactinus since they're stronger and can be ridden, are easier to tame and have a bleed effect. I'm curious how the Shastasaurus fits into all of this, I'm expecting it to be at least top 5 when it comes out but we'll see, they also made the Oasisaur a lot worse than I thought it would be so they might do the same to the big dolphin boi

come on just get a andrewsarchus with its saddle and kill some fish for fish meat and passivly tame a basilo

Translation: Just get an andrewsarchus, ride it underwater, and kill some fish to get the MEAT. Then feed it to a basilosaurus if you find one WHILE avoiding the mantas and stuff that aggros when you feed the basilo. (Passive tame)
I hate how they made liopleurodon basically a buff this had potential to be the best or good underwater creatures and this is one of my fav prehistoric dinosaurs and I can't have it permanently due to its luck buff
Actually tho I would still stick to my basilo because I can safely farm biotoxin

One day I was telling my friend how stupid rare lioplurodons are while we were in water doing our tame all challenge. We proceeded to find 6 lioplurodons over the whole journey trying to find a tuso. We were shocked at the first 2 and our mouths just kept dropping. He's my Goodluck charm fr.
When your looking for the rare buggers, look for a giant kraken! Then you'll find 6.
The Liopleurodon is also immune to the tuso grab and the jellyfish and eels stuns tho
