Also, she donated all of the proceeds from her poetry book to the Indian reservations as retribution for the ride mv LOL good for her ! Even though she meant no harm. Lana's too good for this world !!! 🌎 ✨️
If Born To Die was about Lana finally finding success in the music industry, Paradise is about Lana’s joy and disappointment in what she found there. Lana spent so much time grasping for this idealized version of fame, that once she found it, she was disillusioned by the reality. The line about wearing diamonds on Skid Row was meant to illuminate the wasteful excess she witnessed in the music industry. Yayo was a song Lana wrote before she became Lana. It’s an allegory for her desperation to be able to distribute her music widely. Lana was living in a trailer park, and her attempt at putting out a record under Lizzy Grant did not go well. The label didn’t promote her much at all. Yayo is about begging someone to take a chance on her. “Let me put on a show”. There’s a lot of hyperbole and metaphor on this album. It’s so hard to take it all in with one listen. You did an amazing job. Lana did catch a lot of shit for the headdress, Chicano appropriation, and the Ride video in general btw lol. Lana’s kind of wild, but she lives and learns, and she has a beautiful heart.
I’m so excited for your Honeymoon reaction!!! It’s such a shift in ambiance and instrumentation - it’s very cinematic and slow. It’s my favourite album, but for some their least favourite. Very curious to see what you think of it!
I do believe the Tropico film was referring to all the sins in the current day. And on top of it, how crazy people are about media/pop culture. That might be why she’s misrepresenting many known icons and references? Because of how it’s all taken on a different meaning? That’s just what I gather from it😅
Nah keep up the yapping! It aint a review/reaction if we dont get some yap. And once again congrats on hitting 1k bro! Proud of you and looking forward to being apart of this journey and the things you'll do in the future
Imma save that for the end as the *EXTRA Episode and probably post it a month early on Patreon… if I ever figure it out, if not I’ll post it after Ocean Blvd
LOL yeah rightfully so she got backlash for that headdress, she still did get a lotta hate, but she wore it bc it was gifted BY an indigenous person, shes donated to indigenous communities after that. I would say yeah paradise is ab her unhappiness with fame, but also her personality and how much she uses escapism thru money love drugs fame liquor in her life. v relatable. American gets better w time imo, honestly it was a good spin on the patriotism of Americans because the bad side of it sucks. Cola on TOPPP she stopped performing it live after the allegations of Harvey came out (she had said before she made the chorus ab women or her persona liking rich guys like Harvey BEFORE the allegations lol) but her live performances of this r so cool. She does acc have a good relationship with her father, her mother, not so much. Im canadian but for lana im patriotic for america. Yeah blue velvet is a cover. ALSO YAYO supremacy sooo underrated, but her old version of it is superior lowkey (on her old album lana del rey aka lizzy grant) and ur so smart yes yayo is like love being like drugs imo. YOU RLLY KNO her writing i love ur reactions (except the fact that u didnt like yayo) BUrning desire also is hella underrated.. its so hot... guess u didnt understand the cuntiness. love love gods and monsters. CANT WAIT TO SEE HONEYMOON REACTION imo underrated album w beautiful vocals.
You did it! Thank you ☺ If you want to know my opinion about reactions to fan videos - I don't need it. I mean they could be great and you can make separate reactions to them, if u want to. But this is still fan art and I came here to see reaction to Lanas art 🤗
