At last. Someone who can play the guitar, make a sensible, meaningful demo and record it properly. This really shows what the amp can do. Well done, sir. More please!
Thank you for posting another great review/demo. You provide viewers with practical information and details that other channels tend to overlook. Keep up the great work!
I'm watching this video while I'm making Sunday sauce for the family... But seriously, I'm subscribed to your channel because I really like the way you explain the product not just playing with your guitar through the amplifier, you articulate the product features very well.
I bought the sv20c combo. I love the versatility it has. By crossing the normal and high gain imputs, it really brings the vintage sound out. I find with just a tube screamer, I can get all the vintage sounds I was looking for. . I also added a volume pedal into the effects loop so I can use it like a master volume. I can turn up the input volumes to overdrive the tubes, and use the volume pedal to keep the amp at a playable volume. Any pedal will work for this purpose. I Great review.
Wow. Great demo of this Marshall amp - thank you for that! I appreciate how you focused on the amp’s features like the DI and that you used different guitars. Brilliant work! You have a nice collection of amplifiers...
Hi Scott, thank you very much! This is really a great compliment! I'm doing these videos totally for free, I'm really enjoying it and your appreciation is a great motivation for going on ...
@@LeoGibsonGtr well, i'll subscribe. there's a lot of quality feeling I hear in your playing that I aspire to. even your shredding is so tasteful which is a nice change.
Hi Leo! I'm actually between taking this head or the UA Lion. I hope soon there will be a video of it from you. Please, when you take the UA Lion, do this ''pushed bright, presence + high treble channel + treble thing with a strat'' the main reason I love Marshall is exactly what you have demonstrated on 13:30. Cheers!
Awesome video! And yes please, do a video about different ways of patching. I've always seen it patched one way and I didn't even know you can do it multiple ways.
Super recensione Leo! Sto seriamente pensando a questo ampli + un attenuatore o load box per usarlo come main amp in studio. Hai chiarito ogni punto oscuro. Grazie!
Nice demo, good job! P.S. L'accento italo-veneto è un po' terrificante... ^__^ ma trovare youtuber nostrani che parlano così bene inglese è comunque un evento, bravo!
Great Demo, play n Sound!! I like this amp more and more but also your Boss pedals...hmm hard... BTW did not know that you can split these tele pubs, fender also has such??.very nice tele to👍
Hi, thank you!!! The Suhr Tele I'm playing has two splittable humbuckers and actually I'm not sure if there is a Fender Tele with the same possibility...I think that they are not available, but I'm not 100% sure... Thank you for your message!!
Hi Leo, i get t’he marshall sv20h I Don’t Know wich is the method to connect trought di out, wich cable i need and Is dangerous for head if i Don’t connect By cabinet Its possible get the Sound with my studio monitors trought my audio interface? Thank you
Amazing video Leo! Finally I saw many different tones coming out of this beatiful amp ! I believe it would be a great amp for Fender and Gibson guitar! How are the clean tones compare to fender amps ? What is your opinion ? I believe this amp has more versatility than fender amps. Thank you :)
Thank you so much, I'm happy that you appreciate the video! I love this amp....and the low wattage allows us to crack the volume up....cracking up the power amp tubes...that's were the magic happen.... I would say that the clean tones are pretty different...in my opinion this amp needs to be used crancked up and the you can change the sound from clean to distorted just changing the volume of your guitar or the pressure of your pick.... Fender amps, especially for clean tones, can be of course played even if not cranked out.... So at the end...the Plexi is the "Dynamic amp" per excellence...😀
@@LeoGibsonGtr you are welcome ! It was nice! sounds like I need an attenuator with it ! 😁 if I have to crank up. I want to play Hendrix, Led zeppelin, Philip Sayce, blues rock etc.
Hi Sam, well I love the sound of this amp when it's crancked, but even at 5 watts it's gonna be pretty loud. So I would suggest an attenuator. For gigs it's fine, but even there, if you want to crank it all the way up, you are gonna need an attenuator. Thank you for your question!
Leo Gibson no worries man, thanks for the awesome track! Do you think that the studio vintage with a 1x12 cab would make it suitable for bedroom or will it not make much difference?
Hi Sam, well also at 5 watt the SV is going to be pretty loud. A 1x12 cab is fine, but if you want to cranck the amp you would still need an attenuator.
Hi, it's a beautiful and very hard question and would require a video...:). I bought my first Suhr in 2013 and when I selected her I did it mainly for the following reasons (...maybe now things have changed...): stability of the neck (Suhr was among the first with roasted neck), consistency of the Shur guitars (I mean...all the Suhrs I've tried sounded great), the neck shape and material is fabolous (it perfectly fits my hand and is so smooth...I love it), the sound and feel is just right (a perfect blend between vintage and modern tone)...and then there is the "emotional factor" ... I mean when I tried my Black Suhr for the first time, there was a voice telling me "Leo, she is the right one..."...I fall in love with her...and I never regret this choice...after seven years she is still the one...I never get tired playing and she is an infinite font of inspiration! I know, some reasons are not scientific... but music is also emotion...and my Black Suhr is the one with which I'm emotionally connected...So my suggestion is: don't take into consideration my "reasons" and try to find the right one for you....yes, it's like finding the right girl...the one with whom you would spend the rest of your life...:)... Thank you for your very interesting question and sorry for the long answer...but is a very interesting topic!
Great video Leo! How do you think the Origin 20 or 50 hold up against this SV20? I really like the sounds of the SV20, but the Origins are crazy cheap now... Most of the time I would use these amp in 5W or even more attenuated with my Torpedo Captor. Otherwise, at full power mode for silent recording with impulse responses
Hi, the Origin is a pretty solid option. The difference withe the SV 20 is that the Origin is a master volume amp, so it's a little bit less dynamic than the SV...it is more similar to a JCM 800 (in my opinion). I've reviewed the Origin in my channel, maybe you can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/kfJvxGAGZx0/видео.html Thank you for your message!
Cool amps but not loud enough for band practice or even small gigs. I play in a rock trio and yes we are loud but the amp could not keep up with the drums. Taking it back. Bummer.

Leo Gibson me too! I’ve been experimenting with emulators like Line 6 Helix which comes close enough for recording but nothing beats a tube amp live!

The amp seem to sound good. But I'm prudent. Marshall did the same kind of campaign with the AFD100 that had all sorts issues afterwards.
