It is. We’ve estimated roughly 35,000€ in parts so far, with no estimate for the labor as we would be doing the labor here in Croatia. We already have the mapping figured out for an e92 and for a ZF 8-speed also figured out. We are leaning more towards the 8-speed because of the torque converter and the smooth city driving as well. Plan to maintain luxurious interior but make the door frames from carbon fiber and change the interior leather with much lighter alcantara and lighter insulation. ZF can be tuned to be almost as fast as a dct even around the track
@EvolveAutomotive iirc the 8hp doesn't like the high rpms that the v10 is capable of. I can't remember why but I thought it was cavitation of the pump at above 7500 or 8000
I like my E92 but don’t love it as an overall package. The S65/DCT drivetrain in an E46 must be sublime. Thanks for sharing this awesome car as it’s giving me terrible ideas of ways to waste money 😅

Anyone else wondering how this stacks up against a genuine E46 M3 GTR? Those came standard from the factory with a similar V8 didn't they? I wonder who built a better V8 E46, BMW or this gentleman?
why cant a tuner in this country map a x3m comp s58 21 plate i know the ecu gets sent too finland to be unlocked why is their no 1 here can do it and then map it
We can do the whole process for you but still have to send the ECU to Finland as that's where the only company in the world who can unlock the ECUs is based.

Regarding noise maybe. The v10 weighs almost 250kg and is longer putting more of that weight on the front while the s65 is around 200kg. That’s even lighter then the 6 in-line predecessor. Put a dry sump oil system in it and you reduce even more weight on that front. I bet that the 4.4 v8 would be much faster on the Nordschleife then the v10.

Truthfully ZF would probably be my choice too in an M5
8HP even in M54B30 makes such a difference!

Why not just mod an E92 M3. It already has the engine and transmission. Kind of a big waste of money.
This weighs 1290kg, that’s about 300kg less than an E92 M3
E46 M3 has a better chassis. It's why you see more of them on the ring than e92's.
s54 weighs more than s65, e46 handles better and tighter, SMG is awful compared to dct
