- In Georgia, a railroad company threatens to use the state's eminent domain laws to take land away from black folks so they can lay down a spur track right through the predominately black community in Sparta.
A spur track is a stub track that diverges from the main or other tracks, which provides access to industrial or commercial areas. It usually dead ends within an industry area.
Janet and Mark Smith are leading the No Railroad In Our Community Coalition. They are trying to protect the 600 acres that have been in their family since 1926.

It's a .shame how companies can come and take people's properties while they still have their homes. Run a railroad where they live. It just doesn't make any sense trying to uproot people, I pray God will intervene on their behalf.
