Thank you for providing me with 2+ hours of happiness. Both of my grandparents on my mom's side recently took a turn for the worse, and I hate seeing my mom so heartbroken. Things were already pretty bad in our home for other reasons, but this is definitely straining us. Trying not to let stress and anxiety take over. Very glad that I can resort to music in such a dark time. Thanks again Kyle, your music has helped more than you know :')

A few years ago I requested a song from you. You went and watched a video of it, liked it, but never played it (you giant tease). I said screw it and picked up playing the piano to learn it, since it didn't seem like you were going to haha. It's refreshing to see you make mistakes, it reminds me that my goal isn't unobtainable. Thanks for inspiring me and ignoring my request, it put me on the path of the piano, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

dang I just love the way you deal with the stress of messing up in front of tons of people. try a couple more times. small freak. ...and F it. moving on. I always get so clogged and gotta practice it till it's good. Do you always do that when you mess up during a practice session? or do you do the same thing as me?
Hey kyle, do your hands start feeling fatigued from playing so long? Do you do any exercises to increase your endurance?
kaizun It you practice around 4-6 hours a day (wich is standart if you want to become a professional pianist) your hands already get endurence training just from that.

Hi, I found a method to begin to improvise. Close your eyes and play whatever you want using only white key.
If you want to improvise like Kyle, learning harmony will probably help you.
Hope that this will be useful to you.
and you learn all this from scales.
I started practicing by starting a simple chord progression in the left hand, like in many pop or rock songs. Then just trying out different things in the right hand. You can do in any key, but easier to start with something without many sharps or flats, like c major or a minor.
Then you can try in different keys or different progressions in the left hand. This way you will slowly learn the different scales by having fun and slowly improving and learning different flourishes and scales. Practice different chords, feel how they sound.
After doing a bit of this you can try listening to stuff you like, for example Kyle's videos or other songs and try to replicate the main melody and make it your own.
The closing your eyes (or not) method and just hitting stuff is also a way to go. It increases your bond to the piano :D Like, you learn where to hit to make a certain sound or if you hit a certain place what sound it will make.
Another method is to play some music in the background and try to play along with it, but maybe this is for later.
I think underneath all this in one way or another you should be practicing your technique, i.e. strength in fingers, arms and body while also somehow learning the musical relationships in and between the scales and chords etc. These are the tools you need to be free to play whatever you want. The methods I have described I've been using to practice improvisation/composition. I am just an amateur player, so hope this helps.
