Actually she would lose a lot of money. With her income it is cheaper to buy finished meals instead of doing them herself. Why should she save 7$ and wasting 30 min for prepping a meal if she could have made 50$ in the same time?
Also she doen't need to waste her mental resources on comming up with a dish and executing the preparation task.

@MTG Lion He isn't talking about the walk, he is talking about the time spent driving around waiting for someone to leave their free parking spot. It can take a long time waiting for someone to leave, plus the gas and the stress of dealing with other people doing the same thing. I would gladly park a block away and walk than deal with all that.

WHAT? Seriously? An hour is worth a lot more than $4.
That is the way I look at it. What is the opportunity cost of my time? I proof read and edit manuscripts as a side-gig (I'm an academic). If I spend an hour I could have spent working doing something else, that is a cost. If I cook an extravagant meal that cost 10 dollars worth of groceries and 2 hours of my time (one for shopping, one for cooking), the cost of that meal should take into account the time I spent. If I have a manuscript bid that day, and I could have bought a similar meal for 30 bucks on uber eats, I definitely didn't save 20 dollars. The time I could have spent on the manuscript is worth a lot more than 10 dollars an hour. I find that with a lot of the things Graham talks about that, yes, its true you can really cut your monetary outgoings right down by dedicating time and a little effort to accomplishing them yourself. However, you really need to make sure you don't end up costing yourself more money in terms of the alternative uses of your time. Little things like the iced coffee? Sure. More time intensive things though? I can pay someone 5 bucks an hour on Task Rabbit to assemble an Ikea cabinet while I sit in the next room working. Or buy a cheap takeout lunch for ten bucks, and get an extra hour of work done.

Food delivery service are SO dangerous. The "convenience" is not convenient (wait time) and the price is literally double. Not worth it.
Really only convenient if you don't have a car or are incapable of driving (i.e. too drunk). It's so much upcharged I never use those services.
@@dynamichunter843 Yeah, that is a good point. It can be convenient in some situations, but for people like Shelby, I feel that she could be saving herself a lot of money if she meal prepped. My wife and I save SO much by not eating out and shopping at CostCo twice a month.
It’s a loose/loose situation for everyone. My dad owns a restaurant and you would not believe how much money they take! For example, Uber Eats takes like 30% of the earnings. These companies take a lot of money, but restaurant owners have to invest in them simply because it brings them more business. These sorts of services suck for everyone except for the company. You have to pay extra while the restaurant makes less.

Michael Webb Graham is talking about what the cheapest thing to buy at a coffee shop is not making coffee at home tips. He mentioned in the video taking hot black coffee and pouring it over a free cup of ice instead of paying for the properly made iced coffee which is barely any more money. The debate is if sacrificing quality for an insignificant savings is worth it.

She worked hard to build her business and she's earned it. I was just making a joke about how expensive her hair is. It's an interesting look about how people let their expenses grow with their income, preventing them from ever holding true wealth.

The iced coffee hack actually made me laugh out loud. That is genius, and so simple.
... but then you have watered down warm coffee at best. It is the equilivant of getting a cup of warm water instead of coffee. If you ever tried it, it is sad - but in a pinch used once of twice it works.

They showed me the frozen package and how they put it in the oven so they can't take off the cheese. It was wrapped in plastic. Maybe some other Starbucks do that but at my Starbucks in NC that is how it is.

It’s interesting seeing the price of stuff in California. I live in Pasadena, Texas a small town under Houston and seeing small things like having to pay for parking all the time or the inflated price of haircuts and coffee is interesting. I can get away with driving into the border street of Houston and getting a $10 dollar haircut with tip included
Yeah I’m ready move out of California. The salary income is the same as other states but the cost of living is 2-3 times the amount. This is coming from someone who lives in a small small town in California. Still super expensive. I gotta checkout Texas

The egg stuff that tastes like an egg is called Just Egg. It's made out of mung bean protein (tastes nothing like tofu, lol)... quite good actually. She showed herself grabbing it at whole foods in the clip or two before that. (the yellow bottle @ 11:28).
There are cheaper ways to make a vegan scramble, but this stuff is the bomb. No harm in trying it out once. (especially to avoid the cruelty in egg production)
