I own the Q Acoustics 3050 using a Rotel a11 tribute and I hear as you describe an acoustic guitar on the right speaker around the 20-second mark. I think the Q Acoustics are underpriced for what we pay and I heard a few of them and all of them sound much better than the price would suggest. Keep the great videos coming. The last thing while you still have those speakers try a song called Britney spears- Everytime and listen to how detailed that song is.Q Acoustics for me just makes that song shine and every other Q Acoustics speaker i have listened to. They just sound real-sounding without adding
      exaggeration

Ahahahahahah Or...Or Get some "White Cotton Gloves" like FOMO...uses. I appreciate their efforts, but regardless of its price I lean to liking a bit of MSG, not U shaped but with a bit of tone in my speakers, as Thomas would say... Hey, and isn't that WHY they make Tone Controls...

I agree with your description completely based upon my Concept 20. Detail, clarity and accuracy but not harsh treble, it's like a doctor cleaned out my ears and I didn't realise what I was listening to was dull until I heard the through the Concept 20. It's like I'm sitting and listening and experiencing.
I've only had a few different sets of speakers and amplifiers but I enjoy just sitting and listening to the Q Acoustics sound. There's detail and clarity, speech is clear when using them for TV, but it's not a harsh treble hissy sound, it's just detailed and clear. They don't lack bass, there's enough bass but they are not dance club speakers. I found myself just listening to song after song and just sitting there experiencing the clarity. The society I have them paired with is a Marantz MCR610 (60w x2 or 4 X 30w, radio, CD, streaming, internet radio, USB, analogue and digital inputs, WiFi and Lan) so this amp will be doing it's thing also. I like mostly guitar bass music, acoustic, rock, pop but also some dance and a little tiny bit of classical.
I have the 2010i and Concept 20 on 2 different systems. Well worth trying these out. I bought the 2010i secondhand and liked them so much I bought the concept 20 new on a discount. The concept 20 are similar to the 2010i but better. The concept 20 have a bit more bass oomph. Now and again I hear a richness and purity and quality that makes me realise that the concept 20s are better. I also listen to drama and plays on the radio, BBC Radio 4 Extra has award winning actors and writers if you're interested, and the concept 20s are excellent for this. I'm listening using DAB, Digital Audio Broadcasting, which is digital broadcast radio and because it's digital there is zero hiss so the sound is really clear so long as they don't reduce the bitrate.
    Hope that helps someone.
And the Marantz MCR610 is a useful little but powerful enough all in one that's available for secondhand at around £100-150, new it was 450, and the MCR612 current model is about 650.

I want to chime in on the whole conversation about speakers "coloring" music, or hearing it "how it was intended".
I know a lot of people push back on the concept of hearing music "how it was intended", and using examples like being there when the band recorded it, listening to the track directly out of the original studio monitors used to master the song, etc. I build speakers, and I'm in the process of doing a lot of learning about construction, crossover design, measurements etc. so I'm going to try and distill down a lot of information into a more digestible format.
A producer's job is not to make a song as amazing as possible on THEIR speakers, the goal is to ensure that all of the instrument performances are presented effectively, and will sound good on a wide range of devices. So by some standard, there is no "as the artist intended". Artistic liberties are taken for effect, and helping accentuate the feeling of a song is the main goal in production.
That basically means that music is never designed to be perfectly accurate on one pair of speakers. However, certain speakers (the vast majority) do add color and accentuate elements of a given song. There's nothing really wrong with that, but when you add color you will find that certain tracks sound really good, while others are lacking in some detail. Basically, when you boost something, you're losing something else (ie. thumpy mid-bass will make the midrange sound more rolled off and less detailed).
At the end of the day, speakers that have low distortion, a flat frequency response, good off-axis performance and no resonances in the enclosure are going to sound the best for the most number of songs, as well as having better imaging. There's a ton of data supporting these findings, and it really gets ignored, misunderstood and overcomplicated by many reviewers. unfortunately measuring and deciphering differences in this information is challenging, but it will help you find the best bang for the buck in a given price range.

Saturday mornings are now about soccer and new reviews playing in my headphones from the sidelines. Thanks, Randy, great job again. One thought: if these are the most revealing, neutral speakers you’ve listened to (at least from your reviews), are you going to start mixing in cheap audio components to replace the gear you fed into the sources? To me it’s a good check to see which contributed most or least to the experience you just shared. Thanks again!

It was interesting to hear your take on them. I got the Concept 20s (and the speaker stands made specifically for them) about a month ago and have a similar take on them. I love them. I have them paired with the Cambridge CXA61 and a 10" Aperion subwoofer and really like the combination. The speakers don't have the tonality of say planar headphones, but they do have the clarity and detail of them to me.

I am in a similar situation.
As an audionut for 30+ years, Q Acoustics is one of the bang for the buck speaker companies IMHO.
I have the Concept 500s hooked up to the CXA81, along with SVS SB 3000 Subwoofer.
      These are my endgame components.
I may upgrade my amp though, but quite happy with this combo and live with them for a long, long time.

I own, and love the Concept 20 speakers (which are ridiculously good and now at about £230 in the UK, with the not-really-optional stands they come to about £450) and I can honestly say that I never tire of them. I'll upgrade at some point I guess, and the new Concept 30s are head and shoulders above anything else on my wishlist. I've subscribed too, yay - not sure if the 100k give away is still open or if being in the UK I'd be eligible, but you've got a new subscriber anyhow. Good job!

I have a pair of concept 20s in a second system (and there are only 2 these days if you don't count the little cambridge amp / jbl control 1s doing av duties to make the tv sound better) and find them very musical. Your vlogs are a good watch but I'll probably concentrate on your watch channel as I'm happy with my main rig and other than replacing an old cyrus cd player with an audiolab there has been no change in almost four years.

Excellent review as always Randy. Another commenter (Christian) wisely recommended mixing in low cost amplification for comparison. How about this for a alternative to your Mac rig: The new Aiyima T10 tube preamp-DAC with either the A07 amp, or to really go hog-wild, a pair of the FOSI M03 amps (essentially a monoblock version of the A07). Aiyima's version of the M03 is the A3001, but I haven't found it on Amazon for the past few months. The M03 subwoofer controls can be bypassed with the flip of a switch on the front of the amp. Rounded price of the Preamp-2X monoblock combo: A wallet busting $320 (maybe a bit less as the T10 has a 5% discount coupon at present). I'm thinking this combo could sound like the Aiyima T9 tube integrated amp you liked (and I own and also like) on steroids.

I'm looking at upgrading my setup and have decided on the Fluance RT85 paired with the iFi Phono pre amp, for speakers I'm looking at the Elac 2.0 B6.2s, my only quandary is what amp to run it all through. Space is a premium so I can't really go down the road of a full on amp/receiver, do you have any recommendations that would compliment the components listed.
    Thanks in advance
