    I had one of those tables. I hated it, and gave it away. I didn't like the frame. That top was irritating to assemble, as you mentioned. The table wasn't very stable. The biggest thing that got on my nerves was, every time you touch it, or set anything on it, it sounded like garbage can lids banging together. Drove me nuts! Another couple went with us one weekend. They commented on how cool that table is, and how much they liked it. Solved my whole problem. They own it now.

    Honest review. I bought an MSR folding camp table a few years ago. It sets up easily, is adjustable in height, is sturdy but has a slightly smaller top than the one you have reviewed (although I can use some additional slats I made to make it larger). The one I bought is still going strong after much use and was a good deal at $20.

    It looks good enough for me...the wobbling issue could be fixed easily enough with a rock or piece of wood..once you figure out how it fits together I don’t see much of an issue there...the plastic looked reasonably sturdy...I think it would be fine in a larger tent for putting your boots and clothing on it at night to keep them off the ground so no creatures could get into them....I’d get one.it seems to me to be a fair price for what you get.....To each their own though.

    I bought one of these though I have not really used it yet. When I opened the box, I found the little net bag portion to have been left out of the package. Also, the storage bag was missing the drawstring (not really a big deal). I wrote directly to them explaining the missing items and they replied back the next day asking for my Amazon order number which I provided to them. They wrote back within 24 hours and said they would be shipping me a replacement- I expected a replacement net bag but I received an entire table and this one was not missing any items. They wrote me again after they saw that I had received the replacement and asked was I happy with their service which I was and asked me to do a review which I have not done as yet. I'm not sure how well the table will hold up but they certainly complied with their replacement guarantee quickly and completely.

    I recently watched your review on the Coleman roll up camping table, you stated the price was exceptional at around $30, but when I went on Amazon and eBay the price is well over $50. I purchased the Alps roll up table and with tax and all it was a bit over $50, and it has a 4.8 rating! It looks almost Identical to the Coleman, but users say it is very stable, so I think your review drove up the price of the Coleman as the demand for it surged!

    What table would you recommend that can hold up to a hot pot of boiling water? I got the Trekology version of this table which is essentially identical. I was concerned that the fabric tables wouldn't work well with hot things, mainly a hot pot of water that's just been taken off a camp stove for cooking Mtn House dinners.

    I am just not a fan of tables with plastic hinges connecting the top, as you said. They just worry me. If they break you are pretty much done unless you are a fabrication master. I much prefer the kind with shock cord holding the top together. I know that one day the cord will fail from dryrot or maybe I set the top on fire from a stove or something. That being said one can always just thread through new cord 50 years from now and still have a table.

    I dont like the plastic links, they could melt or even break (now unusable unrepairable) BUT having a luxury item
    is nice on a camp trip so. I own (3 months now ) the 16 "NICE C" table i like it better as it has 2 bunji cords running
    through holes under each aluminum section (hence repairable) however, ALL these tables have a little "noise" to them.
    to get around this, I added shrink wrap tubing to the top 2 cross beams-this was an improvement. and to make it REALLY
    sturdy, take out the knots in the cord ( making the bunji longer) then use the cross beam as a giant needle and thread (loop)
    through each table slat on the bottom (not easy !) NOW there is a cord loop wrapped around the cross beam and you have a VERY sturdy table, just a tip, it works for me. I still think 40 bucks was a little high for the nicec. RR. WVA.

    I bought this table after getting their chair. The set up is VERY easy compared to the GSI table of the same size. Have used it used on 2 camping trips so far. Holding up well. The GSI table legs are always ready to buckle and fold in. Not stable at all. This one is. I think the bungee cord on the GSI table will fail before the plastic hinges on this one.

    I ordered one from Amazon.com. I set it up in my living room and attempted to use it. It was so flimsy I was concerned it would collapse and possibly spill hot coffee or dinner in my lap. I packed it up and it is going back to Amazon tomorrow morning. It is typical of the quality we as Americans have not yet begun to enjoy from our friends in China. As difficult as it may seem, the Chinese tend to over sell and over rate their products but under-manufacture and cut corners in materials, design, and engineering. I am ordering a decent Helinox table as a replacement.

I have the Trekology ($60) version of this table and I have similar pros and cons, especially regarding the quality of some parts which is not so good. It works and I guess that's what really matters. I found a laminate folding table at Walmart for $18 that I trust more; big con is the weight. • @DonP_is_lostagain
    @DonP_is_lostagain 4 года назад

    Is it worth $42? No. Basically, you have one or two companies in China that produce these tables in different colors and combinations of materials that then sell them to whichever companies are retailing them. So, in essence, you're getting the same table, regardless of who's name is on it, or what color it's in. And I don't mean that as a knock on China, or retailers either. It just is what it is in today's retail world. I'd be concerned about those plastic links as well. Over time they're going to wear down, where aluminum, or even steel will not. At least not over a short period. But, thanks for the review! Cheers! DonP

    • @P_RO_
      @P_RO_ 4 года назад +1

      Yep, the China way. But the individual companies can choose the grades of materials used so sometimes paying more gets you more, but not always. China also has 'public' designs, where anyone is welcome to copy the product and alter it as they please- usually cheaper and lesser than the original was or is, but again not always. The one thing you can count on is that paying the least WILL get you the least even if it looks the same.

    Price point tell them again, price vs build it's always an issue it will always be an issue. Let's face it if you want to charge the big bucks you better make sure everything is just right because if it's not Luke is definitely going to find it cheers to you Luke. Great video my friend stay safe stay well and as always God bless
