I just recently read Kindred and it was so good! I won't forget it.

Kindred is one of my favourite books of all time and reads like a thriller because it is so fast-paced. I read it in one day, highly recommend!

    Hi Alice
Where I live at here in the US my State that I live in - we get lots of Mix Weather in March as well. We have had Ice Storms - Down Pouring Rain - Hot Weather - Below Freezing Weather - Snow. Yesterday into this morning - Saturday through Sunday Morning we got Snow and Extreme Cold Temps.
I have read several of Elizabeth Peters Books and the books by Ellis Peters - I like them.
The Books you talk about sounds really good.

What a great mix of books on your TBR Alice. I haven’t read any of them but was excited to put a few of them on my steadily increasing pile. Thankyou for all these recommendations.

I have made a Spring TBR, I want to get to Sinister Spring which is a short story collection of Agatha Christies work, also a non fiction book by David Attenborough.
Im hoping to read A Thousand Ships in April ❤

I feel like you’d like the series I just started. The Gaslight Series by Victoria Thompson. It’s about a mystery solving Midwife

Hi Alice, I love Elizabeth Peters books and if you like the Amelia Peabody series also try the Vicky Bliss series (there are 6) by the same author. They are such fun. Cosy mystery with a feisty female art historian lead and lots of great characters and locations. They are some of my favourite comfort rereads and I think you would like them based on your other book choices. I really enjoy your videos 😊

So sad there aren’t more Vicky Bliss books! Have you read her books under her other pseudonym Barbara Micheals? They are more gothic/supernatural. I loved them too!

I agree. I think I read a couple in the past but will check them out as I also like gothic/supernatural books! Thank you Melissa 😊

I definitely need to get to Kindred too. I have the exact same edition as you on my shelf, and I'm confident that I'm gonna like it. But somehow I still haven't started reading it 😂

I enjoyed both the Daughter of Fortune and The Paris Library very much. Thanks for reminding me about the Elizabeth Peters series. I've only read the first one so some fun reading in store! 🙂

The Gadfael mysteries have also been adapted into a tv series if I remember correctly. If I'm right, it is an older series, but it was fun. Kindred is great! And I also mostly enjoy Isabel Allende's writing. I liked that one too. Hope you get to some of the books on your list. :)

I read Death by Dumpling and was a little disappointed. It’s slow through the middle; it’s just OK. I might try another in the series, since this was a first outing and her writing may have improved. Some of those others look very intriguing!

Btw, Kindred is not science fiction. Yes, there is a time travel aspect, but even Octavia E. Butler has stated herself, it cannot be science fiction since there's no real scientific reason for it happening, therefore it is fantasy :)
I read it in February and like you mentioned, my first thought was "why haven't I read this before". Oh well. I just finished "Parable of the Sower" this weekend, and really enjoyed it aswell!

I’ve read the first 10 books in the Amelia Peabody series-thanks to your recommendation in the past. All were very good-I lost interest when the focus became centered around the next generation though-but I really enjoyed those first ones. A series you might enjoy is the Veronica Speedwell mystery series by Deanna Raybourn. Very cheeky heroine and a very very slow burn romance set in Victorian London. The newest book was released this month- A Sinister Revenge.

We've had snow sprinklings and a bit of slush on and off throughout March, which for some reason always comes as a surprise - because it'll be all spring-like but then Denmark will be like "Ha! Tricked ya! Here's some of the snow you're owed from December"

I am currently reading Elektra by Jennifer Saint and I am in love. The amount of personalization, emotion and depth that these retellings bring to the table. So I'll be picking up Ariadne for sure as well!
