Shug is one of the only people/"RUclipsrs" that I wholeheartedly trust that his opinions are genuine. Just did a -5 hammock overnight. I rewatched old shug vids to see if I was forgetting anything or to get some tips before heading out. Thanks again Sean. Followed you from the hammock forums to RUclips quite a few years ago and never looked back. I'll be checking out that podcast next.
Just had my first night using my new Shorty and Baggy. What a great idea! Nice to deal with the cool folks at Schwarze Biene, too. Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this thorough A to Z review of this table. I have held off from purchasing a camping table for a year and a half and multiple camping trips, but this little table is so cleverly designed, has awesome accessories for customization and is super low in weight and volume. I was so excited about it when presenting it to Santa Claus and his crew, that Santa and his Elves ended up with failure to communicate and I greatly benefited from it 😊 as Santa brought me a Big Mama with all available accessories and one of Santa’s Elves brought me a Best Buddy ❤️😎
Good stuff Shug! I orders some of their stuff A while back in two different orders(decided after the original purchase to add accessories) and they caught the double order and emailed me to tell me that they would send it in one order to save shipping. They refunded me difference! A lot of company’s wouldn’t do that. Good looking out on their part. That’s the kind of company that deserves a shout out. Thanks again!
Thirty years ago, an ultralight folding chair would have been a luxury item for me. Now it's a necessity. Great design on the table that should last a lifetime. Cheers
Awesome review Shug!!! I bought one of these with the holder and baggy for my motorcycle hammock camping adventures and it's great!!! I love making coffee from my aeropress on the schwarzebiene from my hammock. 🙃
You gave me an idea. I think that I'll buy one of those little titanium camp grates and fix myself up a camp table with some sort of removable socket so I can have a multipurpose piece of gear that I could justify taking on a long hike! 🤔 Nice to be up at 2 AM, having gone to bed early. Good excuse to brew up an organic decaf with the cone dripper that I used to take hiking. For the past 10 years, I have been taking a reusable stainless mesh electric coffee drip basket. I put grounds in it, bring water to a boil in a large titanium pot, take it off the heat, set the basket in the water (can't make it too deep, or the grounds will overflow into the brew), let it steep, lifting and draining it a few times, remove it, and pour a couple of good cups of coffee. On the longer hikes, of course, I suck it up and use instant. 😞 Thanks for the vid and the idea! 👍Btw: I use an alcohol stove, hence the large pot. It's MUCH more efficient at capturing the broad, spreading flame pattern of an alcohol stove and, surprisingly, doesn't weigh appreciably much more than a 700 ml. cup (pot is a 1300 ml Evernew titanium with the handles removed (one was broken, so it was returned and marked way down - a lucky find. Have had it for 15 years!). P.S. I'm glad that I discovered hammocking around the turn of the century. I never miss having a good camp chair!
Just received my order from Schwarze Biene yesterday! Quality items! I am unable to camp at this time due to health constraints, but I'm going to set this up in my backyard and and enjoy them anyway!
I love watching Shug, while out camping. Hanging out in a hot tent keeping the stove going. Sleeping in my haven for the first time. Whooo buddy from the woods.
Thank you, Shug, for summarizing the details surrounding this table md offering your opinion. I was fortunate to have come across the Schwarze Biene website perhaps a year ago or more. I have been saving for this table and the additional doodads for quite awhile, and I will be purchasing it despite the generally-perceived high purchase price. Why? Several reasons: 1) I cannot, without undue logistical difficulty, easily make it myself, 2) it appears to be of very good design and material quality, 3) it solves many mildly irritating problems regarding alternative storage/table options for a hammock user, and 4) it is being offered by a cottage business (which I like to support). I appreciate the fact that you continue to highlight new innovations, products , and/or ideas relevant to hangers and present them in your own affable style. Good stuff! Appreciate the heck out of your efforts!
Lap of luxury! What’s next, traveling with a barista?! My luxury item is pants. Nice table(s). I remember the first prototype. Good to have the little niceties.
Long time listener,1st time caller 😆. Just watched the podcast. You said something I wanted to touch on. Inspiration vs. Influence. You have have helped inspire me to get back out on some hikes, and working back to backpacking. 22yr marriage ended and set me back a couple yrs on getting to the 1 place that probably could have helped the most. So thanks for informing, entertaining, and inspiring. Just keep doing you. And if you ever want to experience Colorado some let me know, you can crash at my camper/property for base camp and go exploring. As a fellow introvert with some spirit I know having your own space is important. Thanks again.
Ah Shug man I have missed you and recently caught up with some videos. Between the fancy Expresso machine and these great tables you have become sooo cosmopolitan. I am thinking you need to start wearing more kilts. Be well my friend you are always an inspiration.

I’ve wanted one of these ever since I first saw you use the original. You said then that they weren’t making them to sell. I couldn’t find them anywhere (I looked.) I did see these on someone else’s channel not too long ago, but I’m glad you confirmed that it’s from the original person. Now I just need to add them to my Christmas list ;)
Love the table. I wanted one since I saw the first version you have. At the time the Schwarze Biene tables were not available, so I made one with a cheap cutting board and a crossbow bolt. Not as many options, bells, and whistles as what is available from Schwarze Biene now, but for $7 I am not complaining. I use it next to my chair at the campfire and use it next to the hammock. It's a great accessory.

I made one of my own….it cost me all in $35…. And that add on holder for hanging cups or like you, for the phone, I made hinged piece to save space ….been using it now for 5 years…..better than the $100+ one that you can buy…
They have a nice site too. I think they were out of stock on some stuff last time I eyeballed 'em. Nice gear though. Appreciate seeing how the various options are used, that's helpful. The new Moka Pot is SWEET, and has been properly christened this weekend.

I just watched a video where you said that you are always looking for ideas for videos. Well, have you ever shown us how you made your pulk? I know they're not to complicated, but you have a cover, lace them up, rig the poles, poles to sled attachment and poles/rope to your waist. If anyone can make a pulk interesting, you can. Did you catch the compliment?
I sorta did.....5 minutes into this video I speak to it.....ruclips.net/video/8zy9iecyvqc/видео.html
and ruclips.net/video/ffquSy7EYUA/видео.html
See, done did it.
This is off subject, but I just built my homage to Old Greenbean today. 11' 1.6 hyper D with Zing-it ridgeline. Keep the videos rolling, God bless you and your family.
That 1.6 hyper d is nice. Enjoy the clone~~~
@@shugemerythanks, it's a proper kelly green too.
Great video...great to hear the pod cast as well!
Was wondering if you have heard of hayseed dixie?
Blues grass covers of pop tunes..
Better than ya think they might be..
I sure have heard them. Yeah...they mean it!
Thankee. Podcast was a ton of fun. We talked about an hour off the air.
I made one of my own….it cost me all in $35…. And that add on holder for hanging cups or like you, for the phone, I made hinged piece to save space ….been using it now for 5 years…..better than the $100+ one that you can buy…
Nice you have the skills. Titanium??
I got mine as a gift.
They have a nice site too. I think they were out of stock on some stuff last time I eyeballed 'em. Nice gear though. Appreciate seeing how the various options are used, that's helpful.
The new Moka Pot is SWEET, and has been properly christened this weekend.
Good you like your Moka pot. Got Meg a new one. We have Hers and His. And an Us.
Hello kind sir!!! Love this vid about little pack tables! Just curious about your 4 point stool that you strap on your pack sometimes. I love the looks of it and it looks light. Thanks Shug!!
It is a Stansport Camp Stool.....ruclips.net/video/AuHHdWVOLD8/видео.html
@@shugemery 👍🏼
Thanks for the review !
Y'elcome~~
Cool tables. To each their own but I like some comfort items. For me there is more to just knocking out miles.
I used to like doing just miles. Now at 62 I like all of it. Just being out there in the hammock is wonderful. But remote.
Out camping in Canon city Colorado, guess ill watch shug
Enjoy your time out there.
Shug!🤭 It's very important in Sec7.... Tabeless! 🤣 💕
Wha?
I'm down near Wilmington, NC, wondering if I might get in touch with Hickery for some hiking????
Well....he lives in Virginia and is a bit of a hermit.....
@@shugemery All good! Thanks for all you do for the rest of us rookies!
Wie gehts Herr Schüg.
Ist dein Tisch ein kleiner Tisch? Ja, dein Tisch ist ein kleiner Tisch. Ist Ihr Tisch ein einbeiniger Tisch? Ja, Ihr Tisch ist ein einbeiniger Tisch. Gut. Jetzt ist Zeit für Kaffee. Auf Wiedersehen Herr Schüg.
👋😃👍 🇩🇪 ❤ 🇺🇸
Einer ist ein dreibeiniger Tisch, der ein kurz-, mittel- oder langbeiniger Tisch war und sein kann. Oder hoch. Ot groß, wenn Sie es vorziehen.
I like it, pretty cool! “Best buddy”! They should make one called the WhooooBuddy! Or the light weight summer pack version could be called -TheEarly!...“EARLY!!”
The Whooooo Buddy and the Look-Out Buddy and the EARLY-Bird.
@@shugemery yep! There it is! You got it brother.
Mein Gott in Himmel! 59 Euros für den Shorty!?! Considering I could use it at the beach to keep my sunglasses and phone out of the sand in addition to camping, might be a good investment, Woo Buddy!
I see it as the same as a couple tanks of gas in the truck!
cool little tables, interesting idea. Say. did you make your Fosters cup, or is there a place to purchase them online?
The makes of them retired. There are diy instructions on You Tube.
Related to your cook kit, I grabbed an IMUSA 0.5 liter mug on sale and noticed the lower rivet on the handle leaks. Have you experienced that or know of others that have?
A dab of J-Weld will fix that. Apply to the outside. Did that to mine yeas ago.
Nothing like drinking my morning coffee while listening to you chat away! Great stuff! The ice rink looks amazing, I'm so jealous (we never get weather cold enough to safely freeze lakes here).
One question: what are those little tables you have around camp? Where can I get one and how much do they cost?
Haaaa~
Thank u
Y'elcome.
