Love those screwdrivers. I have a full set of the clear yellow ones and they’re the first ones I reach for at my workbench. Nice job. Adam would be proud.
Turned out great, I want to get a set of those Stanley Black & Red handle screwdrivers like all the old timers had when I was a kid. I have the Black & Yellow and the Yellow & Red sets but not even one of the Black & Red.
What great job, MD! As usual, or course. I love these Stanley screwdrivers. I am amazed at your skill and patience to repaint the lettering! I felt it was too bad that you removed the lettering and lo, and behold, you repaint it. Fantastic!
The previous owner did not use it much as the blade tip was nearly new. Maybe he did not like the 3 flute handle design. Nice work in restoring the lettering in yellow. You have plenty of patience.
Wonderfully pleasurable viewing - thanks for posting yet another terrific video, Magdad. I can see why it caught your eye; this is a particularly handsome screwdriver
Nice restoration, came out looking good. They are good screwdrivers. I have a couple of smaller sized Stanley Workmaster screwdrivers, smoke grey handles, that I bought, probably in the late 70's early 80's. And I have a couple of later model ones from the late 80's or 90's that are the same shape handle, but yellow handles.
Very nice work on that Stanley Workmaster 66-208 Screwdriver. I found one medium size Phillips and really like it. Thanks for filling us in on how you filled in the branding on the handle.
That was a very helpful tutorial as I never thought of using denatured alcohol to remove paint on plastic handles. Thanks for sharing this. Chuck's new magnet card looks good too.
So very cool!! I have one that my Dad had since I was a kid; dunno where he got it. I saw something about how they’re becoming special these days (I think you told me!) so it’s in my to-restore toolbox!! How you cleaned up the handle is the info I needed!! Thank you sir!!
I use alcohol for many cleanups in my shop/garage. I also use Goo-Gone as well. However never use Goop-Off (different product) on plastics. It is acetone based and will eat the plastic and ruin it. I learned it the hard way.
I always look forward to your weekly video's, Nice to see Chuck doing his thing. You also did a great job on the workmaster resto Magdad, keep up the good work.

Nice Job on the Workmaster Screwdriver it just needed a little TLC by Chance did that screwdriver have that awful smelling Screwdriver handle ????? because i have a Workmaster Screwdriver and it has that really bad smelling handle .... Have a great Sunday and it was nice to see Mr Chuck back in the workshop
I used to use Goo Gone, but switched to De-Solv-it which does as good a job without being caustic or smelling like turpentine, in fact it is food safe, because it is mostly Di-Limonene, made from citrus peels. For alcohol I use regular IPA, which is same as denatured without the added poison.
Well Done! You found the secret that Denatured Alcohol will dissolve latex paints. It's great for final cleaning of paint brushes. I also found a bottle of Goo-Gone Paint Remover that may have worked for you, but I like DA better.
My passion is old made in US slip joint knives with scales that have shrunk, dull blades and just plain ugly. Not surprisingly the innards springs, brass liners and blades are still rock solid from American craftsman. I take off the scales and add cherry wood scales that I dry in my garage. When I finish refurbishing a knife, I always feel like I am honoring the craftsmen who originally made the innards.
@@357magdad I am currently working on a Colonial Fishtail. It was an ugly thing when I got it. Horrible brown and yellow plastic scales, false pins and false bolsters. Ripped all that and got down to the liners, blades and spring. Instead of pins, three rivets were used-actually a good idea. I understand why US knife companies scrimped on handmade quality control. In the end it didn't save them.
I remember looking up that model right after Adam made that video and they were all gone off of eBay and I just searched again and see people selling ones like yours was in the beginning for $50+ I like the design of it, but I don’t like it $50 much! I have to wonder if Adam searches for prices of things prior to releasing a rave video on a vintage item and if he collaborates with people who have things to sell, hoping to make a big profit off of his raves. I kind of don’t like that, if that’s the case. But I understand it. To me, it’s kind of like the Wilton Bullet vise. It’s got a ton of gravitas and iconic pedigree as well as years of raves from popular makers on RUclips. But anyone who knows anything about vises will tell you that it’s very good, but certainly not the best of the best. But if Adam did a video about them tomorrow, and we checked today, the sales prices of the ones from today would more than double in a day and only go up from there. As soon as you see it, your heart starts beating fast and you want it. Why? Because Adam said it was so great. We are all too easy to manipulate 😅
Thanks for watching! If denatured alcohol didn't work, I was gonna try Goof Off. If that didn't work I was gonna try paint remover, but only leave it on for three Mississippi's. Final resort would be sanding it off.
