You are wrong about the cdl trailer combo thing. You dont need a cdl if you are in a 26k truck and have a trailer thats 10k or less. Once you go over 10k trailer then you need the cdl. There are flow charts for it to say if you need a cdl or not. The law is so stupid and confusing most cops dont even know it.
Thanks for the comment. Yes I have found that chart and you are correct. This was before I got studied up on the subject. Got my class A cdl last year so no worries anymore.
How are you liking the asv style undercarriage? Ive had a cat257b with asv undercarriage and so far i love the ride and traction over my old wheeled skidsteer. But apparently these are more costly to replace
I really like it. I have an asv rt40 now. I work a lot in yards and residential places and also on a steep riverbank so the low psi and high stability is well worth it to me!
Yes the land plane is a game changer! Check out the build video here. Building a Skid Steer Land Plane / Land Leveler with CAT Parts ruclips.net/video/DWhy-xlhsO0/видео.html
Goals! Yours sound similar to mine. I'm about ready to buy a small single axle dump truck too. I enjoyed the video. Your landplane works exactly as it should. Any customer should be satisfied with your work. Subscribed...
Nice work. What state are you in? I need to step into a CDL also, already got pulled by the state once but I was right at 26k. He now knows me and I’m a target because I pull the heavy loads thru his town often. Curious of the total cost?
I'm in Kentucky. I got my cdl before the new federal laws went into effect on feb 7 of 2022. So it really just cost me maybe $200 to take the written tests and get a new license. Now every state requires ELDT classes. Try to find one online to save money and time if you already know how to drive a big truck.
Yes usually in reverse I'm in float, then I can tilt the bucket cylinders up and down to get more aggressive with the backwards facing blade or tilt it up on the forward facing blade for a better finished back drag. Thanks for the question!
Does the pt30 have a standard sized quick attach or do you need that special smaller size one? And is it a pain to get that to mate up to other attachments or not a big deal?
Hey rob, the quick attach on the pt30 is slightly smaller than a standard quick attach. The height of the mount plates is about 3" less. So some people take a regular skid steer attachment and weld another angled plate 3" below the original top angled plate. If you do this, it obviously won't fit on a standard quick attach with the added plate. Some company does sell an adapter but it pushes the attachment out a few more inches.
Yes, he definitely knew what he was doing, he was happy to help me out too! Thanks for the suggestion, I agree more would be better, but I seem to deliver to a lot of residences with my dump trailer and 5 tons is usually enough. Check out my dump trailer hauling videos!
@@NHWilderness thanks! I have since upgraded to the asv rt40 which is similar frame size but larger engine and more counterweight for a better working capacity. Also has some more creature comforts being a 2018. The s650 is a very large wheeled skid isn't it?
Can you take the cdl test if you just study on your own or do you need learn at an accredited cdl school ? I’m trying to find a way to get my CDL while working a full time job. I don’t have time to go to a 4 week class.
Ross I just got my cdl and passed my test on Jan 3. I didn't take a class I studied and took three written exams for class a, air brakes and combination vehicles (pulling a trailer). After the written tests I received my cdl permit. Then I practiced driving by borrowing a farmers semi truck. Then I used that truck do my pretrip inspection tests, parking tests and road tests. I failed the pretrip my first try. But starting February 7 2022 they are changing the laws and requiring all cdl applicants to go to a school of some sort prior to taking their tests. So your best shot is to study really quick and take your written exams prior to feb 7 and get your permit which is good for 6 months. Then you can take your pretrip and road tests. If you don't get your permit by feb 7 you will have to go to a school.
The required class is now being called eldt or entry level driver training. Check out this site and their Facebook page. They have a lot of good info. www.kycdl.com
I like to say Compact! Haha yes it is smaller but it gets the job done! I recently sold this machine and upgraded to the ASV RT40, which is about the same size but has a 40hp Kubota engine. Subcribe to check out future videos on it!

4th comment, rewatched again. Love the land plane, skid steer, spreading gravel, the driveway process! Love this content and video!
Thank you, this was so helpful! Beautiful job 👍
Thanks for the comment! Glad it helps you out
The video is great!
Hi, are you dragging the plane in float mode?

I have a class A and never use it don’t even need a license if you’re slick enough.
I ended up getting my class A in 2022 prior to the changes the feds made in 2023 where you're required to go to a driving school.
Love this content and video;
Thanks Aaron! It's been really cold and now really rainy here. Haven't been very busy the last couple weeks.
It's something about seeing the land leveler eat up the grass in the gravel! I love the look of it when completed!
If you like that you need to check out my videos with the Harley rake!
@@NealORussa I have checked them out as well... impressive as well!
What is your main objective: Drainage, Appearance, or best material to avoid redo
I continue to re look at thus video... the grading and leveling of the ground. The gravel looks good. Love the skid steer!
I suggest tandem dump. And that driver was damn good operator

@@NealORussa if 5 tons is enough single be good then. U find myself needing quads to get 26 tons
One of favorite to watch. Love the process and the finished look!
Thank you! The land plane does a great job! Did you check out my video of building it?
What kind of machine is that?
That's a terex pt30. Machine was designed by ASV. Asv is now back in business owned by yanmar and producing again.
@NealORussa it looks cool I have a bobcat s 650..nice job u did there.

@NealORussa yes its great for for a lot of things bit not so with others for a home owner tears up everything
